The best place in Huntley for casual, no drama, good time. Service and the food were great. Place I bring friends when they come to Huntley.

Casual and delicious. Large outdoor patio. Their Voodoo Shrimp is so yummy. The Carne Asada Wrap is delicious! Great apps, salads and burgers. All is really good. Dressings taste bottled (fix that if your listening Parkside and I’ll give you another star). Get the sweet tomatillo dressing. Very family friendly.

This is a typical bar with bar food. All the food is excellent. All the sandwiches are great and the portions are large. They have wonderful tater tots. The tater tots aren’t greasy. Two thumbs up for great food and great service. I just wish they had more indoor seating and some booth seating.

We’ve been going to Parkside since we moved to Huntley three years ago, and after another great experience there tonight, I finally felt compelled to write a review.
There a lot of things to love about this neighborhood gem, but the #1 factor is the atmosphere. It’s a local pub frequented by regulars that still manages to feel inclusive. From the first time we walked in, we never felt like «outsiders» or «newbies.» Tonight the bar’s patrons were singing along to «Sweet Caroline» while enjoying the Blackhawks game on TV. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Our favorite waitress, Gina, is a particular ray of sunshine, while the owner, JR, has done a masterful job building a fixture in the Huntley community. It’s an especially enjoyable scene when the weather warms up and the outdoor patio is relaxing and inviting.
As for the food, I’ve probably tried about 20 different items in the menu, and they’ve all been delicious. I’m especially partial to the homemade chicken salad on a croissant, though the pulled pork sandwich and the burgers are excellent choices as well. Sandwiches, burgers, and wraps all offer the choice of fries or tater tots as a side (I love anywhere that offers tots!) and the coleslaw is a delicious accompaniment as well. There’s a slew of terrific appetizers, and even the soups and salads deliver. Tuesday nights are $ 2 Taco Tuesdays, one of the best deals in town. And there are daily drink specials, too.
Parkside might be best known for the Turkey Testicle Festival it hosts every November, but I haven’t experienced it firsthand, so I can’t speak to that event. I do know attendees who have raved about it, and it is hugely popular, so I hope to eventually make it there for the Festival to check it out.
Bottom line? There are chain burger and pizza places in the area, and then there’s Parkside. Do yourself a favor and choose to frequent this local treasure. I’m sure you’ll quickly become a return customer!

This place is your average bar with Bar food. I ordered a chicken wrap. It was pretty good with the tots. We also ordered the voodoo shrimp appetizer. DELICIOUS!

The service has been excellent since the first time I came in. The food is great, especially their tater tots. It’s a must with any burger or wrap.

Love this local restaurant/​pub. The food is always fresh and the staff is super friendly. If you are looking for great food and amazing drinks then this is the place. Inside or outside you will really enjoy Parkside. The owner JR is super friendly he knows his customers. Keep it up Parkside you have a good thing going!

Dinner with the family, first time there… it was good, food was good and Crystal Lake Brewing Company beer was good. Service and atmosphere was great

Love the new owners! Very personable. It’s much cleaner now and the menu (especially the voodoo shrimp) is incredible! They offer up to items such as sweet potato fries vs just the basics. Outdoor area is large and provides a family environment for larger groups along with an outdoor bar area worth tvs for those wanting to watch the games. Waitresses are super friendly!

When I dine out I look for three things. Food– Service– Price. This place has it in Spades. 1:20pm. Walked in with a friend sat at a booth. Service was right there. Wed. is Rib Special. $ 10 ½ slab. $ 15 full slab. Full slab for us. $ 1 more for onion rings. Drinks were there in a flash. Food came shortly there after. Ribs onion rings (or tater tots) and coleslaw. All were good. The Ribs were fall off the bone good! Much better than Sweet Baby Ray’s. The two guys working our table were great with the service. That nailed it for me. I will be going out of my way just to go back to the Parkside Pub. For the Food Service and Price!

4-​star rating for the food only. My son and I both had the BBQ pork sandwich, which was pretty darn good… a little spicy and served with coleslaw on top. I had the sweet potato fries, which were excellent. We sat outside on the patio, which was nice, BUT the music was so loud that we could barely hear each other talking and I was really surprised to see a lot of people smoking. Didn’t know that was allowed at restaurants in IL, even outside? Waitress wasn’t very good either. She took our order, then basically disappeared for a long time (hanging out at the bar). Some young guy from the kitchen brought us our food. I wanted a drink, but the waitress was nowhere to be found. Speaking of drinks, there is no drink menu, which we thought was really weird. Waitress finally reappeared when she brought our check… before we were even done eating! Totally rude. She didn’t even say thank you. Would go back for the food and to hang out on the patio with friends, but hopefully next time we will have better service!

Totally love this place! Great menu. We went after my son’s ball game and it was perfect. Voodoo shrimp, burgers, tater tots, reasonably priced, great service. We will be back!!!

So… I always ENJOY this place! The food is really good… The atmosphere is low key … and the staff is friendly!
I ordered the Philly Steak Nachos and the Voodoo Shrimp… as I never tried them before and WOW! is all I can say. I have been here many times and I will be back!

Excellent place to grab a bite to eat and some drinks. Great food and not too pricey. Pleasent atmostphere for the most part.

Had an hour with my wife before we had to go pick up our daughters from dance class and we needed to grab a quick bite. We have lived in Algonquin since 2001 and I am sorry to say we have never tried Parkside Pub. Driven past it a million times but never been inclined to stop. My wife suggested that we try it so we decided to stop and have a quick dinner. Great little pub. The inside is quite small (maybe a total of ten booths/​tables other than the bar itself which is decent size.) The overall atmosphere is quite nice. It was warm and inviting and the staff was very friendly. My wife and I had the nachos and then split the Fire Burger. We each enjoyed a draft beer. Service was prompt and the food was above par for a pub. The nacho chips were really good and the burger was juicy and flavorful. I also had the cheese and bacon soup that seemed to be homemade and was crazy good. We ate drank our beer and still had around 15 minutes to spare before we had to go get the girls. The bill for the two of us came out to less than $ 30.00. All I can say is that I regret never coming here before. We will be back for sure.

I love this place! Excellent food! Drinks are D-​lish, the service is amazing, and everyone is so dang happy!

My wife and I have now been here twice with our two young kids and both times had an excellent experience. Although the first time we did have a long wait for our food, the staff did a great job of checking in on is and were very friendly. The food was excellent each time. The first visit I had the Buffalo Style Southern Fried Chicken sandwich and that was a winner. The second visit I had the Southwest Chipotle Burger which was good. We also had the Voodoo Shrimp appetizer which was outstanding.
The most recent visit, the server tending the bar outside let us know ahead of time that a large party had just placed a food order so it might be 15 more minutes. When we ordered our appetizer, without us asking she placed our kids orders with our appetizer so at least the kids food would get out sooner. She also brought us a second round of drinks without us asking and we were sitting on the opposite end of the beer garden.
What I really appreciated is that going to an establishment that is slightly more bar than grill, they were very kid friendly. They had kid meals available but wait staff and a guy who I think was a manager was super friendly to us and our kids.

We went in last night. It was a Monday and the Blackhawks were playing. Once again the servers and staff are outstanding. I honestly wanted something that I could not get anywhere else. They actually had homemade green bell pepper soup. It was delicious. the only thing I would suggest is to serve crackers with it. But it was a big bowl for $ 5.50. I highly recommend it. My husband ordered a ceasar salad. It normally only has romaine lettuce. This was kind of a stepchild to the traditional ceasar salad. They also serve the dressing in a very tiny cup. I suggest the next size up. You could only dress a quarter of the salad. They were also out of silverware at the time so they gave us plastic. We ordered the Philly Steak sandwich and the Fire burger. One with tater tots and one with fries. There was coleslaw with the Philly Steak Sandwich and i was given no fork. So I borrowed the plastic fork from hubby.
Overall, they earned another star from me for the service and food. My only suggestion is that they should be ready at all times. Especially as this was Monday! The slowest day of the week.
