Really good food but the hours change too often. They are now closed on Sunday so beware of the craving that can’t be filled

Went there for the first time and were pleasantly surprised by the quality and freshness of the food. We ordered burritos and an order of guacamole which was freshly made. The place is nothing to write home about but the food and the nice people working there are worth coming back for.

Tried tonight for the first time — the food and service was excellent! I did takeout, everything was prepared fresh and the flavors out of this world! My family loved everything we ordered — cannot wait to try again! Thank you Rachel for your great customer service — and thank you chef for providing our family a fantastic fresh meal! We will be back and highly recommend!

One of my favorite salsas. I try to get in there at least once a month. I have had to walk out because it took too long to get an easy order. Usually worth the wait.

The first time I went to this restaurant was around 2007 – 2008, after moving to Hampshire. My sister told me about the place, back when it had a different name. My bro and I went and had a burrito. The burrito was so stuffed and so good, my brother barely finished his. Since then, I always seem to forget to go back. Recently, when I signed up Unilocal,I looked this place up and looked at the menu. Today, 04/13/2015, I decided to order and torta de Milanesa and some tacos. When I picked up my order, the person working up front was real nice and professional. When I got home, I was hungry and ready to eat. The tacos were good. Meat was cooked well and the additional toppings made it better. The torta is what caught my attention when eating. Loved it!!! I know now next time I want some Mexican food, I’ll call this place up and get my food.

Alright so I tried this place twice, to give them the benefit of the doubt. Twice I was let down. I’ll start off with sone positives. The location is great, and everybody there is extremely friendly. I like the atmosphere there and it’s very cozy. Also, their red salsa is very spicy and delicious. The green, eh, good taste but way too watery. Let’s get into some of the negatives. The first time I was there I had a burrito suizo and a tamale, two of my faves. The burrito had a thick chunky salsa, almost straight out of a pace salsa can on it. It tasted terrible. Definitely not the right sauce, not even their normal salsa sauce. Then I moved on to the tamale. It was very large and looked good from the outside. Unfortunately when I cut it to take a bite, it was 99.9 percent masa and hardly any meat. The masa was also very dry. I went there again tonight to get enchiladas, because most places can’t really mess that up. Well this place did. Instead of enchilada sauce they put the same crappy thick salsa on them that they put on the burrito! I was shocked as even sauce out of a packet would have been better. I was very disappointed as this is the only mexican place in town that has lengua(my favorite meat) and I really can’t get it here without being disappointed. If you’re really jonesing for some Mexican food, there are only 2 places to go in Huntley and the other one has a limited menu. Maybe I’m being too biased because I’m Mexican and have had been eating real homemade Mexican food all my life. Or that I grew up in Elgin and that’s pretty much the same thing. But I wouldn’t recommend this place as it isn’t authentic or even tasty Mexican food. If you don’t know what real Mexican food is supposed to taste like, try this place out, maybe you’ll like it.

Tasty good with authentic flair. Guacamole was delicious, although they ran out last time we were there. Chicken tamale was great, right size for the price. It’s a very small place that seems to cater more towards the lunch or takeout crowd. Wish they were a true sit down with a liquor license… Huntley can really use the variety!

You may have to wait a bit for your order if you don’t call it in, but it’s worth it. Steak or ground beef anything are great. I was less pleased with the pork options so I stay away from them. Happy to have this place in Huntley.

Authentic Mexican food including the Cokes in the glass bottle. Small place but the flavor makes up for it, the tacos taste like your Mexico City or Cozumel. A nice surprise in Huntley!

My experience started off poorly as the only waitress took quite a while to visit my table. From my vantage on the left side of the restaurant I could see her making guacamole for what must have been a take out order. When she came over to my table she took my order and brought me chips and salsa, which were very good. After about ten minutes of watching the only cook, and likely owner, frantically cook the waitress apologized for the wait multiple times explaining that they had a lot of take out orders. When my burrito finally arrived I can honestly say it was worth the wait. The chicken was very fresh and the rice was nicely cooked. I would definitely return and would have given 3.5 stars if that was an option.

A little pricey but I guess you get what you pay for. I had huevos rancheros for breakfast as we stopped there early one day. They were excellent. Their salsa verde and horchata was simply amazing. Authentic Mexican food in Huntley… I cant complain… Highly recommended!

I have driven by this place and always wanted to try it, today I did. It is a little hole in the wall and I was hoping for a hidden gem. I was not really impressed with their food. Not bad but nothing special at all. Ordered a chicken burrito and it was hot and fresh. However, it was also small and contained diced chicken breast and not shredded chicken.

This is probably more like 2.5 stars, but I was feeling generous today! My parents live out in Huntley and I visit frequently. I’ve driven by Taco Locos many times and always thought I needed to try it. Well, I finally did. It was a Saturday around 1 pm and the place was a disaster. It was the slowest take-out service I’ve ever experienced. First off, this should not be a full-service restaurant. You should order at the counter, take a seat, they call your number, you pick up your food at the counter, you sit down and eat or take it home. That was the first problem. The second problem was the small space. There’s no room and at least two of the tables should be removed! Face it folks, the place just isn’t big enough! I hate when restaurants try to cram twice as many tables into a space when there’s absolutely no room for it and it makes everyone uncomfortable. The third problem was the lack of staff. I think there was only one person cooking in the kitchen. There was one«server» who bascially had to do EVERYTHING, but cook. It was a hot mess! I waited 15 – 20 minutes for 3 tacos and chips and salsa — for take-out. As for the food — my tacos weren’t bad. They were pretty small, though. The pastor had good flavor and just enough spice, but the tacos themselves were kind of skimpy! The chips were good. Mine were straight out of the fryer and were still warm. The pico de gallo had waaay too much cilantro. I could hardly even see the tomatoes and onions through all the leaves of cilantro. It was basically chips and cilantro — very little salsa involved here. I love pico de gallo, but I will go with the more«saucey» salsas next time. This place has potential and it’s the only authentic Mexican restaurant(sorry, folks, Taco Bell doesn’t count) in town so I might be back to try a burrito or something, but they really should think about making some changes to make the experience a tad bit more enjoyable for people dining in, people coming in for take-out and the employees themselves! My suggestion to anyone doing the take-out thing is to call ahead and wait at least 15 minutes before going to pick it up. This will save you a lot of frustration!

They offer chicharones(pork skins) on gorditas and tostadas. How awesome is that!?! Take that generic Taco Stop! Of all the places I’ve been in the City, this little gem in Huntley offers me more protein choices than I’ve ever seen. Everything from steak and pork to tongue and pork skins. Baby, they’ve got it covered. Small place, 10 tables, 4 chairs each. Basic menu, gorditas, sopes, tacos, burritos, tortas, tostadas, more cold beverage choices than the human has digits on the extremities(mainly sodas.) Prices were very, very reasonable. If it says anything, this is the place where the drivers of a meal truck grabbed a meal. The salsa was very much on the sweet,(yes, sweet) side, our sauces were the normal green(mild, mild, but very tasty with flavor,) and instead of red, we got a smokey, delicious(!!!) chipotle that just brought the mouth to life. I would certainly recommend this modest establishment for the satisfaction of your south-of-the-border food cravings.
