History

Established in 1985.

Dr Montoya Sr founded St Lucia Eye Center in 1985 and since has been serving the Huntington Park community with quality eye care. Dr Carlos Montoya Jr joined the practice in 2000 and worked dillegently with his father to make the practice one the more popular eye clinics in the southeast area of Los Angeles.

Business Owner

Carlos Montoya Jr., is a board certified physician of the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr Montoya has also had extensive training in the implantation of intraocular lenses, Lasik, and cosmetic eyelid surgery. He has performed over 15,000 eye surgeries which include Cataract, Glaucoma, Lasik and Blepharoplasties.

Dr Montoya Jr attended the University of California, Irvine (UCI) Medical School. He completed his training in ophthalmology at Nassau County Medical Center/​Stony Brook University Hospital in the state of New York.

I’ve only had amazing experiences here at St. Lucia Eye Center. Doctor Montonya is professional and knows exactly what he is doing. Appointments are always when needed and they even made room for me when I had an emergency eye problem just so I could get in before work and have enough time to fill my prescription. The staff is friendly, all the doctors and assistants are super helpful and show that they are truly there to help you with whatever you might be in there visiting for.
Their staff is bilingual so if you need Spanish assistance then they will provide you with that as well!

Dr. Montoya is an excellent ophthalmologist. He and his staff really care about their patients and go out of their way to make sure they get proper eye care. I have sent many friends to St. Lucía and they have all been very satisfied.

A few years back I went there to have a laser eye surgery done on me. The whole procedure and process went pretty well, no complications whatsoever. They told me that after having the procedure my vision would improve by a lot. Flashforward to now, I now wear glasses and my vision has gotten worse. I recently went back to visit them and discuss what was going wrong and if there’s a reason as to why the procedure did not fulfill its needs. When i went there I was greeted with bad service. I was told to return in a week and they would have an answer. They never called or did anything to grt in contact with me. I would call them and would be put on hold. I decided to go in person and the same thing that occured on phone, happened in person.
Thry give terrible service and do not dollow thru with their words. They lost my file and did not know what to do. Instead of being honest, they avoided me. If you are worried about your eyes or need surgery performed on you, it would be best to go some place else.
