History

Established in 1939.

Robert Mandic Sr. Opened Mandic Motors, A Chrysler-​Plymouth Dealership in 1939. The Towing was added in 1940. The dealership closed in 1966 allowing Bob and his father to focus solely on Towing and Auto Repairs.

Mandic Motors signed their first Auto Club Contract in September of 1972 and the business has grown into a 13 truck, 13 driver, 2400 calls per month operation serving the Huntington Beach area.

In December 2003, Mandic Motors became part of AAA’s Battery

Service Provider Network. The station has become a top provider in battery sales and incentives.

Bob takes great pride in the Service Quality provided by his

drivers and says that customer service was something that his father instilled in him

Bob has volunteered his time to the improvement of the Towing Industry and has twice served as President of the Orange County Chapter of the California Tow Truck Association, and was honored by the CTTA in Reno Nevada in May of 2004 with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

These guys are terrible. They park their big huge vehicles in the canyon blocking the view of others trying to get out of their driveways in the surrounding areas, creating accidents. No regard for others in their neighborhood. These guys should be held to a higher standard since parking in the cannon in front of the area where they work is illegal and they still do it on a daily basis and nobody gives them a ticket or toes them. They think they’re above the law and because the local police department won’t do anything they will not stop.

I want to thank Dave and all the guys at Mandic Motors. My battery died at the gas station of all places and they came out to help. Dave noticed that my connections were corroded and that my starter was in danger of being corroded. He jumped my battery and had me follow him to the yard. Once there he power washed everything, checked my connections to the starter and the battery. Dave truly went above and beyond. All the guys over at Mandic Motors were just amazing. Thank you guys for all that you do not just for our city but for one very stressed out girl.

These guys have helped me out so many times through the years I’ve lost count. From rescuing me after running out of gas in my 1st car, to having my car towed when I lived in my 1st apartment downtown during the 4th of July Parade (I never did that again), to picking me up on Beach Blvd when my car died, bringing new car batteries, and unlocking my car constantly since having my kids because I’m now brain dead. Through thick and thin, Mandic motors has always been great.

HB Parking enforcement called these guys out to tow my car (as it was parked on the street) for expired tags. I was able to provide DMV documentation proving to them I was not in violation. Parking enforcement agreed to release my car but the tow truck driver «Quebec» still demanded I pay $ 100 to «drop» the vehicle.
I asked if he could waive the fee since this was clearly resolved with parking enforcement, but all I got was an attitude from him telling me «I didn’t come out here for nothing.» He even eluded to the fact that he was doing ME a favor by not charging the full amount. Are you kidding me?

I recently had my car towed here by Huntington Police. The car had extensive unseen damage. I have to say, for a towing company and garage, these are some of the nicest guys you’ll find in that industry. They kept my car overnight for free in the front, saving me money. J, the head mechanic, worked with me every step of the way to ensure that I wasn’t spending money that I shouldn’t. They get a little backed up here in there as does every garage, but he did his best to communicate with me at every chance. Whenever I called he was available as well. Eventually they told me car to a shop to get some alignment done, charges were too much, and Jamie the recommendation that I pull the car. And all he saved me a lot of money and in the end even towed my car back to my house for free. Best service I’ve ever had from a garage. I’ll probably use them for all my towing needs.

Aaron is a true gentleman. He didn’t have to help but I’m really grateful he took the time to be chivalrous.
Ran out of gas in a parking lot (thank god) over by my daughter’s school. Came back later with the newfangled gas can. Red and plastic with an attachment fit for a Star Wars movie. I’m pretty handy but ended up with gas all over the car and asphalt. Not happy but still needing to figure this thing out, I went back to the gas station to «comment» on the design of said can.
On the way in I asked Aaron (in the giant tow truck) if he knew how to work it and he offered to fill it up for me with his normal, handy, simple, yet effective funnel. AWESOME. So he puts the last of my gas can in the tank and the car still doesn’t have enough gas to start. Back to the gas station where Aaron used one of his fantastically boring jugs. Back to the car. Fill up tank again. Then waited with me to make sure the car would stay on.
Sounds simple but it made my day.

I had a tire blow out on Brookhurst north of Garfield in Fountain Valley today. I limped my car into the parking lot nearby and called AAA. Thankfully, they sent Mandic Motors to the rescue. They were on scene within 15 minutes of the incident. Josh and his tow partner (missed his name, sorry!) introduced themselves with a smile and a handshake, then got the tire changed and loaded up and I was on my way in no time. They were both very professional and got the job done. Thank you so much Mandic!

My battery went out on Monday morning before work. Mandic Motors was recommended by my auto mechanic. David (Dave) from Mandic came out within an hour and found my car in the alley with no directions just my address and car make. Smart guy! He called me when he arrived so i didn’t need to stand downstairs waiting for him. In 5 minutes he gave my Jetta a jump, tested the alternator for free and did my insurance paperwork for reimbursement. It cost me $ 65 which they quoted me in advance. The young man on the phone was polite and friendly and quick. My first-​time experience with Mandic Motors was a breeze especially for a Monday morning during rush hour. I put them in my phone for next time.

Crooked tow service. Got my car towed b/​c i forgot to put a hangtag on my car in my gated community. Said they charged an extra hundred to use special equipment b/​c there was a car in front and behind mine. That was impossible. There are very few cars in my gated community and there was a driveway behind my car without any cars. After some arguing they removed that charge. The guy knew he was lying through his teeth. Ask your security to verify this.

Brandon, tow truck driver extraordinaire, is worth six stars (if Unilocal gave me the option). I was the lucky recipient of a AAA roadside assist from him during rush hour on the third day of the U.S. Open of Surfing from Mandic Motors. I was stuck in downtown HB at PCH and First St. at the Lifeguard HQ. In short, he was on the scene in a flash and helped to diagnose my problem then get me on my way (he even included a 3-​mile escort down PCH and back up Brookhurst to make sure I was safely on my way). Thanks Brandon!

Getting your car towed is already a mess. So this ass hole told my wife the it was only $ 197, we were fine with that, but we get and they try to get a additional 100 dollars from us fucking crooks.

Mandic has saved me so many times. From getting locked out of my car to tows, they’re always on time or early. This morning I needed a jump and the driver David Donaldson was fabulous. He not only started my car, he checked the working condition of my battery, starter and alternator. And because my battery was almost empty, he informed me that their shop can recharge batteries and for AAA members it’s free. When I got to the shop, they got me in quickly and offered a free ride home and to pick me up. I’m super appreciative for all their help. Keep up the good work, fellas.

I am a senior citizen, and know nothing about cars, but thanks to the auto club taking me to Mandic Motors, I have a new battery, at no cost. A very kind mechanic named Jay went the extra mile to discover the battery was still under warranty. I later discovered that Mandic Motors has been in business since 1939, and I now know why!
I am very Thankful, on this Thanksgiving to have found them, and I will never go anywhere else.

I was very pleased with the service I received from Mandic Motors. We had to call them not only once, but twice on the 4th of July. They came quickly. The first guy jump started my car and told me I had a bad battery. Printed out a form to take to Costco so I can get the replacement battery for free. Unfortunately, It wasn’t my battery, it was my Alternator. Half way to my destination my car completely died. In 4th of July downtown HB traffic. I was terrified. Some helpful people pushed me out of the way and the tow truck guy came shortly after and towed me 4 blocks back home.
Although I had to call the twice, they were both very friendly and helpful given that it was the 4th of July and they had been towing cars since 5am. Thank you to both of the nice guys that helped me out!

I’ve grown up in Huntington Beach and have used Mandic motors a number of times. This last experience with the towing service was more than pleasant.
