Established in 2005.

In the Spring of 2005, Dr. Christopher Chan opened the doors to his general and cosmetic dentistry private practice in Huntington Beach, California. From that day forward, it was obvious to his patients and those who work around him that Dr. Chan loves his profession. Approaching every patient case with passion and precision, Dr. Chan has created spectacular results and continues to build and improve his practice. His recent renovation of the office continues to provide state of the art technology in association with a comfortable environment for his patients to receive premier service. Dr. Chan graduated Magna Cum Laude from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the renowned University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. He is an active member of prominent associations, such as the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Orange County Dental Society.

Being committed to continuing education, Dr. Chan actively participates in advanced education, mastering the latest dentistry techniques and technology in order to provide beautiful, healthy smiles for his patients with the highest possible level of care. He has a passion in the field of cosmetic dentistry and completed his residency at one of the nation’s top cosmetic dental programs. At Esthetic Professionals, Dr. Chan trained and studied the art of creating beautiful smiles, using the latest techniques and materials such as porcelain veneers.

I’m 45 years old and visited Dr. Chan for the first time last week. Obviously I’ve been to the dentist many times over the years so I expected the regular x-​rays and cleaning, but instead had the most comprehensive and thorough overview that I’ve ever had. His equipment is state of the art, but he doesn’t just show of his equipment to impress, he really seems to care and use all that his office offers to the benefit of his patients. His attention to detail is even more impressive, I was blown away from what he showed me. His staff as well as himself are all very friendly and really set me at ease. I look forward to growing my relationship with Dr. Chan and really wish that I had found him sooner. From my experience so far, I highly recommend Dr. Chan.

After not being to the dentist for more than two decades, I found Dr Chan DDS based on my insurance, Unilocal,and distance to my home. At first I was skeptical, my last dentist experience was so horrible it traumatized me for a while, but when I walked in, I was greeted by Mary with a friendly smile. I had some major work to be done since I avoided the dentist for a long time. Dr. Chan and his assistants took care of me and made sure I was comfortable through deep cleanings, filling replacements, extractions, and regular cleanings. I appreciate that they always check on you while the procedures are being done. I also appreciate that everything is explained before the process is started and there is no pressure to accept extra procedures. Mary is wonderful and always tries her best to work with my schedule! I would recommend giving Dr. Chan a visit and you might fall in love with the friendly and professional staff!!!

I haven’t been to the dentist in years so I finally needed to go to get my wisdom teeth pulled. I came to Dr. Chan’s office and everyone in the office was very helpful and nice. He found 1 cavity and scheduled me for a cleaning and to have 2 wisdom teeth pulled. Instead of making me show up for 3 different appointments Erika took me at 7 in the morning and made my teeth feel brand new and even flossed my teeth for me. AWESOME! Then after that I got my cavity filled and both wisdom teeth pulled and I was out of there by 10! The dental assistant I think Nina was her name was the sweetest person. She made me feel comfortable when she saw I was nervous about getting my teeth pulled. Thanks Nina! They did an amazing job my mouth wasn’t even that swollen and I felt better the next day! he used new technology that makes your experience different then anyone else. I would recommend this dentist to anyone!

My husband and I have not been to the dentist in over 20+ years, (I know, gross). Anyways, this place has the most friendliest staff ever! At first, my husband would brag about this place and how great it was, i didn’t believe it until i gave it a try. They greet you, know your name, and the staff ALWAYS takes the time to explain every procedure you need. I had a deep cleaning done with the periodontal treatment using the laser. Dr. Chan and his assistant explain to me the process before he started the work. During the process, he and his assistant always made sure i was feeling ok and was comfortable. Once the produre was donw, they went over the aftercare process. This place is neat and organize. Everything looks clean to touch. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a dentist who isn’t rude or scary.

We recently moved to Huntington Beach and decided to go to Dr. Chan for services after receiving a direct mail piece. I am very impressed with Dr. Chan and the entire office staff. My 9 year old son has traditionally been very anxious when going to the dentist and the hygienist and office staff including Dr. Chan were incredible with him. He handled the visits quite well. They even provide headphones to listen to music to drown out the drill noise no one looks forward too. Definitely plan to continue to see Dr. Chan in the future.

Dr Chan’s office took excellent care of me on my first visit. They made me feel welcomed and extremely comfortable. I am meeting with Dr. Chan in a week, but he took the time to say hello during my cleaning and x-​rays. I would definitely recommend his office to others

Bait and switch and insurance fraud!
When I went to Dr. Chan he said I had several cavities and that I needed a new crown. So, I made the appointments and got the work done. I was told I had a deductible and I paid it. I was surprised that I had to pay, but I did. If I go over my insurance maximum then I have to pay the difference. Well, a month later I got another bill in the mail from Dr. Chan saying I owed $ 307 more! I was shocked! After looking over the bills that my dental insurance paid I realized my insurance was billed for services I did not get. I was sent to another dentist to check to see if the work Dr. Chan charged my insurance company was done. Surprisingly some of it was not! Dr. Chan had to reimburse my insurance company because he charged them for services that he never did. Also, Dr. Chan will say you need work done that your insurance might not cover fully so beware! After dealing with all of this then the crown fell off. Save yourself and find another dentist who is honest.
Next step I am reporting him to the American Dental Association and the Better Business Bureau.

I am very happy since I started coming to see Doctor Chan. He is very professional, very calm and explain everything very well. His assistant Alba is the best! She is very caring and she makes me feel very special. I am in the process to get a tooth implant. I was anxious and nervous before my appointment. But Doctor Chan is very good making sure I was not going to be in pain at all. And Alba is there, massaging my cheeks when I was getting tired, always saying something sweet to help me to go through my appointment. Great staff! (Ines Lombardi)

After my «old-​school» dentist of 18 years retired, my old dentist left my teeth in bad shape through neglect, thus exacerbating my gum pockets to aggressive periodontal disease.
I searched high and low for a new dentist whose office had the capabilities of general dentistry as well as periodontal oral surgery to address my deep gum pockets.
I’m glad I found Dr. Chan’s office! Dr. Chan is highly experienced in the use of laser technology for dentistry, which minimizes pain, procedure time and reduced healing time.
If your periodontist recommends traditional flap surgery for your deep pockets, I highly suggest you save yourself some pain and go the laser route. With Dr. Chan’s deft laser expertise, my periodontal flap surgeries had minimal pain and healing time, unlike traditional flaps. Less expensive to boot! Don’t let Dr. Chan’s young looks fool you. He’s very knowledgeable, experienced and gentle.
The staff is super friendly, efficient and organized. I never have to wait on my appointments. They’ll get you in and out and on your way to work afterwards.

All I have to say is WOW! The best dental experience I’ve ever had! Dr. Chan explained everything so well and every staff member was super nice and helpful. The hygienist was really great too, very detailed and full of useful information. They have the latest and greatest technology. I went in for a few cavities and there was no need for ANY gum shots! I was so stoked about that because gum shots make me cringe! Great doctor, great staff, great experience! I am making this my permanent stop for all my dental need!

Things that make Dr. Chan and his team stand out:
— Technology: large screens in every single room to help display x-​rays. Very educational. Laser therapy for cavity treatment. Much easier and no need for numbing. Provides shaded glasses and headphones during procedures.
— Separate hygenist staff: solely focused on cleaning. can be scheduled separately. helps to break up potentially long appointments.
— Paperwork: provides overall breakdown of services, costs and out of pocket. No surprises. Able to make appointments over phone, email or web.

Dr. Chan continues to impress. I’ve always liked how he’s so on top of his continuing education; it makes me feel like I’m getting the most current procedures and techniques done on my teeth. You can tell that he cares about his work and strives to provide the latest technology and equipment for his patients.
Recently, he used a LASER to fill my cavities and it was completely PAINLESS! I didn’t even have to get numb with any shots. No needles were used whatsoever. The best part about it was that I could eat immediately afterwards and not have to wait for any numbness to wear off. It was as if I hadn’t gotten any dental work done at all. That’s how amazing it was!
My husband went in to see Dr. Chan a few days later and got some laser work done, as well. He’s always biting his lip or cheek whenever he eats and it creates this bump, which unfortunately, takes forever to get better since he keeps re-​biting that bump! Luckily, Dr. Chan was able to use his laser to flatten the bump. My husband said the procedure was completely painless, as well.
Dr. Chan’s new laser technology is pretty awesome. It’s just one more reason we continue to go to his office. The friendly staff and competent hygienists are definitely a plus, too!

What can I say. .. all previous reviewers has said it all.
Dr. Chan and his staff are by far the best dental office in So. California. Their service boast the latest in dental technology. .. including laser treatments which bypasses the need for local anesthesia in most cases.
Dr. Chan is friendly, professional and takes the time to explain all treatment options. He’s discovered many dental issues within my family that my previous dentist of 25+ years either missed or didn’t bother with.
And let me tell you about the staff. .. the BEST bar none. Mary at front office and Alba, Kerri, Erica, Kelsie (hope she comes back), et al make sure that your visit is a pleasant one. THANKS LADIES!

First of all, my husband is very picky about who he sees when it involves his teeth. We «tried» several dentists but none were the right fit.
Dr. Chan is professional, friendly and best of all, his office is CLEAN, modern and with the latest technology. He is thorough with his work and follows through. His staff is superb.
In just one visit, Dr. Chan was able to identify conditions that our previous dentist didn’t catch that was causing pain and he is also very big on preventive care.

I decided to write this review based on my mom’s experience. Bottom line — Dr. Chan rocks and my mother will be coming back!
My mom hates going to the dentist (being Asian and all thinking she doesn’t need a specialist for ANYTHING and nature will cure itself!)
I was finally able to drag her to one b/​c she had an ongoing toothache. I positioned as he speaks Chinese and I heard a lot of good things about his practice. OMG, it worked for once!
called and made an appt (smooth and efficient!). went in NOT dragging my mom — WHEW! and the receptionist was especially warm and friendly. She greeted us by name and welcomed us like family. Mom was seen right on time and was made to feel as comfortable as possible by the assistant. She even offered her a pair of shaded glasses to shield her eyes from the bright light, and a set of headphones to listen to music (too bad she didn’t know how to change stations. haha).
Anyhow, toothache bye bye, insurance covered, mom better, and ME moving one step closer to getting my mom to see a doctor for a physical.
BTW — Dr. Chan’s office is immaculate. Everything is so clean and sterile. He has the newest technology and gadgets! Most impressed — the digital xrays since even my own dentist doesn’t have that yet!

I honestly don’t like going to the dentist. All I see is a chair of torture where the light makes it seem like I’ve just been abducted by some alien race. Then again I’m kinda exaggerating. I haven’t gone to a dentist in over year (shame on me) and I really needed the cleaning since I was sure there’d be a lot of gunk. My bro referred me to Dr. Chan since he thought Chan did really well.
So I go in there, pretty standard dental office, pretty ballin instruments, sign in and I waited only a short time before I was called in. I got my X-​Ray, which miraculously showed that my teeth were in pretty good condition.
The cleaning went very smoothly. The whirring sound of one of the instruments, the suction, makes my palms sweat a bit. But what freaks me out the most is the pain that comes when a dentists starts probing your teeth and scraping off all that gunk. Then your mouth gets all ridiculously bloodied, etc. Fortunately, I didn’t experience too much of the pain. I felt that Dr. Chan showed expertise and the cleaning finished in no time.
I told him bout my teeth starting to feel sensitive, which turned out that I was brushing too hard.
Dr. Chan did good and I guess I would much rather go to him including the drive than getting stabbed a bunch of times.

Dr. Chan + his staff is awesome. Extremely professional and friendly. The moment I walked into the office, I was greeted by a warm smile. I didn’t have to wait long till I was escorted to take X-​rays. After analyzing the x-​rays, Dr. Chan was patient to thoroughly explain the health of my teeth and new issues since my last visit.

Dr. Chan brought my teeth and gums to the great health that they are in today. He is the most comprehensive and honest dentist I know. My previous dentist before Dr. Chan was on his way to retirement and didn’t even do routine exams on me or care to take x-​rays! So, my teeth were pretty neglected, to say the least. Dr. Chan put me on a very thorough treatment plan and now my teeth and gums are in the best shape they’ve ever been in. I really appreciate Dr. Chan taking preventative measures to correct my oral health before they get worse, more painful, and more expensive to fix.
His hygienist, Kerri, is also amazing. She always takes the time to explain what type of cleanings I need (I never knew there were so many types of cleanings!) and my teeth and gums always feel so fresh and clean afterwards.
I’m always greeted with a friendly staff that goes out of their way to help me with my insurance questions and make me feel comfortable.
Going to the dentist’s office used to make me cringe, but I fear no more since discovering Dr. Chan. I know I’ll be well-​taken care of there by his awesome team!

I’ve been going to see Dr. Chan since he took over the office about 7 years ago and love the change. He genuinely cares and is very accessible whenever I have any questions or concerns. Compared to some of the other dentists I’ve been to in the past, I think he is one of the most caring and honest dentists out there. He always goes over with me all of my treatment options and recommends what’s best for me. I trust his work and recommendations because he is well-​trained and I know he has my best interest in mind. I’ve referred many family and friends to his office and they all love him, too.
His staff does a great job in estimating what my insurance may or may not cover, so I have a good idea about how much my copay will be. They always make sure that I am well-​informed so there are no surprises in the end.
