My husband had a great experience getting his wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Wright at Smiles4OC in Costa Mesa. He was extremely nervous as it was his first time receiving general anesthesia and I was so happy to hear how calm and informative Dr. Wright was about the procedure. He also looked over the X-​rays and walked us through everything. My husband had TONS of questions and Dr. Wright took the time to answer every one honestly about the risks, benefits, surgery procedure, healing process, and recommended medications post surgery. I loved that he didn’t make us feel rushed which put us both at ease before the procedure. After the surgery, everything went smoothly as expected. We couldn’t be happier that we chose Dr. Wright. Highly recommended!

If I could give no stars I would. My daughter first saw Dr. Wright while he worked in the Tustin Office. My daughter has braces and we were refereed to Dr Wright by our own Dentist. We went to Dr Wright with our Ortho referral-​which explained the procedure that was needed. To extract an impacted left canine. Mind you, I don’t have braces and all this was new to me. Dr Wright seemed very professional, really knowledgeable and concerned about my daughter’s teeth. Dr Wright, explained how it was best to SAVE her impacted canine versus just pulling it out-​which is what the ortho had on the referral notes of work needed. Of course due to wanting the best for my daughter and her teeth. I went ahead with Dr Wright’s professional suggestion and my daughter ended up getting a chain on the impacted tooth so the tooth can be slowly pulled down-​saving the tooth. Dr. Wright said it would take 6 – 9 months for the tooth to come down-​Fast forward a year later. My daughter’s Ortho notified me that they took an x-​ray and that they noticed the tooth was not being pulled it appear to be pulling something else (bone). I was horrified due to the fact my poor daughter has been enduring this pain especially when they pull it. I immediately located Dr Wright’s office to notify him of the situation. We were given a consultation and I took my daughter right away. The day of the consultation I took the x-​rays given to me by the Ortho and showed Dr Wright and explained to him what I was just notified of. Dr Wright explained that I was miss informed about the chain that it wasn’t pulling bone it had just came un-​bonded and that she was ok, I was not convinced (I had a uneasy feeling) but I asked if he could redo the work since she needed to finish with her braces, and this now set her back. Dr Wright was very happy to get the work done, even suggested as early as the following week. I thanked Dr. Wright for the visit and he left. Then his office employee came in to notify me that the work would be redone but that I would have to pay $ 400 for the anesthesia. I was extremely upset and asked why? She said because they needed to put my daughter to sleep and that is what it cost. I explained to her that I paid $ 2000 plus for the first procedure that Dr. recommended and now his work was not done correctly, this is his mistake not mine. She asked if they should set up the appointment and I said NO, I don’t think I should have to pay. I left the office. After all this I went to my daughter’s Ortho and they explained that I should have never gotten the tooth bonded and should have just extracted the tooth, I explained that the Oral surgeon suggested saving the tooth. The Ortho dentist said the Oral surgeon basically convinced you into getting a different procedure done which he made a significant amount of money. If the tooth would have been pulled the procedure would have been around $ 400 if not less. At this point looking back I see how Dr. Wright practices are comparable to a con-​artist since they are scamming people into work they don’t need and when they get confronted they ignore you. I have tried numerous times to contact Dr. Wright’s office since my daughters visit and they keep telling me that they will call me back-​the receptionist is very rude and by now knows who I am. When she asked for my name and phone number to call me back she confirms it with a different name, as if they are trying to make me mad and laugh at the situation. I have never dealt with this type of situation and have always considered professional recommendations but now I have seen the greedy side of people and know they don’t have your best interest. I know now what to be aware of in the future. Anyone reading this should AVOID — DR. Ronald Wrights– Exchange, unless you want to get scammed.

I had a great experience at this office. I saw Dr. Wright for a dental implant due to a failed root canal. The doctor is board certified, which I’m finding is not a requirement in the state of California. After checking and comparing other board-​certified surgeons, I found his fees to be somewhere in the middle. I could get it cheaper if I went with someone who was not a surgeon, such as a dentist, or not board-​certified, but when it comes to my health, especially surgery, I insist on the highest level of training. His staff was very friendly and my experience was painless. I have recommended my friends and they have all had the same experience. The building is older but his suite was nice and clean.
Why do people think they dont have to pay for a consultation? If you talk to a lawyer, you pay. Even if you talk to a plumber, you pay. Why should talking to your doctor be free? Insurance companies don’t want to pay the doctors and people think consultations should be free… and you wonder why health care is such an issue in this country and our brightest kids don’t want to become doctors anymore. I don’t get it!

I didn’t actually go through with the surgery at this doctor’s office, but they did leave me with a bad taste in my mouth.
I brought my own X-​ray and still had to pay for a consultation, which was essentially me sitting and watching a DVD for five minutes and then being eagerly rushed into making an appointment by the doctor, even though they couldn’t tell me how much the procedure would cost because they didn’t belong to my insurance. They said my consultation would be covered by my insurance but labeled it as an «exam» and my insurance only covers one exam per six months. I got random messages on my phone from their office but they never said anything about an outstanding balance. When I finally called back, they told me they’d been sending me a bill each month for five or six months, which was a flat-​out lie because I never received one bill.
They are very efficient though; they wasted no time cashing my check.
