Dog’s Day Out

They raised the price and did not change it on the website. There is no signage to let you know the price change, so they just surprise you with a much larger price when you come to pick up your pet (and don’t expect any sympathy or compensation for their mistakes). I called a month in advance to make sure I had a reservation, when I got there, they had no clue and did not have the reservation but «it’s fine, we have plenty of room». When I came back to pick up my pets, they could not find the paperwork of when I dropped them off and it took 15 mins of searching and me explaining what my pets looked like to get them back! I will NEVER return here.

Things have changed at Dog’s Day Out and I don’t think it’s for the better. The prices have increased, but I don’t believe the quality of care has. Carley, our dog, seems to be afraid and not want to go in when she used to be excited when we entered the parking lot. She’s also come back to us thinner than when we left her. She only spends 2 – 3 nights there and I don’t think she should loose this much weight during this time frame. We never recognize the staff anymore and I think Carley has just become a number there. We might consider looking for a new kennel in 2016.

I’ve been taking my dogs here for the last five years, Terry has trained one dog so well there was no need to have the others trained they just followed after him. They never seem to fear my large dogs and they always come home clean and well looked after. Not to say I never had a few minor problems but they were always addressed and never happened again. I guess I just don’t get all these bad reviews.

We took our corgi in to a express grooming which is to 2 hours or less 4.5 hours later. groomer didn’t read what services he was getting think he was getting summer cut he was shaved complete now he’s wrapped in a blanket to keep warm

I am so very sad about our last visit at Dog’s Day Out. Our dogs were taken in for their annual «Summer Cut’ but one came home with a clipper cut that we didn’t know was there… until two days later when we noticed a large area of infection. We took him to the vet who agreed it was from clippers, he had developed a rather nasty infection at this point. I contacted Dog’s Day Out just to notify them of the incident, the new manager was very concerned and assured me the owner would call me when she returned from out of town. I received a call but it was during work and I was tied up in meetings, I called back that afternoon but have not received a return call nor have they acknowledged it was their groomer who caused it. To date the dog has been on 10 days of antibiotics, topical wound care, horrible pain and itching, and expenses that have now exceeded $ 200.00. The wound began as a one inch laceration, it is now the size of a grapefruit… horrible. As I said, very sad about this, we’ve always had great experiences.

We took our puppy there 2 years ago and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! I called everyday to check on her and I would get reports that she was doing great. I had paid for her to have playtime and the first three days I was told she didn’t get playtime, but then I was told yes she did get playtime with another puppy. I felt uneasy, but we were out of town and I has to believe they were taking good care of her. When we picked her up a week later she didn’t seem herself at all. I asked if she had had any trouble or if they had noticed anything while she was there, I was told that dogs can take a little while to readjust. We got her home and she went straight to the backyard and curled up in a ball. She would eat or drink or play! I called them back and asked if any of the dogs had been sick and I let them know I was worried about our sweet girl– I was told that she was probably just upset that she had been away from home and that this was very normal. The next morning she was worse! I took her to the vet and she had a high fever, we ended up at animal hospital with iv fluids and many blood tests. The vet sd her pupils were not evenly displayed which meant she had either gotten in to something toxic or she had a concussion. It took weeks for her to recuperate! We would drop her off at the vet every day so she could be monitored while we were at work and we thought she might die. The day we went to er they asked me to call kennel again to get more information if anyone knew anything about her hitting her head or if any dogs were sick. I was told again no– but not one person said one thing about her being sick or in the animal hospital and nobody ever called later to check on her. It took over a week to get rid of fever and then she was normal puppy again. Now we only board her with the vet. This place is horrible. We spent a small fortune at animal hospital and vet and not even a «we are so sorry she was hurt here». Horrible horrible business.

Very aggravated by these people. They seemed to have taken ok care of my dog but they were not helpful or did not offer extra information about pricing. I guess I should assume that there is an extra charge for late Sunday pick up but I didn’t think about and they certainly didn’t tell me until I was there to pick her up. I could have changed my arrival schedule.
The employees stand around and take smoke breaks in the front. Seems like they could be cleaning or visiting the dogs. I will never bring a dog here again or pay them another penny.
There are so many great reasonably priced kennels in the Humble/​Kingwood area, please find somewhere else.

After using them for over a year I am never going back because of my dog’s last 3 visits there. After using this place for boarding and groom for well over a year I can no longer recommend them. Yesterday when I picked up my dog was the last straw. She has a very large cut/​gash under her left eye. The front desk person had no explanation, other than maybe when she went out she hurt herself on something. If so then that «something» should not be in the dog’s area. I inspected her before I left yesterday because last month the groomer cut her paw and she was bleeding when I got her home. And a couple of months before that she caught kennel cough there. It seems that in the past 3 or 4 months they dont actually care or look after your animal. Shame on you for hurting my dog… I will NEVER go there again!
