We were founded in 1874 and continue to do business the old fashioned way. We help you figure out what you need to get your projects done and then help you put all the pieces together.

We have those hard to find items that the big boxes won’t carry, including over 5,000 types of screws, nuts and bolts including metric, graded and stainles steel.

We are paint experts, featuring Benjamin Moore Paint and custom blending and paint matching.

We offer Stihl, Honda, Snapper and RedMax power equipment including:

* String Trimmers, Brush Cutters & Chain Saws

* Lawn Mowers & Tractors

* Snow blowers

Our Service Department has been helping our customers for 50 years and have the only Master Technician and Stihl Gold MasterWrench technician in the area. We offer pickup and delivery service and repair all major brands of lawn mowers, tractors, snow blowers and small engine powered equipment.

We are the oldest and largest equipment rental service in the area.

History

Established in 1874.

Robinsons Hardware was opened (only 6 years after the town of Hudson by John Henry Robinson and John Holden. In the late 1880’s Sid Robinson bought out Holden and the store was known as J. H. & S. M. Robinson and in 1931 the name was changed to Robinsons Hardware Company.

In 1963, Norm and Marion Underwood took over ownership of the company and added a Tay-​Lo Rental Franchise making them one of the very first Taylor Rental franchisees.

The business continued to grow and prosper. In April, 1974 the business moved to their current location and son Dirk joined the business. He was followed by his brothers Kim in 1978 and Jeff in 1982.

In 1996 the family mourned the passing of Marion and in 1997 Norm turned control of the business to the three brothers. Normed passed in 2000 and it seemed as if all of Hudson mourned the loss.

The third generation of Underwoods is now helping run the stores and we continue to do business the way our father and grandfather taught us.

Business Owner

Kim, along with his brothers Jeff and Dirk is the owner of Robinsons Hardware & Rental. Their parent’s Norm and Marion purchased the business in 1963.

They run things the old fashioned way, where a customer is welcomed and appreciated. Be sure to join us Saturday mornings for coffee and donut holes.
