Westside Automotive

This was my first time having my Toyota Camry serviced at Westside Automotive, and decided to give them a try when my engine light came on, and the car would act like it was going to cut off.
Based on the Unilocal reviews, that prompted me to bring my car there for service. Andy was super nice and walked me thru what was going on with the ignition coil, and how when changing the spark plugs, can easily get damaged if not careful on the Toyotas. They diagnosed the ignition coil and the connectors that were burning out from the damaged coil. They were able to fit me in on a day they were full, quote me for the service, which was in line with what I researched online. And so far, it seemed to have solved my issue. I think I have found my new repair shop for my car close to home. And on top of that, they washed my car… big bonus for me, as I hating washing my car.
So I was very happy with the service, and will definitely be back. Andy took really good care of my peace of mind and my car!

I have been a loyal customer for going on close to 10 years. All of the mechanics are customer service oriented and professional. The quality of work is outstanding. I won’t take my vehicle anywhere else. Westside Automotive specializes in Volvo’s; if you own a Volvo and are experiencing any problems «Go see Wayne» I can assure you the results will be worth your while. The rates are competitive and work is completed in a timely manner. The only mechanic I have experienced that actually gave me peace of mind.

I have done multiple labors at Westside Automotive, minor and major ones, all of them were optimal. Wayne and his employees are very competent in every aspect, mainly analyzing and accurately diagnosing problems. I’m always satisfied even though I have to drive for an hour sometimes to get there.

Andy and Wayne are so helpful. Have used them since I moved to Houston a year ago. Excellent service and communication.

We have been servicing three cars (Volvo, Honda and Mazda) over the past 8 years and are so grateful for their invaluable expertise, professionalism, honesty and helpfulness. We used to use the brand garage for services and the costs went down significantly after we started using Westside Automotive.
Also added benefit is a free loaner (if arranged ahead of time) but most of all is the Trust, we never worry and always have been well advised and taken care by Wayne and his team. We can’t recommend him enough.

Well my Bessie, an 11yr old Camry, broke down on me in the middle of rush hour on a busy street — but that’s another story. After doing some research I found this place and they were near my house. They had good reviews so that was a bonus too. I called them up and they said they could check her out. They were very friendly and they gave me a quote to have her towed, but I did find a better deal for about 15.00 bucks cheaper. I realize it’s just 15 bucks, but when you’ve just spent 650.00 bucks on your car just one week ago it all starts to add up. Now granted, they did NOT do the previous repairs costing me that money.
I had a gut feeling it was the alternator since it went electrical haywire and died while running, then did the ‘dead battery’ start. This wasn’t my first alternator rodeo either … you’d think I would know how to change my own by now! So I talk to the guys and let them know what happened, left my keys and number, then went about my day. I got a call later and they said they thought it was just my battery. I said that’s weird — I just got a new one last year — and the car died while running. But hey, I’m not a trained mechanic. We discussed the thought process of this and I said OK to getting a new one. Several hours later I received a second call stating, nope it’s the alternator. REALLY? You don’t say!!! I was kinda peeved by this, but they said they’d put a new one in and not charge me labor. Total cost for new battery (which they said I still needed) and the alternator was just under 500.00. I think the price was fair and what I expected. They were really nice guys to work with too. The car has been running fine so far, though my check engine light came on for about 6 hours one day — but hey it’s off again — so I don’t have to worry RIGHT? ;)
I’m always weary about mechanics, but I’d give them a call again if needed.

Wayne is a very knowledgeable and honest mechanic. He took a job that was quoted to me at a different shop for $ 1800 and identified the correct problems for a fraction of the cost of the other shop. Not only that, but he was kind enough to give me a ride to my office down the street and pick me up when my car was ready same day AND offered to do a follow up on my car in a few weeks. I highly recommend having Wayne take a look at your vehicle whatever the issue!

This place is great!
I was having trouble starting my car in the mornings. I had my battery and alternator checked at a local Autozone and was told that my alternator was going bad and I was going to need to replace it.
I called Westside Automotive to get a quote on replacing the part. I made arrangements to bring my car in to get the repairs done. To my surprise when I went in, they informed me that my battery and alternator was perfectly fine and they just need to clean the battery cables and connections.
I was MORE than impressed! As a woman who doesn’t know much about cars, the one thing I always worry about when it comes to getting my car repaired is that I’m going to get ripped off like I have in the past. They could have very well went ahead and installed the new part just to make some money, but instead, they were honest with me about the real problem with my car. Not only were they honest, but the service was quick and they were SUPER friendly!
They have won a new customer for life! Anytime I need car repairs from now on, I will take my car to them. I recommend them to anyone!

It was my first time here after purchasing a Living Social for this place, and I am very impressed. The employees are courteous and worked quickly to get me in. Most importantly, THEY DID NOT TRY TO UPSELL ME.
Every auto place I’ve been to has managed to find something wrong with my car, in addition to the service I had done. But for the first time, the mechanic told me there were no problems and that everything was good to go. There were no surprise charges or hidden fees. These guys are so honest!
I’ll keep going to this place since their services were reasonably priced as well. Their hourly rate was the lowest I have seen in Houston!

This is hands down the only place to go for car repairs! Completely honest, does a great job and never tries to make you fix more than you need!
I went to onenplace to diagnose a rattle noise on my car. Went to Wayne at Westside for a second opinion… he found a simple problem and fixed it for free (loose part rattle by wheel)!!

The words honest and mechanic are reunited when it comes to Westside Auto. Wayne was so helpful and nice that I forgot I was dealing with an auto shop! I am spoiled in that my father in law is a mechanic in Beaumont and I haven’t had to deal with one in a few years. When my roomates car broke down I wasn’t sure where to turn in Houston. I checked out some reviews and ended up on the phone with Wayne. He was helping me out in a matter of minutes and was so honest and efficient. I am so impressed and thrilled with their service. Wayne is the best!
