Favorite place to go to anytime that I can’t decide what to eat, fries are always forever satisfying! Very cheap and chill atmosphere to hang out at. The owner is super friendly and sweet every time he takes care of me and my gal, not to mention he remembers our ’ special order ’ that we always get since I’m very picky every time we go there! Nothing can beat these fries honestly, forget Café 101, Kravin, etc.

I love the sugar cane drink from this place! It is so fresh. I can also say the same for the boba! This place is a must to try if you want a good sugar cane drink. I also like the atmosphere of it, it’s never too packed so there isn’t a lot of noise so it’s a great place to study unlike the other places farther down Chinatown.

I came here because I was craving for fries and was nearby and decided to try it out. The trang fries are indeed $ 5 which is great but it’s CHiCKEN! Who eats chicken with their fries?! I got beef instead and it costed $ 6.25 and an egg would cost .75 cents extra. Either way, it’s still cheap and so good! I didn’t think it would be but I’d give it a(4⁄5). The food do take forever to be made, about 15min or more. the nuggets I’d give a(2⁄5) only because it’s really bland and then at the end you feel a little flavor lol. Milk tea I’d give a(3⁄5) it’s not bad, just too sweet and it is pre made but he tells me he makes me fresh every morning. Thanh is very nice and welcoming. First time I met him, he talked to me like I knew him from way before lol

I came into Viva Juice Coffee and Tea after my dentist appointment. Had some time to pass before heading to work so I dropped into this little café. I was greeted kindly by Thanh and he was quite patient with me as I decided on my order. I finally opted for the coffee milk tea with tapioca. Thought it would be a good choice to get in slight caffeine before work. They have many beverage flavors here as most tapioca cafes would offer. I was quite happy with my order as I sat down and drank my cold and creamy milk tea. The owners were kind enough to use milk in my coffee rather than non dairy creamer. Pretty good tapioca. The pearls were sweet in flavor and had a nice chewy yet firm bite. Just the right consistency! I am quite picky with tapioca tea’s but they deliver a great product and i’ll definitely be back when i’m in the area.

The food here is decent. It’s cheap and its pretty good, but the wait time is long. I understand that you have to add ice but filling half the cup is pretty cheap in my opinion. The Trang fries were good and spicy, but the food was cool by the time it came out which was weird. Everything from the fries, beef, cheese, and the egg was barely warm when I got it. I know that it takes a while for the fries to cool because I make them at home so it just makes me wonder how long my fries were sitting there while I was waiting. The only reason I can think of is that they did not want the food to burn through the Togo box. But they were too cheap to buy parchment paper to put underneath the food. But come on, really? I might come back, but next time I’ll tell them to give me less ice and hope my food would be more fresh.

I can count how many tapiocas were in my drink, and it’s very very few. Way too soft too. Maybe I didn’t choose the right drink, but it’s so bland it feels like it’s been sitting there for a while and all the ice melted.

I love this place! Their drinks are so fresh and not too sweet or too bland. The tapioca is perfect and doesn’t get hard after a long period of time in cold smoothies. I also had their trang fries, which were one of the best fries I’ve had compared to other places and food trucks. Oh! And the service is always on point! Viva is definitely my new fave place to be.

The French fries and popcorn chicken here is amazing. The French fries are pretty cheap. It’s $ 5 and you would usually find it for around $ 8. And the popcorn chicken is really tender. And very delicious. Looks like I found a new hangout spot to snack on!

My younger cousins took me here on a whim on a Friday afternoon to try their Nha Trang fries. The guy working behind the counter was really chill and helped us with what we ordered. I’m not sure what my cousins got but I got the Sugarcane drink(Nuoc Mia) and it was simply amazing! The best part? I requested less ice and they still didn’t skimp me out on the quantity of the sugarcane. Usually at other places, like Lee’s sandwich, when you ask for less ice, they leave 1⁄10th of the cup empty… which wasn’t the case here, it was up to the rim! Nha Trang fries — these were like the Vietnamese version of the KimChi fries that you find at Chilantros or Oh My Gogi! These were really hot and crispy, they added shredded chicken instead of the korean bulgogi here. The only down side of these fries was that they put way, way too much cheese. Other than that, the fries were delicious! I would definitely stop by this place again if I’m in town! :)

Their vietnamese coffee is horrible, extremely sweet and watery. Can not compare to lee’s, njoy or boba zone at all!!!

Though the«Universal Shopping Center,» or more popularly recognized for the Vietnam War Memorial Statue plaza or even the Asian OG Maxim Club Plaza, wouldn’t typically be my first thought for a stop in Chinatown, this place is definitely worth giving a shot for a good tapioca kick! Granted there are a billion other tapioca joints down Bellaire and this place isn’t nearly as busy or glamorous as Chinatown glamour can get for us young Asian-American consumers, but not having to fight for a parking spot on a busy weekend among(bad Asian) drivers is definitely a plus and not to mention good service and delicious popcorn chicken!(My fav!) They’ve got all the variety of flavors you could ask for including Durian, Taro, freshly pressed sugarcane(their specialty) and willing to customize to your taste buds. I am an avid drinker of the artichoke tea and you can’t get that anywhere else besides Chinatown and so far this place is top pick for Artichoke Tea! Free wifi and a student friendly environment!

I’ve tried just about every tapioca place on Bellaire that you can think of and there’s certain things that keep me away and things that keep me coming back. Viva definitely has qualities that has me coming back. Try their Sugarcane drink with kumquat! So refreshing on a hot Houston day! I wasn’t even going to get this drink but the owner recommended it and said if I didn’t like it he would make me something else. I ended up loving it and will be ordering again. I also like their Jasmine milk tea. If you are a student, this is great because this drink keeps me up! Their tapioca is also soft and chewy. Taste fresh and not old. Fast and friendly service. It’s under new management and the owner was sweet enough to ask me if I had liked the drink I ordered last time. They remembered! The checkout person also reminded me to get my frequent reward card stamped. Restrooms are clean. I hate going into a store with a dirty restroom, just grosses me out, and leaves me thinking what the kitchen must look like. Free wifi! I will be coming back for sure and supporting this store!

I really like this place because: 1) It’s off the«main strip» of China Town. It gets super crazy packed from HK to Tan Tan, so I appreciate the less«glitzy» side of town. 2) They’re switching management, and the new owner was really nice. I couldn’t decide what to get, so he made me something off menu. He put in a bit of orange, so it was refreshing and crisp. Haven’t gotten anything with orange at a boba place. 3) They’ll be getting food/snacks next month. 4) Tables and wifi. I think it’s quiet enough to study. 5) The boba was good. The consistency wasn’t too chewy and not too soft/hard. Perfect middle tier. I really like this place. Will probably be here some more to study.
