Bbh is still very good here and the service is prompt and really efficient. Always like I remember it, highly recommended again. Food is on point and I tried a TARO smoothie yesterday and surprising very good. Let it be known I’m not a big taro person whatsoever. Two thumbs up for Taro drink

Been here a few times and every time it has been consistent with the flavor. Definitely worth the money which is very affordable and love their drink menu. Highly recommend this place.

Amazing is the only word I can use to describe it. Came here for my birthday lunch with my family. It was my husbands first time. I definitely promise it won’t be his last time. I knew he would love it. Its the Vietnamese version of menudo is how I described it to him. Only one item and no menu but trust me you won’t go wrong. Its definitely got a hole in the wall presentation but its ok because those tend to be the best to eat at.

One of my favorite Vietnamese food is bun bo hue. This place is known for their bun bo hue and they only have that on their menu. Haha. Anyways pretty good, nothing bad to say since I love bun bo hue. They also have tapioca which isn’t the best but alright.

Bun Bo Hue lovers can jump for joy here! When a place has no menus and only serves ONE dish, you know it has to be legit! I have been in search of good BBH in Chinatown for quite some time and Bun Bo Hue Duc Chuong certainly did deliver. One note on the location of this small shopping strip: if you’re heading west on Bellaire from Beltway 8, then the restaurant will be on your left after passing Ocean Palace but before Baneway Drive. Their exterior Boba Tea signage can be misleading but they do in fact serve up BBH! Basically there are two bowl size options for your BBH, small or large. I was too hungry to even worry about what to drink besides my usual glass of water, although next time, I’ll try the«nuoc mat» per Unilocaler recommendations. Our group dined here for an early lunch on the weekend and we were all very happy with our BBH experience. As a spicy lemongrass, beef & pork noodle soup, BBH is packed with spices and flavor explosions. Be sure to add some mam tom(shrimp paste), lime juice, fresh veggies/herbs(banana blossoms, red cabbage, bean sprouts, mint, Vietnamese coriander, cilantro, onions), and spice it up more with chili sauce if you prefer. Fermented shrimp paste is definitely not for the faint of heart as it smells putrid but adds a level of flavor and complexity to the BBH broth. BBH comes with slices of beef shank, pork leg/feet, slices of Vietnamese ham, and cubed pieces of congealed pig’s blood. I ordered a small bowl of BBH(seemed more like a medium size), which was more than enough to satisfy my appetite. Service was quick, efficient, and our food came out in a timely fashion, leaving us free to wander Chinatown for more good eats/drinks. We came with cash and didn’t even worry about trying to pay with a credit card. Regular patrons to Chinatown know that cash is always king over here in most places. Your search for one of the best Bun Bo Hue in Chinatown ends here!

Love it… reminds me of my mother. BBH here is the best in Houston. The new renovation made it more spacious.

This is my go to place for bun bo hue whenever I’m in Chinatown and craving BBH before 4pm. I’m not sure if all the Duc Chuong are owned by the same people but there is definitely an inconsistency in the quality of the food. My favorite DC is the one up on 249. I always get bun bo hue at this place. Haven’t tried any of their fancy drinks other than water or hot tea. I have been coming here for a while and I did notice the dropping of quality since last year. Still haven’t dropped it enough for me to stop coming though. This location is a bit small. It is never busy whenever I’m here. They shared a parking lot with other stores in the same complex. The service is what you would expected for a Vietnamese restaurant. Service is fast since bun bo hue is mostly want they serve. Overall, I would recommend this place since I haven’t found another place that is better than Duc Chuong in this area.

Ahhhh! This place never disappoint. You know when you’re craving a nice bowl of noodle soup after a night of drinking? Well for my boyfriend and I it’s more bun bo hue versus phở. Everyone goes for phở when their dehydrated and hungover. We on the other hand crave some bomb spicy bun bo hue. We’ve been here more than our fingers can be counted and every single time it has served us well. How can you not love a place with no menu? Why? Because they only serve bun bo hue! Small or large is all the option you can get. Of course they have a drink menu but I mean why bother when you can just order their awesome«nuoc mat» which loosely translating it as «refreshment». So next time you’re Hungover after a heavy night of drinking. Drive down bellaire. Skip all the phở restaurants. And turn into bun bo hue duc chuong at midnite(don’t ask me about that end title. I got no clue) you’ll thank me for it.

I can’t say that i’m a fan but it was somewhat good overall. I wasn’t blown away but i wasn’t disappointed either. I’ll try their«midnight» location and hopefully I like that better. I’m new to Houston and still on the search for Bun Bo Hue that blows me away.

Must order: Bun Bo hue + Nuoc mat(cooling drink) Quick service and consistent broth whether you’re dining in or getting Togo. This is my goto place for satisfying my bun Bo hue craving. And yes, get the Nuoc mat drink, your burning mouth will thank you. The smell of the broth is intoxicating, and there is no conversation needed during devouring of the meal. You will customize the flavors by adding shrimp paste and chili sauce as desired. Fresh squeeze of lime to bring in all the flavors. Remember to add the fresh herbs and veggies, bit by bit as you eat so they don’t get soggy. Enjoy!

First time i tried bun bo hue was here. Guess im spoiled now. I liked it, don’t know any better and have nothing to compare it to. I’d go again. The small is huge and large is insane. The only thing I didnt like was walking through trash to get into the store. The parking lot literally looked like a landfill. Who enjoys walking through trash? It was disgusting.

I have not tried alot but been to bun bo hue places in several different cities, but this the best I have had. This place only specializes in bun bo hue. The only down side was the regular bowl was too small I wish I wasnt soo full from the other food i ate earlier The meat was soft, the blood was good, pork feet was soft, broth was good.

I’ve been coming every time I visit Houston for the past 5 years. And most of the time it does not disappoint. But the few recent visits that I’ve had, including this past weekend, was a bit lacking. The broth lacked flavor and spice. I found myself adding over 4 spoonfuls of the sate, adding nuoc mam, and the mam tom to it. I love that the vegetables are mixed though! I probably eat more veggies and noodles than I do meat! I still give it four stars because… They used to be sooooo good! And, overall, I will come back, but I hope they will be more consistent with their BBH!

Best bun bo hue! Awesome food and awesome service. The broth is bursting with flavor! If you’re looking for comfort vietnamese soup, this is the spot. Don’t forget the nuoc mat, they compliment each other.

if you’re craving for your mother’s homecooked BBH then come here. This is exactly where I go when I’m craving a delicious bowl of this spicy noodle soup. Learned from a friend that you can ask them to cut your bones for you… meaning they’ll cut those big pork feet up into forths so you won’t have to make a mess eating them! Love that!

I went for some sushi early this week but they were on vacation so I headed on out Bellaire confident that I would find something good to eat. When I saw the Bun Bo Hue sign I almost caused a wreck whipping it into the parking lot. I thought it was funny when the waiter cautioned me they ONLY served Bun Bo Hue but I got a big smile when I told him that was why I stopped. The bowls are big, the broth is good, and I was happy to see the shrimp paste on the table in mass quantities. The noodles were very good and they have some different herbs than what I’m used to which were also very tasty. The amount of meat and the variety of meats in their Bun Bo Hue was on the slim side. I’ll definitely give them another try when I’m in the area but until then Kim Chau on Long Point still has the best Bun Bo Hue in Houston IMO !!

Hands down, BEST bun bo hue in Houston. I’ve tried bun bo hue at almost all the places that I can which includes, Kim Chau, Huynh, Phở Nguyen, etc. You get the drift. It has the perfect amount of flavor and the meats were tasty. Soo good.

A small Vietnamese joint serving up a mean bowl of bun bo hue. Although it’s a little difficult to see behind the behemoth that is Hong Kong City Mall, Boba T2 is located in a small complex at the corner of Bellaire and Baneway Drive. In addition to the complex’s rather small parking lot, you can find street parking on Baneway. Boba T2 is a clean(for Chinatown standards) but tiny restaurant when you enter — seating no more than20– 30 diners at a time. During high-traffic times, the waiters don’t hesitate to seat you next to a couple at a table for 4 if it means it saves them room and a waiting line. The turnover is quite quick though, since this place only serves up one noodle soup dish and a handful of boba(tapioca-based) drinks. Bun Bo Hue(or BBH) — 4.5 — This is one solid bowl of Vietnamese noodle soup! In contrast to your typical light and zesty broth for the ever-famous phở, BBH’s broth is this rich paprika-colored beef-based broth laced with lemongrass. It’s served with loads of meat, pork blood cubes(yep, it’s like jello!), a hunk of pig’s feet, and yummy noodles. Definitely be sure to add as much of the vegetables as you can to your bowl, in addition to a nice squeeze of lime juice. They serve large and small bowls of BBH, and I found that the small bowl is quite filling for myself and my hubby. Nuoc Mac — 3.5 — Sure, it’s a yummy refreshing neon-green drink filled with coconut jelly and basil seeds, but it’s just too overpriced and sugary for me. I really only get it for the novelty of it. Be sure to check out Boba T2 if you are craving for a warm bowl of tasty noodle soup and are searching for an authentic Vietnamese restaurant that promises to deliver some of the best BBH in town. TIP: There’s a $ 10 minimum for credit card transactions.

Duc Chuong is a tiny restaurant in a tiny shopping center not too far away fron HK4. They only serve one dish here! Bun Bo Hue. Bun Bo Hue is a very meaty noodle soup. It’s a lot different than your traditional Vietnamese Phở. The broth is dark and more flavorful(lemongrass and chili) and it comes with an assortment of different meats. Bun bo hue has to be my 2nd favorite vietnamese noodle dish next to phở and this place knows how to make it right! The broth was delicious and they gave plenty of veggies and meat. One thing I have to say about their soup here that I’m very impressed with is that it comes out piping hot. Throughout your whole meal, your bowl will be hot! That’s the right way to eat this stuff! No cold soup here. Very authentic almost homemade taste. The only gripe I have is that it’s kind of expensive! Quick tip: If you want to get the most out of your money order a large order to-go! They give you so much food for $ 10 and it’s enough to split between 2. It can get pretty packed here at peak times so be careful, it’s a tiny restaurant! Definately would come back.
