Individuals Therapy for struggles with personal concerns such as grief, loss, guilt shame, and interpersonal difficulties.

Blended families are helped with the special issues that arise as the new family attempts to build their new lives. Parenting issues are usually the main concern, as they should be.

Misti offers groups for Forgiveness and Reconciliation, Parenting Adult Children (Re-​nesters), Be Transformed (Christian Identity), and Premarital Workshops.

History

Established in 2013.

Misti Nielsen, MA, LMFT Associate opened Turn The Tide Family Services PLLC in July, 2013. She has helped many individuals, couples, and families along their journey to psychological, emotional, and spiritual health.

Misti remains active in several local mental health professional organizations. She has published articles in newsletters of these organizations as well as presenting on Forgiveness.

Misti offers presentations that include topics on Couple Relationships, Forgiveness, Women’s Issues, and Effective Fatherhood.

Business Owner

Misti is passionate about marriage and family as designed by God. She answered God’s call to become a Marriage and Family Therapist so she could work with distressed couples in an effort to not just avoid divorce, but build healthy, fulfilling relationships. Misti is trained in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy. She also incorporates Scripture, when requested by her clients.

With real life experience as a child of divorced and remarried parents, Misti understands how difficult it is to be emotionally stable when one’s loyalty is divided. She has searched for best practice in helping establish better understanding and relationships for step-​families.

Misti is married to her best friend, Ken. Together they have 5 children and 9 grandchildren (so far). She volunteers at her church, gardens, decorating, entertaining, and encouraging others.
