We provide one of the most recognized Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for drug and alcohol addiction for men and women. This treatment program is for you or a loved one who need to address their addiction to drugs or alcohol and are not able to, or do not need to enter residential treatment. Our professional counselors will help you become sober and then maintain that sobriety without greatly interrupting your daily work, or school schedule.

History

Established in 1990.

The Right Step started in 1990 as an extended care facility for men. It continued as a single-​site operation until 1994 when George Joseph stepped into the role of CEO. He brought a combination of effective clinical skills and a fresh approach to the delivery of quality addiction treatment. Most importantly, George brought his unmatched vision and dedication to recovery.

With George at the helm, supported by a skilled clinical and administrative team, his vision took form. Today, The Right Step is the largest private chemical dependency treatment provider in the Southwest. The Right Step is nationally accredited by the Joint Commission.

Meet the Manager

Tammy S.

Manager

Tammy Samour is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), Alcohol & Drug Counselor (ADC), certified teacher, and Substance Abuse Professional (SAP). Tammy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business & accounting and her Master of Science degree in counselling psychology. After leaving her corporate business career, Tammy spent the last 15 years in humanities including teaching & counseling in the public school system, and counseling children, adolescents, and families ranging from mental health to addiction.

In 2012, Tammy formed the company AOD Resource (Alcohol & Other Drugs Resource, Pllc) to provide alcohol & drug evaluations, substance abuse education, counseling, return to duty programs, and substance abuse treatment. Tammy is very excited to be affiliated with The Right Step and is looking forward to growing The Right Step Clear Lake location by offering quality affordable services and creative effective programs.
