Tres Jolie Laser

The best laser treatment I have had yet! I absolutely love Catherine and will be starting another section of treatment in January. I tell all my friends about this place!

NOT WORTH IT… I bought a package from Groupon and I had wait three months for my appointment Finally I come in and Katherine wasnt even in, I had to wait 30 minutes for her. She did the treatment and it lasted for about 2 minutes, it did hurts but I didn’t get burnt or anything. Another 3 ½ months passed and I am still waiting for my second appointment, this is ridiculous so I think you definitely get what you pay for. They dont do any kind of follow ups or anything and you have to beg for an appointment on something you had already paid for.

I’m so glad I’m never going back. This laser hurts! I’ve had my bikini (major sensitive area), legs, and arm pits lasered and nothing even comes close to this place. I’m so glad I only had my upper lip done. It feels like your skin is on fire. Catherine has burned my lip once and this last time, I think she burned my skin. The laser is horrible and she doesn’t know how to use the laser properly without burning clients. Find somewhere else to have your laser hair removal done. Please!

This place can be better. Catherine is friendly but is not big on conversations. I always have the feeling that she wants me out of the room as soon as the treatment is done.
I recently finished 6 treatments, although the hair are not completely eliminated, it is what I expected for the price that I paid for. My treatments lasted less than 5 minutes total and I am usually in and out of the «room» in less than 10 minutes. It has been two weeks since my last treatment and I still have burn marks on my skin.
The fact that this laser treatment office is inside another salon is kind of weird at first. Everybody else in the salon doesn’t care about you. You walk in and not a single person would greet you or even acknowledge your existence. They look you straight in the eye and do nothing. On my first visit, I waited 30 minutes because nobody told Catherine that I was there and I didn’t even know which «room» this treatment is suppose to happen. It seems that every employee in this salon only cares about their own individual clients.

Horrible atmosphere as it’s a tiny room located in the back of a hair salon. Limited appointment availability as there’s only 1 employee. No concern with results at all, just getting your money.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I was going here after reading the reviews and all. I had purchased a livingsocial deal for them. A friend had already started her treatments and had positive things to say so that gave me hope.
First, the actual office for tres jolie is in a hair salon! What the heck! It would be good to know that when you’re looking for it. When I got to the suite number, I assumed that maybe it had shut down and a salon opened there instead. DISLIKE! So I went inside and asked where it was and the receptionist (helped me but wasn’t very friendly) informed me it was in there.
Long story short, apparently you have to have white skin for the only laser she has, so if you tan, or are naturally any darker then white, don’t waste your time looking into the place. I really wish I had known this before purchasing, or waiting so long (2 months!) till my appointment.
I must say, I appreciate that she was honest with me about the skin color thing because she could have easily just went along the way and taken my money! She seemed very nice and referred me to another place.

WOW! What a disaster! I waited 3 months for my first appointment (which was for underarms… literally a 2 minute procedure). The «scheduling manager» insisted that she couldn’t book me bc there were not spaces in the computer and refused to hear my logic that this was a 5 minute appointment, at most, and surely they could fit me in. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE GROUPON PRICE — let alone full price. Stay away

I am really frustrated with this place. I bought a Groupon when it first came out for laser hair removal sessions for $ 99. I have been to two appointments, had Catherine no-​show one appointment, and have tried to schedule my third appointment from the answering service since Catherine is no longer managing her own schedule. I was told the first two times I called that there were no appointments within the timeframe that Catherine recommended I return but she would call me back to work me in. She never called back after two messages. Then today I called to see how I can get the appointment scheduled, the lady receptionist tells me that I should have booked sooner and that the slots are taken by «paying customers» referring to anyone who would actually pay full price for this. I expressed my frustration about the new online scheduling system they have, which will only let you search one day at a time only to tell you there is nothing available, it does not allow you to search first available. Then she tells me my Groupon will expire anyway without me completing the 6 sessions, although I did everything in my power to schedule on time, not be late, it is not my fault Catherine oversold her Groupon, then decided to prioritize «paying customers» I would not return even if it was free! I am going to email Groupon to get my money back.

I had a very frustrating experience with Tres Jolie Laser and will not return. I purchased the 6-​treatment package deal through Living Social. I went for one treatment and got a refund on the remaining 5. I have to agree with the other Unilocalers that the location is very hard to find and of course no one offered any directions when I scheduled the appointment. Also, my appointment had to be scheduled 3 months out from when I called. In my opinion, if you are that busy you shouldn’t be promoting discount services to bring in even more business.
I am a veteran at laser hair removal — I have been to several salons for treatments on my abdomen, under arms, upper lip, and bikini line. I know what to expect and how the service should go. When I arrived for my appointment I wasn’t even sure if I was in the right place because there was no one there to greet me. Once Catherine arrived she told me she could not do the treatment due the medications I take. She acted as if it was someone else’s responsibility (not hers) to have told me that before I made an appointment. If that is an issue for her shouldn’t that have been made clear before I even purchased the 6-​treatment package?!? I had to convince her that I have never had an issue with any other salon performing the treatment and that I would not hold her liable — I had already waited 3 months and taken time out from my day to go to this appointment. I was not leaving without the service. The whole time I was there she made me feel like I was inconveniencing her.
Normally I would not have rescheduled with a company after such a frustrating experience but I had 5 more treatments that I had already paid for. So I went through her scheduling company (she cannot make the appointments) to schedule my next appointment. After making my next appointment, the scheduling company called me back on two different occasions asking if I could move my appointment up by 10 minutes each time. It seems to me that Catherine has other things she would rather do with her afternoon than wait around for clients. Again — if you aren’t interested in the new business don’t offer a deal on a package of treatments.
Ultimately, like I mentioned earlier, I was able to get a refund on the remaining 5 treatments (thanks to Living Social). I would definitely not recommend Tres Jolie Laser to anyone. There are much better service providers out there who welcome the business and make their customers feel appreciated.

Catherine is a flake! I went to Tres Jolie for my initial consultation and first appointment, she wasn’t even there. I waited 15 – 20 minutes for her to return from an impromptu lunch break. I forgave her the first time, but I soon found out that she routinely shows up late for appointments. I’ve also been called twice out of 4 appointments so far to reschedule. One time, I called back to find out I’d already been rescheduled for a new date and time, no notification!
Which brings me to another problem, the appointment process sucks! She used to book appointments herself, but got too busy apparently, so she hired a company to book appointments for her. I tried to schedule my 4^th appointment, and got placed on hold for over 20 minutes! Then the girl asked for my availability each day of the week and said she’d call me back. Surprise, surprise… she DIDN’T! I got a call 4 weeks later to confirm an appointment the following day, which I didn’t even know I had in the first place! To top it off, I had called for an appointment for 6 weeks from my last appointment, and they scheduled it for 4 weeks from my last treatment. If you’ve had laser hair removal before, you know you’re supposed to wait at least 5 – 6 weeks or it’s useless. Most hair follicles don’t regrow until 6 weeks after a treatment, so a 4 week appointment would have been a waste. Not to mention I was notified last minute about a 1:30pm appointment on a Friday, and I had to work.
I am very disappointed with the service and am glad to pay full price somewhere else! I highly recommend Desert in Bloom on Richmond as an alternative, just got a Living Social deal for them and they have been great!

Wow, I am really surprised after reading the negative reviews. I’ve been to 4 different places for laser hair removal, and my experiences at Tres Jolie and Amerejeuve (where Catherine used to work) have been the best. The fact that Tres Jolie is actually inside Figaro salon caused a little confusion on the first visit, but that was nothing to fuss about. When I arrived for my first visit, Catherine was on the phone at the time, so I had a seat for a bit. I understand that she had been busy because of the $ 99 MyDailyDeals that she had just advertised. I’m not sure if it’s because of my usual courtesy, but I for one am happy for businesses/​business owners when they’re busy, so it irritates me when I read about/​see customers who are IMPATIENT and think their time is so much more important than others.
In regard to the review I read about Catherine not having any bedside manner, I completely disagree!!! She makes me feel very comfortable and takes her time. I’m pretty sensitive to pain, so I’ll ask to her stop after every few zaps, and she’s always obliging. Yes, laser hair removal is painful no matter what laser is used on you, or who the esthetician is. No place who offers laser hair removal is going to lie to you and tell you it’s painless, or tell you that it’s painful for that matter. If you ask them, they will answer you. Bedside manner refers to how obliging and courteous one is to their customer. Not offering aloe vera or a cold compress does not mean the esthetician has «no bedside manner.» It’s simply a perk of some offices. Out of the 4 places I’ve been to, I’ve only been offered a cold compress at one place. The pain usually dissipates after a few minutes anyway.
Now, let’s get to the important stuff. Catherine uses the Candela GentleLase laser, and in my experience with over 15 sessions, this machine is THE BEST! I saw the best results with this laser after having tried 3 other laser machines. The pain is about the same across all of the machines I’ve tried, so that’s not really important to note when comparing. After my first underarm session at Tres Jolie, I didn’t even have to shave anymore! :) Soon to be grey-​free!

With 6 laser hair removal treatments for $ 99, I didn’t even bother checking out her website.
My only point of contact prior to the appointment was the «dailydeal» website and the phone.
I had 3 phone conversations prior to the appointment, and I was even told how to prepare for the treatment. Never in those three calls did the factor of skin tone come up in the conversation.
When I called «her office» for help with directions, the lady on the phone could only provide the name of a tiny street (Midlane) and Westheimer, rather than the nearest major intersection to help me locate the center.
The lady answering the phone explained she was from a call center and that she would forward my contact information to the owner to have her call me back for help with directions. She was too busy juggling things to ever return my call, and I found it on my own 10 minutes later.
When I arrived to Ste 116, I was actually at a hair salon called Figaro. The intense smell of chemicals made its invisible presence very clear. It smelled like a perm was in progress somewhere within the salon. As I was leaving, someone decided to have lunch and the smells mixed even further into a terrible smell concoction.
Since I entered through a second entrance, there was no friendly hostess to greet me or direct me to where I needed to go. No staff member of Figaro was available to direct me to the hostess or direct me to Tres Jolie. Blank stares and indifference said «not my job description.»
Once I arrived, Catherine was quite busy on the phone apologizing to another customer. Rather than a warm greeting and a smile, she didn’t waste a minute to explain she couldn’t treat tan skin with her laser.
I have been to three laser hair removal companies before Tres Jolie Laser, never had my skin color been an issue. It was surprising and uncomfortable for Catherine, to say outright, without much tact, that because of my medium skintone it wouldn’t be possible to have laser hair removal with her laser.
While I appreciate the safety disclosure, it bothers me is that she did not have a proper disclaimer on
website announcing her deal. It could have spared me the trouble, time, inconvenience, and discomfort had it been written in the description, limitations, conditions, or in a post-​purchase email.
Catherine is aware that not all group-​buying websites did not state the limitations of the laser she uses, yet she didn’t prompt them to email the buyers for adequate disclosure beforehand or to facilitate refunds.
It’s a waste of time and disappointment to drive to and fro from a business only to discover the treatment isn’t going to be safe.
She left her checkbook at home, so she couldn’t give the refund then and there but asked that I come back the next day for a refund, only increasing the inconvenience, making me regret even further that I ever came discovered Tres Jolie Laser.
I hope for the sake of future customers coming from group-​buying websites that the limitations are clear, that refunds process faster, and that she offers better phone support.
On the positive side, I will admit that Catherine seems to have good intentions in offering laser hair removal services. She’s polite. And I wish her the best, even if I will not be a customer.
