Description

Specialties

We host craft classes and workshops weekly, along with offering creative and customizable event packages for groups of all sizes. The Tinderbox also provides support to local artists by acting as a resource facility, retail center, and a place that fosters the relationship between artists and the community through education, exhibitions, and the promotion and sale of their handcrafted products. As an added bonus, all of the Makers in our brick & mortar space call the great state of Texas home.

History

Established in 2013.

We opened in April 2013 with the intent of creating a makersspace where anyone could come and learn a craft or skill in a fun and supportive environment. That vision has grown into a unique blend of a working craft studio and retail shop, where we sell a collection of quality goods that are handcrafted by talented independent artisans and host weekly DIY workshops and private events. Our online selection features a well-edited assortment of contemporary designers and independent labels made in the U.S. and our brick & mortar shop continues to carry made in Texas goods. The Tinderbox is much more than a place to shop & make things, it is a place where traditions are restored and craft is a verb. We hope everyone can become more conscience consumers and work more with their hands. There are so many reasons to buy handmade and enable amazing Makers, and learn to reintroduce traditional skills back into our everyday lives.
