The Dog Walker Houston

I had used the Dog Walkers before, and I loved them. We wanted to go back to them after a few years away, and met with Ben. We gave him our house key and were looking forward to using their services. Ben has since become totally non-​responsive. We have emailed the website, called the phone number repeatedly, and text as well to try to schedule walks. To date, we have never gotten a response. I have been shocked at the experience, and now we cannot even get a phone call to get our house key back.
Unfortunately, this business has really gone downhill. If they didn’t want our business for some reason, I would have appreciated being told upfront or at least having my house key returned.

I hired these guys for 5 days a week, 4 weeks a month. Service was decent until i needed to go out of town over a weekend. I emailed Ben 10 days in advance and his reply was
«Unfortunately all my employees that do pet sitting are completely booked up right now. We are always busier on holiday weekends. I have a good friend who owns her own pet sitting business who I send my clients over to if we are booked up. If you would like her information she may still have availability. We of course want to always help you guys out with pet sitting, but just for the future for weekends I would recommend at least 2 – 3 weeks booking prior to service as they get booked up and I only have two employees that can provide that service. «
I have had dog walkers for years and never heard of 2 – 3 weeks advance to book a weekend. The real shame here is that we discussed this in the initial interview and Ben basically wasted my time when i could have been using a dog walker who could cover with reasonable notice. My goal with a dog walker is to build a long lasting relationship between my dogs and that walker /​company. Not accomplished with «the dog walker»

I can’t say enough good things about Ben, the owner, and Derek, our walker. This is less expensive than driving to doggie daycare and way more convenient. Payment options are great and it’s incredibly flexible. My dog is happy and my guilt is eased. I enjoy coming home to the little report at the end of the day. They really understand my dog’s limits with the heat and a previous injury. I’m not sure I could manage without this service.

Our puppy Zane is very high energy and growing by the day so these mid-​day walks are a godsend. The owner, Ben, is very easy to work with and understanding of our flexible schedules. Makayla –our walker– is very diligent about securing our home when the walk is over and leaving progress reports daily as well as working with him on commands and loose leash walking just as we do when we walk him. Their prices are competitive and everything is very transparent. I would highly recommend them and look forward to utilizing their other services in the future.

I’ve used this company several times in the three years that I’ve had my dog. Ben and his team are excellent. My dog loves them and is completely exhausted after a session.
They’ve even been able to work us into their schedule when I’ve need someone at the last minute.
Completely trustworthy, reliable, and professional (the daily report cards are so helpful — and cute), I recommend them any time I have a friend who needs a dog walker.
I’ve just moved out of state and I hope that I can find a service that is as awesome as this one.

I can’t say enough great things about Ben! He loves our little dog as much as we do. We have a puppy that has some special needs, and I wasn’t sure if a dog walker would be able to help us out for mid day walks. As soon as Ben heard about the situation, he was understanding and willing to do whatever we needed. He leaves a little «progress report» every day to let us know how everything went. This is really nice, I love reading them every day when I get home from work.
I would highly recommend Ben and his team for anyone that needs help with their pups. Ben is reliable and trustworthy.

Since moving to Houston in June 2012, I’ve used The Dog Walker for mid-​day walks. I have been very satisfied with the service. Ben and his dog walkers are the best. I look forward to coming home to a happy pet and a nice note describing what my pet and the dog walker did on their 30 minute walk. Ben is also very flexible and can work easily with my schedule. I highly recommend!

Ben, Melissa and their hired walkers are awesome! We usually board our pets (Rover Oaks) when we go away for the weekend, but we had a last minute jaunt to Dallas and decided to employ a walker instead.
I was so happy to receive photo texts of my two dogs when Melissa came for the walks. I knew my dogs were happy and well taken care of. Upon my return, I found that Melissa had left little report cards for each dog that talked about what they did on their walks. So cute!
They’ll also take care of your trash, newspapers, plant watering, etc. so it appears that someone is home. They also do regular daily walks for those of you who can’t make it home to let the pets out every day.
