Rumor Has It Day Spa

After a year, I still love this place! I even pampered my family here the weekend of my wedding. The staff is wonderful and the seasonal pedicures are addicting. Try the pumpkin spice pedicure!

I love that after a long days work they offer a glass of wine or hot tea.
The service is great and I’m up on all the trends bc they girls share them with me.
It’s a small drive from downtown. I tell everyone I can about this place.

When I first walked in, I knew I found a right place for my mani and pedi. With hectic schedule, I was out the door with two technician doing my pedicure and manicure at the same time. Kate who did my pedicure was so nice and professional. She paid attention to details and my needs. I didnt feel like i was being rushed because she took her time to be precise and right which is very important to me because i want to get all the services for what i pay for. I would definately come back and make another appointment with kate!

I just walked in and I am glad that I did! My ‘rock star’ pedicure was done well. The polish application was done precisely and with care. I was given two bottles of water when they saw I finished my first. I didn’t feel like just another person in the chair. I get the feeling they are trying to grow their business. They have a Unilocal deal for a free mimosa with check in and a $ 10 gift card. I’m happy I ‘just walked in.’ I’ll be back.

When the nail technician was done. My nails were so thin, it was painful to put my hands in hot or even warm water. I had to ask her several times not to use the sanding saw to file my natural nails and not to use the sanding saw to remove the nail polish from my natural nails as well. To boot, the receptionist made it a point to announce if I wanted to leave a tip loud enough for the people in the parking lot outside could hear it. Three times. (of course I did but there was no need to try and shame me into leaving a tip and of what increment)

A great spa — I moved into this neighbourhood a month ago and have visited this spa twice. Their service is fantastic, the staff is great and the products they use are high quality. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for spa services. Bonus — they do threading as well which is not available at all spas.

I went to rumor has it Saturday and two days later my nails are chipped like crazy! I bought there most expensive manicure and pedicure «rumor has it» and it’s a total disappointment from the time I walked in to the time I left! The only nice thing I can say is they have nice products the staff is what makes it horrendous. They lack the skill or knowledge to provide decent service is annoying. The massage that comes with the service was very light even after I asked for them to apply more pressure and I was ignored! So rumor has it that the other reviews are legit too!

I came here for a shellac manicure and an eyebrow wax on a Saturday. They were able to get me in on short notice (which was great). I also loved the manicure, it didn’t chip at all for two weeks (but I finally had to take it off because my nails were starting to grow out).
However, I was not a fan of the eyebrow wax. The esthetician ranted and raved about how it was an «all natural, organic salon» so I shouldn’t have any negative reactions to anything, but the next morning I woke up with a red rash around my eyebrows. Which is especially strange because I don’t have sensitive skin, and have never had any sort of reaction to an eyebrow wax (and I’ve been getting them for years, at many different places)

Do not waste your time. I came here a few months ago because it’s right by my house and they were almost an hour late starting on my services. I thought I would try again to see if they got any better but they haven’t. They are adamant about making appointments but they are always late. After an hour of waiting I left today without even an apology from the manager — only excuses.

I have to say that this place did not do it for me
I came in during the week and walked in asking about pricing for facials. the esthetician was right near the front door helping another customer with products. I said ok that i would like a facial and filled out the paperwork. the lady that came out to greet me was the same one by the door (never got her name but there was only two girls here that do facials) She asked me some questions about my skin and my routine and what i wanted out of the facial that day. I explained all of the above and also stated that i had a cystic acne on my nose at the bridge that i wanted removed because it was painful as well as the pores on my face cleaned out. The lady basically said that in order to get good results that i would have to trash my current skin care products and buy their products (in not as many words). i understand that some products are not created equally, but i dont think that what i was using was bad.(but im not a ‘professional”). she got the room ready and took me back. had me change and lay down. i waited for a really long time until she came back in. when she did she brought someone new. Her name was emily. she said that her next cleint was early by 15minutes and emaily would be taking care of me (this is where the service started seeming fishy) why would she say that she was going to do my facial at the beginning if she knew her next cleint was coming in soon. i doubt that my facial would take 15 minutes putting her on schedule for the next client. I would assume that the estetician who is greeting me and asking me questions about my skin would be the one giving the facial.
Moving along and everything is going great the room is very relaxing and the girl is doing a good job so far. Than she moves on to the extractions and i hardly feel a thing. i think to myself ‘huh, this barely hurts she isnt pushing too hard i hope she is getting everything out’. so she continues and than starts with the next part of the facial… but she hasnt even touched my cystic acne that was on nose. i had to point it out to the lady that i had a huge pimple on my nose that i wanted removed. So she worked on it for a couple seconds and than said that it was ok that it would be a little swollen, but the acne is gone.
. the rest of the facial was great.
i got dressed left and was expecting great reslts with my cystic asne spot on my nose. i got home and looked in the mirror and thought that it looked like the acne was still there, but i let it be and figured it was just inflammed.
Next morning… nope still there and just as big.
during lunch i called and asked if i needed to come in to have her take a look because what she said was removed, was not. I was told i would get a call… no call…
i went to the store after work and said that i never received a call from emily and i wanted to show them that the cyst is still on my nose… and at the front counter was the girl that i originally worked with… The lady at the front desk was very nice and called emily (who didnt answer) and told her to calll me… we set up a date the next time to have the cyst removed.
next day i go in and ask emily how long it wiill take because i have another engament i have to go to. she said 15 minutes tops.
went in the room… waited for a long time again… emily finally came in and got to work on my pimple. This time it really felt like she was trying (unlike the first time). Time passes by and she is still working. she finally gets up and says that she is going to ask the other girl for help. i lay there and wait. emily pocked her head back in and says that the other girl is checking out her customer and will be with me soon…
soon didnt happen… i waited so long that i couldnt wait any more so i left the room. got up to the front and the other girl had just brought her customer to get checked out… so she was not in fact checking out her customer when emily said that she was. i told her i had to leave and what would be a good time to finish the session because i had to leave…
The lady said she would call me… no call…
went back in the next day after work and asked about setting up the follow up and the girl said that emily tried her hardest and with my condition it cant be removed. i explained to her that i have had cysts removed before with a little nick and than just pinching out. she said that there are certain things that they cant do at that office.
i would have not been upset with this issue, if it wasnt told to me that the acne was gone and it was just inflmation. if you are told this you expect the acne to be gone, not lied to.
anyone could see that the head was still in the skin after i left the first time.
not impressed with the lack of follow up calls that were supposed to have been made, as well as the lack of honesty. if you cant get it out, let me know the first time so i dont waste my time and expect something when i get home that is not delivered.

I went back for a vinyl manicure to give them a second chance. I had a good experience but just gotta realize that my hands really sensitive for at least 1 or 2 hours after getting vinyl. Managed to ruin my own manicure but it was good service and Havan was talkative and fun.

This is my go to place for skin care and mani/​pedi needs. I love the relaxing environment and friendly service. Especially when I can kick back and sip on a glass of wine or mimosa.
Can’t wait to have my friend’s up coming bachelorette party here. The manager has been very helpful in providing information and working with me as I hammer out the details.
Definitely would recommend this place to anyone!

I came here after reading all the great reviews and because I can walk to it. I stopped in Tuesday after work for acrylic nails. The receptionist asked if I had an appointment, I said no. Then she went and asked a lady something and then came back and said they «don’t have the staff on hand to do acrylic nails.» I’m sorry, what? I thought I walked into a nail salon! What does your staff do then??? She said I could come back tomorrow. And she had lipstick all over her teeth. Not a way to make a first impression.

Had a Spa Day today. …F A B U L O U S !!! I can recommend all services… mani…pedi…massage…facial… Everyone is so nice and knowledgeable…

The staff is awesome… but got shellac nails on Saturday by Wednesday they started to chip. Even my toe nail polish chipped. Which that rarely ever happens.

Went here with my friends today, one of which recommended it. Great service, great staff, great atmosphere. They offered us mimosas that were refilled throughout our appointment. We weren’t rushed and they were meticulous in making sure we were comfortable. Highly recommend it!

Got my nails done again here and they are absolutely perfect! Sarah moves so quickly and does a flawless job! And she’s so sweet too! She listened to what I was looking for then picked a color that I absolutely love!

I chose this place because it was the only nail salon I could find in Houston that touted itself as green. Being eight months pregnant (and even if I wasn’t), I didn’t want to sit for an hour and smell harsh chemical fumes like you do in most nail places. This totally lived up to my expectations. The environment was clean, quiet, and relaxing. They also had non-​toxic nail polish brands, which made me happy. Plus, the staff was very professional and super nice. Michelle did a great job on my pedicure. I left with a bunch of coupons for different services and definitely plan on returning.

I’m most impressed by the service at Rumor Has It. The staff are very friendly, welcome you upon arrival, and offer you tea, water, and wine. Their magazine selection is also current — not sure why this matters, but I guess it’s just the little things.
The salon itself is very clean and I like the circular nail station-​It gives the place an upscale vibe. Additionally, they have figured out a way finally to make it easier for you to choose your color — I don’t know what it is, but it is organized and easier to move through.
So all in all, I am definitely a fan, but what I’m not a fan of is the cost. I got a gel mani and the refresh pedicure. My bill was $ 81.00. Part of the increased cost was the polish I chose which had an $ 8.00 upcharge — holy smokes, what’s in that polish… gold, diamonds, Brad Pitt’s sweat!
But price be damned, I guess you get what you pay for. I had a great experience and will probably go back, but will make sure that I’ve budgeted for the trip before I go :)

It didn’t blow my socks off, and there are less expensive places in town, so for that you get three stars!
I needed a pedi something fierce after being on the beach for a week, and I needed one on Sunday afternoon. I wanted to try a new place, so gave Rumor a call, and they were able to fit me in right away.
The place is VERY clean, I will give it that, but its SUPER annoying that they only use Zoya polish. I’m a loyal OPI girl, or Essie, so this was an issue. Also, Zoya didn’t have a ton of new cool hues, so I settled for a light Easter Egg purple and off we went. I went in and made the appointment specifically for a MANI PEDI – and only got a pedicure. The tech that did my nails realized this after the pedicure was over, (30 minutes later) but by then I was a bit annoyed and wanted to leave.
The pedicure itself was a okay, there was no scrub involved, and minimal exfoliation on the bottom of the foot done. (I’m still a fan of the potato peeler method) After going to Q Designer, Montrose Nails, and my other normal places, this seemed a bit high $ 30 for not that much time given to my feet. There was however a big screen tv I watched the basketball game on, which was a plus. They offer a variety of things like massage and facials, but all in all I just wasn’t impressed.
