Metropole

My boyfriend & I have lived at the Metropole for over a year now. When we moved to Houston I begged my boyfriend to move here. I mean begged! I fell in love with the place. It was beautiful, quiet, & full of young professionals. Seriously, I LOVED this place!
It’s changed. A lot. My love turned to like then to hate & it’s truly a love/​hate right now. It went from a quiet complex to well… party central. It feels like I traveled back in time to college but with a bad bonus of loud little kids.
Our neighbors used to be so nice & respectful but we have new neighbors. Neighbors who like to blast their awful music for hours in conjunction with parties. It’s been a nightmare for months. Months. Management has been really great in addressing them but it sure hasn’t stopped them. We have new neighbors upstairs too. We were warned that it would be loud when they were moving in which is completely understandable BUT that was a bit back & as I’m typing this, at close to 10pm, they are hammering their walls. Tuesday at 10pm. On top of that I’m stumped as to knowing if they are elephants or they just really like stomping around. It’s awful! I miss our old neighbors.
In the last few months there’s been a HUGE influx of children & parties at the pool. A few weekends back there was close to 13 kids at the pool for a child’s birthday party along with loud drunk people screaming. I get that it’s summer but it feels like anyone can get in the complex. It definitely doesn’t feel secure like it used to. Last summer there were parties but the people were pretty respectful. We would actually open our window to listen to the music. Everyone was hanging out & chill. You’d actually see the people that LIVE in the complex not random people.
I get that they are desperate to fill apartments but when they started letting anyone in well… I don’t know. It’s been really difficult to enjoy this place lately. It truly has so many amazing amenities & our apartment is GORGEOUS but it’s losing the exclusive feel it had. If you’re a young professional that works long hours & is looking for a quiet haven to relax at, especially on the weekends I might recommend looking elsewhere until things get back to how they were & they start monitoring the grounds. It was a wonderful to be surrounded by professional, kind, & respectful neighbors. I truly miss that.
I want to love this place again! I wrote a WONDERFUL review on
a few months back & it’s just sad how things have changed. I still like the Metropole a lot & I’m really & truly hoping things start going better. I hope that I can update this review with more stars at some point in the future. I don’t want to move. I have faith it’ll get better. It’s a beautiful complex but there are definitely some things that really need to be addressed. I’m confident in the Metropole team.

Metropole definitely looks nice. It has amenities that will likely impres you. The downside is the noise and tenants here.
If you’re looking for a 20 something party environment then you’ve found the right place. Tenants here love to cause a ruckus during the week late at night. Either in the pool or on their patios for the paper thin walls and single pane windows to easily transfer their obnoxiousness.
Tenants seem to have opted into a group buy of sound systems as many of them love to turn their bass up and disturb your peaceful abode. It does not matter if they’re next to you, above you, or under you, you will hear their impeccable taste in music.
Complaints to the management only do so much. No one is held accountable for disturbing your right to peace.
Oh and the garage is such a joy. Tenants love to speed around corners that they cannot see. It’s always a pleasure to brake for your life everyday.
If you are a business professional looking for a quiet environment, do yourself a favor, look elsewhere.
As I am writing this there is a group of young ladies blasting their music, singing along. At midnight. On a Tuesday. On their patio.

Great place to live! Quiet neighbors, attentive staff, a really nice pool area and spacious apartments with great amenities. I’ve been here almost 2 years and I’m really glad I chose this place. I ordered a really nice ceiling fan when I first moved in which I planned on installing myself. When I told the leasing agent about my plans, he called maintenance and they had it up the same day. Every issue I’ve had has been taken care of quickly, the grounds are always in immaculate condition and the place is pet friendly. I highly recommend leasing here!!!

I love the metropole. Excellent location, very friendly and conscientious staff, high ceilings, quality countertops and cabinets… Everything is so clean and nice. Best apartment I’ve ever lived at. Repairs are made quickly, neighbors and friendly. It feels safe here. Good parking and security situation. Just a beautiful, clean apartment in a great location that is cheaper than many comparable properties. The only negative comments I have are that I wish the gym was bigger (although they recently added heavier weights and some new cardio equipment so that is an improvement), and I would like some higher water pressure on the shower and sinks, but it’s not a deal breaker. They also have a great concierge, driver service, and coffee bar! It has surpassed all of my expectations! I love the metropole and highly recommend it to anyone interested in a beautiful, clean, safe apartment in a great location.

We have now been living at Metropole for 1 month now and so far it has been fantastic!
The apt was in good condition when we moved in. We have had to put in a few maintenance requests, but the turn around is extremely quick!!! No matter the size, I can tell they really care about fixing your home for you.
The floor plan we chose is such a great size for a one bedroom. We’re in the mid-​rise and have a pool view. So far all the residents are very respectful of the pool rules and are mindful about noise in the hallway.
I would say the only downside is our parking garage. After 5pm it gets entirely full but the spaces are so close together that not every vehicle can park or even fit correctly, leaving lots of spaces «unparkable.»
It goes without saying that the location is absolutely amazing. Kroger, HEB, and central market: all 3 min away. Great bars are less than 10 min. Every foodie’s dream too!

I’ve been a residence for four years
With very little complaints.
I enjoy the amenities.
Driver for the building.
Cabanas with outdoor kitchen by the pool.
Location and my view of downtown/​med center.
Staff has always been very cordial and accommodating.
Pros:
Great location!
Large balcony
Scenic views of the city!
Reasonable priced for greenway compared to other local properties.
Cons:
Parking is not easily assessable.
Neighbor not following valet trash rules.

Lived here for four years and wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. Have a great view and love all the amenities and looks from inside and outside my apartment. We are about to renew and really plan to stay here for the convenience of location and pricing. If you are looking to rent, talk to Terry or Shawn they are so helpful! Also maintenance is very responsive and management always willing to work with your options and help you find your right home. The amenities are great, the pool is beautiful and always clean, the gym is small but has complete equipment for cardio and weights, it only needs to have faster wi-​fi connection!

I’m so glad I made the decision to live at metropole. The office staff is, hands down, the most friendly and helpful staff I have ever seen.

There is a problem with the ethics, or lack of ethics, with the manager and for that reason I cannot recommend living at the Metropole.

The Metropole is a nice place. However, there are items to note. Parking is crazy. if you live in the tower — be prepared to walk — a long way. If you are disabled, keep looking. This complex is not for anyone with disabilities. Handicap parking is sparse. And due to the parking, it wouldn’t matter. The parking in the front is supposed to be for future residents. Good luck to them. Residents take those spots with impunity. Unless you park in the HC space, towing is not done.
The tower is a converted office building. It is nicely done. However, no windows open — at all. Only the sliding door opens to the balcony. The balconies are nice but not secure. It is easy to hop from one balcony to another.
There is a concierge from 5pm to 10pm each night. That is nice. And from Friday 3pm, there is a chauffeur with SUV available free of charge. You need to arrange for its use. There is a 24-​hr coffee bar… when the machine is working or cups are available. Nice when it works. The fitness room is nice too.
All of this comes with a high price tag. So be prepared to pay for rent, storage unit, and reserved parking. But management is very responsive. The team works hard to plan events for the residents.
So, with these items in mind, you can decide if Metropole is a good fit. I have enjoyed my time here.

Great location, but really expensive for what you get…

I have experienced better… but things are looking up. Greystar is back at the reigns and I hope that means were going to see more and more improvement.
They have been working on actually maintaining the pool, which is nice.
The carpet in the hallway is being cleaned again. Sweet.
Problems with the doors not being locked are still there. But what really is keeping this from being a 4 star review is the complete lack of security. THAT’S RIGHT WOULD BE ROBBERS! We have NOBODY on property from about 7 in the evening until about 7 in the morning. Except for a cop that lives here… upstairs somewhere… Come join the party.
Why not have a security guard? Why is that so hard?
Are there still some concerns… absolutely.
Lets keep the upward trend going Greystar. There is no reason this property cant recover from the Lynd Companies terrible management. We appreciate the smiling faces in the office, you just need to deliver some substance on this security issue.
