Great service! They gave us a nice assortment of wines to taste before we decided on what to drink, it was really refreshing to be treated so kindly. The wine selection was amazing and the prices were good. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday night.

What a comfortable, warm and inviting place to have a glass of wine. On the south side of I-​10 between Wirt and Antoine, it’s easily accessible with lots of free parking. Wine is available by the glass or bottle. There are a sufficient number of choices in each category. Ask the server about specials, what they’re featuring, suggestions, or what bottles they have open. Meeting up with a long-​lost friend, we opted to sit in the back where we could have uninterrupted, quiet conversation, but the place as a whole is quiet. Our server was great, checked on us at appropriate intervals, refilled out water glasses without being asked. We did order light bites, and frankly, yes, they were quite light. All in all, a wonderful place for a meet-​up, glass of wine. Will definitely go back.

We love this place! It’s near our house and they have great wine & service! They have a limited food menu but we still enjoy the meat & cheese options they do offer. They do have a menu now that lists prices for various wines in addition to other options on their shelves or based on their recommendations. Also recommend the various classes they have in the private room. Always a good time!

As a frequent patron and wine lover, Memorial Wine is a terrific gem of a place along the Katy Freeway. Dwayne and Mary, the owners, have created a real wine bar with a great selection, a wide variety of price points, superior stemware and light food options to complement your wine.
The cost for on-​premise consumption might be seen as expensive but covers the extensive inventory, use of Riedel stems and the convenient location. Retail wines are competitively priced. Join the wine club and receive an additional 10% discount.
All in all, this is a great place to meet up with wine loving friends to enjoy a glass. If you like neighborhood places, give MWC a shot and support the effort. You won’t be disappointed.

The only reason they have one stars is I can’t give them none. We have tried the place three times, each more disappointing than the last. We want the place to be great but it just isn’t. This last visit, we popped in for a quick glass. After 5 minutes, we had no service. My wife was at the table, I was at the bar. A server even picked up a glass on the table but was «too busy» to take her order. We left and went elsewhere, not to be back.

I attended a wine tasting class at this location recently and although I had attended wine tastings in the past, this class was much more educational while still being fun. Great selection of samples and this location provides the perfect place for a tipsy Saturday afternoon. Would definitely return and recommend.

Went to this local establishment with a couple of girlfriends. Happy to say that we had lovely time trying a few new wines, then settling in for a glass and some nosh, (some smoked salmon with capers, must recommend! A couple of cheeses I would have again) all of which was fantastic. Seth, our wine expert, was the exact opposite of the classic «wine snob»; he made good wine «tasting» choices for our small group based on some easy questions, had us try some interesting wines, and then let us all settle on our favorites. Really nice wines, relaxing evening. Thank you, Seth!

Very nice ambience and the wine selections are organized so well! Out bartender (and I believe also the owner?) was also super knowledgable. Their daily specials are awesome too, on Thursdays you can go in and try really nice wines that aren’t typically sold by the glass. Also a retail wine seller spot that you can pick up a bottle from on the way home.

Stumbled on this place while trying to kill time on a Friday night and loved it!!! They gave a good recommendation for red and have a beer selection for those who don’t enjoy wine. They also give complimentary popcorn with truffle oil to snack on while enjoying your wine!

I actually love this little-​known gem just north and east of Memorial Villages… it is one of our go-​to wine bars when we just want a nice glass of wine without a lot of scene or difficulty parking.
They have a great number of wines by the glass to choose from and often have a special bottle that they are offering glasses of for a bit more money (generally around $ 20 – 25 a glass. We had that special glass last night which was a wonderful Zinfandel from California at $ 22 a glass. They let you take half glasses as well, so my fiancé and I each did a half glass of that wine and then a half glass of a Cabernet Sauvignon.
They serve all wines in varietal-​specific Riedel glasses which a huge plus in my book. It is fairly uncommon for a wine bar to go to this length to show the wines in their best light.
We usually get a pâté plate here, as they do a really fine pâté plate. We have also done cheese plates here before and that was also very good.
This place hosts frequent wine tastings on Saturday, and you usually are offered 10% off on the featured wines, which is nice. The tastings are generally free and open to the public. They also often host chef-​prepared prix fix dinners here pared to wines, though we haven’t made it to one of those yet. It is very cool that they host them though.
They have a very wide selection of bottles to purchase and enjoy, and all of them are priced to consume on premises… if you are interested in buying a bottle to take home ask them for the retail price and you will be pleased that it is usually deeply discounted. They have a wall of ultra-​premium wines up near the bar, and I am often surprised at the types of wine that they have available for sale… sometimes things that can only be purchased on allocation… for instance last night they had a bottle of Seven Stones Cab for sale… that is tough to get and about $ 200 from the winery, so kudos to them for having a bottle for sale. If you are ever looking for a special bottle and just aren’t feeling what Spec’s (and I like Spec’s, so don’t get me wrong) has for sale, swing by this little joint and see what they have on offer.
In short, I very highly recommend Memorial Wine Cellars… it is a great place to go for a glass or bottle of wine. I am sure that you won’t be disappointed.

I like this place, it has a nice atmosphere and a good wine selection though a little pricey. We didn’t have any food so I can’t comment on that. I recommend this spot for a relaxing evening!

What a wonderful neighborhood hangout. A real wine bar with knowledgeable and friendly staff. The music is good (live and piped). The wine selections are diverse and solid. We choose by the glass or by the bottle from a nice selection.

Great wine bar for people looking for a place to have a good glass of wine and relax after a long day.
I’m giving it 4 stars because the wine is over priced. And the waitstaff always try to serve you the most expensive wine they have. Seriously, if I’m going to have 2 glasses I really don’t need to spend $ 45. If I was at a nice steak out then sure, but not on a random weeknight when I’m meeting up with a friend.
Their food menu is pretty lackluster, but thankfully they have food trucks that come each night and I believe they will go pick up food for you at the Italian restaurant in the shopping center.

Wanted to give the place another try. Had a horrible first experience. Got there at 8:15 on a Monday. Spent $ 80 between 3 people. They closed at 9 and were immediately rude and gave us 5 minutes to leave. This out of the apparent owners mouth, I’ve been in the industry 15 years and I understand but geez give me a few minutes to Finish my wine. I’ll spend my money elsewhere.

This wine bar has an excellent selection of small vineyard wines with a knowledgable wait staff. My gripe is with the price and service.
First of all, we found a bottle of wine that we have in our own cellar marked up at THREE and a HALF times the cost. That should have been our first red flag. The second came with the cheese plate. We ordered the mixed plate and were taken aback when it arrived at the table. While I appreciated the thinly sliced meats and cheeses, the portions were extremely skimpy The plate included two cheeses and four meats. I expect a $ 25 item to include more than three tiny (literally Listerine breath strip sized) slivers of each item. We were very grateful that there was a food truck outside so that we could enjoy more sustenance with our wine.
For a place that charges a premium for their offerings, I would expect more out of the wait staff. Although they were well versed in wines, they always seemed too busy to stop by the table for refills. I just wish the effort was there. Overpriced and under serviced.

I was very surprised when walking into the Memorial Wine Cellar! An amazing variety of wines. Tell Peter what you like and he’ll show you the perfect wine for you! The salmon to die for! I have found my new happy place!

Met a friend here and wow! The selection, fantastic. Staff attentive. Comfortable, cozy, laid back. Met the owner or he was at least the manager I can’t remember, Dwayne– wow– knowledgeable and personable. My new favorite wine bar!

Staff was not dressed as nicely as one might expect for a wine bar. The wine selection was good but the cheese plate was better than average.

It’s just a bummer that this place doesn’t have better reviews. We need a wine place in the area and I really want to support the place because I like locally owned shops. But they really need to step up the customer service. We went there in the early afternoon on a Friday and the first thing we are told is no food service. First and foremost, we weren’t there to eat — we were there for a glass of wine. How about a hello or how are yall doing? How can I help you? Pretty simple stuff.
Then we order our glass of wine and water — we were the only customers in the joint and we had to get up for a refill on both wine and water. The prices are not unreasonable and the wine was good.
But the most important thing is lacking. It is amazing to me that customer service is not the focus when it really is the most basic way to ensure a guest returns especially in a city that has so many restaurant/​bar choices.
