Great people (Charlie and Martha) in taking quality time in getting my suit custom altered in time for a wedding with a few short days turnaround.

Did a great job at alterations. The turnaround time was exceptional and worth it to pay a little extra for the timely manner. The length ended up perfect on my bridesmaid dress. Thank you!

I would give 2.5 stars if I could.
Used them for my wedding dress, it took multiple attempts at getting the dress to fit right, going back and forth from it being too tight to too big. Overall, the service and quality of work is just average and very pricey. My dress ultimately was stepped on and torn beyond repair due to their bustle work. A basic hem, bustle and taking the sides in was $ 442 so next time I would look elsewhere for a more reasonable price since the work was on par with other tailors.

Awesome experience! I emailed for a quote on a fast project I needed done on a dress. Not only was the final price lower than the initial quote, but they were able to make the repair while I waited! Absolutely amazing and I will totally be returning to have more work done here!

I’ve never had a suit tailored beyond having the length of the pants and sleeves hemmed and after my experience with Memorial Tailors I realize I have been such a fool. My suit now looks like a million bucks! Best fitting pieces of clothing I’ve ever put on my body. I went in and they knew exactly what I wanted when I spoke to them and I told them I didn’t need the suit for a few weeks so they can take their time. 30 minutes after getting home I got a call that my grandfather passed away. So I called them back and said I needed it in probably the next two days and they made it happen with no charge. My grandfather was always a snappy dresser since he worked in NYC advertising in the mad men era and I know he would have been proud at how well I wore that suit and how well it fit. I’ll never go to another place so long as I’m in Houston.

I’ve taken dresses here a few times now and I’m always happy with the results. The staff is very nice and gets the job done quick, and my dresses are always ready when I come to get them. My husband brings his suits here a lot as well.

I had a great experience with Charlie at Memorial Tailors and highly recommend this business if you’re looking for a top-​notch professional tailor in the Houston area. Charlie is clearly an expert at what he does and is super detail-​oriented to make sure your alterations are done perfectly. Fantastic customer service and they do an amazing job!

No other tailor could have my suit back to me before Wednesday of next week (6 days!) so I tried a friend’s recommendation. I’ve never been to a better tailor — EVER. Prices are phenomenal, service is outstanding, and the wait was 10 minutes for fixing a seam and ironing a suit. I’ll never go anywhere else again!

I live out of state and only had time for 1 real fitting for my wedding and they did a phenomenal job! They stored my dress right until the wedding and steamed it and had it ready to go the day before (they even had the option to pick it up the day of!). Very nice and reasonable pricing. Thanks to Unilocal,I found this place. They were friendly, efficient, and reasonably priced. Had a pair of pants that needed the waist lengthened and it was ready the next day. They are located across from Academy, in the same strip as great clips.

Do not use Memorial Tailors for bridal alterations. I literally watched the tailor STEP ON MY MIKADO SATIN GOWN. He left footprints on the train. What a waste of time and money!
After giving Memorial Tailors THREE chances to get my alterations right, they still couldn’t/wouldn’t correctly alter the strapless cups. They also failed to deliver my altered gown on schedule for my bridal portraits.
Unless your alterations are super simple, stay away from here. I ended up getting my gown repaired at Beautiful U on Mercer. They completely disassembled the gown and reassembled it to correct Memorial Tailors’ bad job. Beautiful U returned my gown on time and got it right the first time.

A huge thank you to the guys at Memorial Tailors for altering my very fitted wedding dress at a great price! I went to 2 other places for quotes before here and they beat all other prices by about 40% less! I got 1.5 to 2 inches taken in on each side, built in bra added & bottom length shortened, and it came out perfect! The seaming with the boning and structure was still perfect after, I don’t know how they did it! I took a long bridesmaids dress here recently as well, and again they beat the price of what I know my friends paid to get their waiste and length taken in. Very happy with this spot!

Stumbled upon this tailor and was very pleased with their work! I took in curtain panels which needed lenght added onto them. They had them back to me at the perfect length in just a few days for a very competitive price. I will go back for sure!

Charlie does a fantastic job. I have had several pieces tailored and all of them were perfect. Most recently he tailored my wedding dress and it turned out beautifully. I am also getting a second wedding dress and formal gown tailored for a second formal reception and so far I am extremely satisfied. Highly recommend Charlie. His partner also does alterations and came recommended from a friend of mine. I bought one of the wedding dresses used and there was some stains on the bottom of the dress– after it had been cleaned previously. I took it to the shop and they cleaned it perfectly! saved me about $ 1000 in buying a new dress.
my formal gown — I bought a Marc Jacobs sequined floor length gown at a huge discount because it had been hanging for god only knows how long so the seams had begun to rip and was a bit ill fitting at first. Charlie fixed it up perfectly and it fits like a glove.
Similarly I found a clearanced dress with illusion cutouts which kind of bunched up– again they fixed the dress to fit perfectly and the illusion cutouts look fantastic– added cups, I was worried about the padding in the cups but they clearly know what they are doing because it looked great on.
Lastly I wanted a specific look for a party I went to and found a skirt that was perfect except for the fact it wasn’t high waisted. fixed, and when I went to pick it up the pockets had been removed, when I requested they put them back they did immediately within 20 minutes.
fantastic customer service, great turn around. Keep in mind alterations for formal wear is not cheap, at first I had a hard time but it is so worth it when a dress fits you so well. I also plan on getting both wedding dresses cleaned and preserved there. Highly recommend.

Read Corey M’s previous review. First and last time customer here. Either Corey M is right about how this business is run or they just have too many customers and can’t keep up or don’t care about new customers. Go someplace else. I brought my $ 1000 suit here for alterations in a time crunch or I’d have taken the suit to Norton DItto to alter. Big mistake. My biggest pet peeve is being told that my item will be ready at such and such time and then I go in A DAY LATER to give them extra time and the item is still not ready. They claim to do «alterations while you wait» and they apparently seriously enforce that policy. I was told when I went to pick up my suit first that the pants were wrinkled and needed pressing. What?! Why wasn’t that done the day before? Then, I was told there was a «touch-​up» needed on one of my suit sleeves and it would take ten minutes. I waited 20. Forget it. I’ll never go back to this shop. I buy my suits at Norton Ditto and next time, I will just wait for the alterations there and make sure they are done right. BTW apparently some of those child pageant moms and cheerleader types frequent this business… nuff said.

They are quick, professional, and do a fantastic job. Worth every penny.
I went in with a poorly made, oversized, chiffon bridesmaid dress. This dress was «my size» according to the manufacturer but if it falls off you it isn’t the correct size. This tailor did much better than I expected in fixing the disaster of a dress. It was quite impressive.
They took it in, shortened the hem, and used a bra to help hold up the dress (with snaps). When I went in the first time it was ready it was too tight in the bust. Why? It’s the darn material! Chiffon is difficult to work with. They let it out at the bust and it fit so much better the second time. Yet it still wasn’t quite right. They did a couple more tweaks to it (snaps for the bra and dress were making the bust area fit not as well as it could) and it finally fit nicely. Took them 20 minutes tops to fix the snaps (they were very busy). In addition they added a rhinestone to my bra. It was the nicest addition.
With all the grief this dress brought me going to this tailor and that one surprise rhinestone meant everything to me. I honestly think they added that rhinestone to brighten my day. I had expressed my distress and frustration over the dress. I’m sure they were frustrated with it too it was such an awful dress to begin with.
I got compliments on how I looked and the dress at the wedding. Needless to say they transformed the dress into something nice.

Ok. I’m going to be honest! The reviews are totally all over the place. I needed somewhere to get my wedding dress altered from a size 10 to a size 2! Memorial Tailors came recommended from Misora, where I bought my dress. Anyways. I was nervous. It was either going to be perfect or a nightmare.
I tried on my dress, Charlie pinned me up all over the place, told me it would be ready in two weeks, and I left. Two weeks?! For a wedding dress? I was skeptical. I prayed and prayed and showed up for my first fitting. When I arrived, they weren’t quite done, which irritated me and I had to come back an hour later. I came back, tried it on, and it was absolutely PERFECT! They couldn’t have done a better job! It was a completely different dress! You couldn’t even tell that it was eating me for lunch just two weeks ago.
We decided to add cups and a bustle and he said it was no problem. I came back in another 2 weeks, they were on time and it was yet again, perfect! Charlie was so amazing, knowledgable, and confident in his work!
They molded and pressed my dress for me to take home and I finally have my dream dress! Thank you, Memorial Tailors!

I brought in a bridesmaid dress that was too small in the waist. I had taken it to another tailor who said there was nothing she could do. But when I brought it in to Memorial Tailors he said he could have it done in a week. Not only did the dress fit after but he gave me an extra inch or two of breathing room. You couldn’t even tell it had been altered, even when compared to the other girls’ dresses. I was highly impressed by the speed and quality of the alteration.

I brought a dress in with a broken zipper that I though I was going to have to be completely replaced. The gentleman told me to wait there, took my dress in the back and came out five minutes later with my zipper back on it’s track. Such a nice and honest businessman. He’s a fashion emergency hero and officially now my Houston tailor

After being unsatisfied with alterations at the salon where I bought my wedding dress, I searched for the tailor that seemed by all accounts to be the best in town, so Memorial it was. I brought my dress in two days before the wedding in a total panic (I live out of town, so the whole process had been a little stressful) and they agreed to do a round of alterations in just 2 hours and have it ready by 6 pm on a Friday evening.
When I returned, Charlie (about whom everyone is right– he’s super awesome, and um, pretty cute too) pointed out what things had been changed when I put it on but I still wasn’t happy. There were some major issues and I was super freaked out. They told me that was all they could do– so I had pretty much brought my dress in and spent another few hundred for no reason.
They took the dress back and forth several times but there was still a problem with the dress liner bunching at my hips… so as I sat there teary-​eyed in the tiny lobby I came up with a brilliant idea to take appliques off my train and sew them on to provide extra coverage over the lining where it bunched. They did that and I picked it up the next day… 24 hours before my wedding. It wasn’t perfect still but at least they did what I asked.
I have to give them 3 stars for the quick turn around, but it was really frustrating that they didn’t suggest the appliqué idea, that I had to come up with it. The place is also super tiny and super busy so it made navigating the space in my dress with a huge train really hard.
