Macaron by Patisse

This place has presentation down but sadly, the macarons itself is a failure. I’ve traveled the world seeking out macarons from Paris, to London, to new York etc… I was hoping for a great place in houston and thought based on reviews that it would be the one. Sadly, it was far from it.
For those unfamiliar with macarons, there are a few things you need to look out for when eating one for the first time… before you bite into it you need to see if the appearance is up to par. There is a reason you do not call macarons a cookie. It’s more than that, it’s an artistry. So embrace the beauty of one. Is the shell even and we’ll preserved, does the ganache go to the very edge? Is the proportion of shell to filling correct? These macarons already fail here. The ganache does not reach the edge. As you bite into it, it continues to fail. Right away you see the air pocket. That is a huge indicator that the chef does not know what they are doing. The cakey center needs to rise completely to the top of the shell but does not lose the texture. This is the magic and difficulty of making macarons. This separates the pros from the amateurs. This place still has a lot to learn.
And lastly, the taste itself is overwhelmingly sweet that the flavors are lost. There is a finesse to balancing delicate flavors to match the delicate dessert and sadly this place fails at everything. I give this place 2 stars and it’s only deserved for how the place is designed out. I hope they do make the changes necessary to continue to improve because I really want a great macaron place in houston.

It’s hard for me to find a good macaron place where the flavors are really delicate, have a smooth note of flavor and scent to their name but also not overpowering. I’m a big foodie but even someone like me can’t take a big bite of sweet sugar. That being said the macarons here aren’t super sweet to where I can’t take more than one bite. It’s amazing and it’s not as pricey as I thought it’d be. Next time I’ll come back to try their macaron pops! Hopefully they change their flavors up when I do!

I really enjoy the texture and certain flavors of the macarons. The cashier didn’t handle my macarons too well when she placed them in the box, once I opened it back up, everything was flattened and shatter. My favorite flavors are lavender, rose, and vanilla.

Skip this place, they don’t know how to make a good macaron. It’s filled with tons of sugar!!!

Best Macarons In the world! Speaking from someone who has tried macarons around the world. Each Macaron literately has great flavor and eating a version of what the flavor represents. If your not a macaron person or don’t think you like them — this place will change your mind. Also the shop is lovely — great service and a gorgeous setting. Love this place.

Simply amazing! The décor is great. Customer service awesome. Never overly busy. Huge variety of macaron flavors. I actually think Common Bond has better macarons, but it can be packed at Common Bond and they don’t have nearly as many flavors. I got a variety dozen and my favorite so far is the cappuccino!

Really disappointed by this place. My Neigbor got me this sweet box as a gift and was excited to try it right away.
They were hard like a rock break into pieces, the filling was very small and when I still wanted to try them I felt all I’m having is dried sugar. I cannot even comment on the flavor as if I didn’t enjoy anything from my first bite.
I will have to say they look good that is all.
My mom just came from Paris and got me a box from Fauchon macaron and they were fresh and amazing for at least 48hours. I have been to Paris and tried several different places including the famous Laduree, Fauchon, Pierre Herme for their patisserie and Macaroon and I expect way more from a place here in Houston that claims to make everything fresh.

I’ve heard so much about these tasty treats, but have never tried it before… Until now. Macaron by Patisse was the carefully selected place for me to pop my Macaron cherry and it was good. Score!
From the modern chic ambiance to the friendly face behind the counter, to that first bite, I had a truly memorable experience.
The best part? So many flavors! I’m coming back for more. Stylish!

Ever since I saw an episode of chopped that had macarons as the secret ingredient, I needed to try them because I was convinced they had to be delicious. I went to Petite Sweets a few weeks ago and was utterly disappointed. The cookies tasted old, they were cold and way too sweet. However, I saw this place and wanted to give it another try. I tasted the raspberry mascarpone, pistachio, lavender, rose, and ferraro. The pistachio was so delicious! The rose was amazing! They all had such delicious delicate flavors and the the light airy crispness of the almond cookies were so good!
They are kind of expensive but worth it for a delightful treat. I’m def coming back soon!

The store is small and dainty with a very minimalistic kind of feel. The white floors and walls makes it seem a lot bigger though and so although it’s tiny, it’s still very comfortable.
They serve Kusmi tea which makes me very, very happy. And also sell the flavors I want, which makes me even happier!
The downside, however, is the macarons. I personally prefer less sweet and more subtle tastes on florals but the Lavander and Rose ones were so strong they tasted like perfume. This is a personal opinion though, many people do love the perfume-​y taste of floral flavors. I’d just say that the flavors are very pronounced and not at all the subtle tastes I would expect from a macaron.
The texture is my main concern. Macarons are known to have that crunchy eggshell outside with the chewy inside with a light and airy taste. These macarons were a bit more on the cakey side. The texture is a very big part of the whole macaron experience so I was a bit disappointed.
The macaron gelato push pops are a great idea! But again once I got down to the macaron it was literally cake. It’s probably because the gelato would be too heavy or something but it was too cakey for a macaron. The flavor was awesome though! I got strawberry basil. Each one with tax is $ 6.50 I think.
While the prices of the macarons are slightly less than many places ($ 2.25), I can’t say that I’d return to buy anything but my teas and an occasional macaron when I really, desperately want one. On the other hand, the person with me, who balanced this whole ordeal out, says she loves the place because she loves the deep flavors. We both agreed the texture was disappointing though. All in all, it’s a pretty nice place but definitely not the best.

Cute little boutique located in the River Oaks shopping center with really good macarons. They’re made fresh daily. They also sell tea here! Probably the only bad thing is that it’s a little pricy but I’ve never seen a cheap macaron, so compared to what I’ve seen it’s about average price.

Hands down the best In Houston no one can touch them by far! Favorites Salted Caramel, Almond and Red Velvet. Be warned these macarons are very addictive lol. They are to die for and they have a location at the Galleria.

The macarons are amazing here. They also have tea. This is not really a place you want to hang out at, but it’s a grab-​and-​go sort of deal.

Out of the 3 other macaron places I’ve tried, I decided this is my favorite thus far. I’ve been to Pâtisserie Paris Je T’aime, Sweet, and Dolce Delights. (Ordered from next best to least in my opinion).
Parking is very easy. You can park in front of the establishment but keep in mind about the 30 minute parking. Another choice is the garage located across the street, connected to America’s.
Each macaron is $ 2.25, but you can save if you buy a certain amount. A dozen costs $ 25.
My first experience here was phenomenal. Mohammed helped me pick out 2 dozen for a business meeting last year with his personal recommendations as well as popular ones. They have about 20 different flavors of macarons. Some with unique designs and colors such as the Rose, Lavender, Almond, Cinnamon Swirl, Birthday Cake, etc. In addition, macaron flavors change seasonally so watch out for that.
My recent trip here, I came with a few friends. We purchased a dozen with macaron gelato pops. The pops are unique — macaron + ice cream sandwich kind of deal. I tried the Raspberry Rose due to my love for berries. I believe there were Blueberry, Cookies & Cream, Fig & Goat Cheese, Pistachio Orange Blossom, Salted Caramel, and Tiramisu. Again, flavors change seasonally. On the other hand, we split 12 macarons by 3 people. Each flavor is personal preference, but I would recommend the Pistachio, Fleur de Sel, Earl Gray, Rose, and Fig & Goat Cheese. My friends were raving about Cookies & Cream and Cinnamon Swirl. I was slightly disappointed with Raspberry Mascarpone, Red Velvet, and Ferrero. I will admit a few of the macarons lacked consistency in the past.
If you have not tried a macaron ever, I recommend you come try it from here! And a FYI — Macaron by Patisse has a small location within the Galleria. It is located right in front of Victoria’s Secret and MAC.

Why did I think it was a good idea to come here?! I need to start practicing self-​control much harder now.
I am in love with Macaron by Patisse. I love that the macarons are sweet but not overbearingly sweet. $ 2.25 for a macaron is crazy expensive, yes, and no, I would not spend this much on a macaron normally. I ended up getting the box of a dozen for $ 25, so at least I got to save a teeny bit.

I wanted to try many more of the flavors, but I bought the box for a friend’s birthday so my tasting was limited. I will definitely be back to give some of these delicious, gluten-​free & only 50 calorie goodies some more love! I just need to wait for another special occasion though because they are so dang pricey.

I have not been to the actual brick and mortar version of this, but I have stopped by the stand that they have at the galleria. Let me start off by saying that the line was pretty long and the lady was a little on the slow side. However, I can’t pass up a macaroon so I waited.
I was really impressed by the selection that they had and by the way that the macaroons looked. Most macaroons are one color, but several of theirs had designs or were in shapes with sprinkles on them. I ordered the almond, the birthday cake, and the cinnamon swirl. The quality of the actual macaroon itself was fabulous. It didn’t crumble in my hand like some. Instead, it was chewy and the cream in the center was just right. However, the taste itself was lacking. My almond and cinnamon were more on the sweet side instead of having a distinct flavor. The birthday cake was probably the best in the fact that it truly tasted like cake.
All in all, for 2. 50 a piece, I expect perfection. I have to say that nothing has best Sweets in the City Centre. Although, knowing me, if I were by this place again, I would more than likely try it again. I just can’t say no to a beautiful macaroon.

I get to go again this Friday! 78 miles is nothing. Sukaina and Mohammed are the absolutely most lovely people I have had the pleasure to have wait on me. I am so blessed to have had so many gift cards from family members (due to the number of pics on my Facebook, they realized my hints), but also for my own gift. My list is growing of my favorites, making it difficult to narrow down to which are tops… Fig and Goat Cheese, Bluberry Vanilla Bean and Lavender with White Chocolate, Rose, Fleur de Sel, Cinammon Roll, Pecan Pie… I haven’t had any that weren’t fabulous and fresh, also so light and made fresh daily. The store is lovely and very tasteful, much like their owners. I have gained weight, but this place is worth every calorie. Macarons are not high in calories, however if you consume the ent
dozen or two one purchases all in one sitting it will catch up with you eventually! It has… see you Friday.

I’ve been dying to try this place for months. It’s known as Houston’s best macaroon spot. So when I found out about a really cool event they were doing I finally decided to swing by. The event was amazing and the owner, Sukaina was seriously so sweet. She’s super friendly and helpful the entire time.
Now for the macaroons. Tell me why I haven’t had this place before? Salted Caramel was the to die for, my best friend loved her goat cheese and fig. Honestly you can close your eyes and pick a flavor and it’ll be the best macaroon you’ve had. Try the gelato pops! It is the best thing ever created. Do yourself the favor, make the drive and you’ll never go anywhere else!

I don’t know how I haven’t reviewed this place yet! I’ve been coming here since they opened, and I will never go to any other macaron place again. I actually hated macarons when I first tried them at a place called «Sweet.» With Patisse however, it was love at first bite, ha ha ha. Seriously though, the pistachio, green tea, coco noir, salted caramel, and the fig & goat cheese are sooo good. The macarons here are so light and more importantly, not overwhelmingly sweet. One time, they had mango flavored ones, and those were my absolute fave! Please bring them back :)
The owners are also the sweetest people ever, and I’m so happy that their business is doing so well. The drive to here is 30 min for me, but not once have I minded one bit!

Bought a sampling from their Kiosk in The Galleria. Oh my! These are delicious!!! And these tasted better than the famous Bouchon Bakery in Yountville, CA.
I’m so glad we tried them.
