Founded in 1998 by Melissa Kepke Grobmyer, MKG Art Management’s has become one of the largest Art Advisory and Appraisal firms in Houston.

Business Owner

Melissa Kepke Grobmyer earned her Bachelor of Arts and her Master of Arts degrees at the University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated with high honors. Before becoming an art advisor, Mrs. Grobmyer worked with 9^th through 18^th century Decorative art at Sotheby’s in New York. Later she worked with Contemporary art at Robert Miller Gallery and 19^th century American art at Richard York Gallery, both in New York. After returning to Houston, Mrs. Grobmyer worked at an art-​advising firm, where she edited American Images: The SBC Collection of Twentieth-​Century American Art, published by Abrams in 1996.

In 1998, Mrs. Grobmyer founded MKG Art Management, the only art advisory and appraisal firm in Houston at that time. Through her career as an art advisor, Mrs. Grobmyer has assembled collections focused on topics such as American photography, Contemporary art, African-​American art, Latino-​American art, Asian-​American art, and Texas Regionalism.
