Specialties

FOUND offers an assortment of home furnishings and accessories that include a mix of classic 18th and 19th century — serious Louis XVI pieces and drippy chandeliers; mid century items — all of the shops upholstery is vintage from the ‘40s and ‘60s; and to set the store apart unique one of a kind industrial pieces. FOUND has gained local and national attention in an exceedingly short period of time since opening to the public. The reality is that this is not just another antique/home furnishings store. It is a store full of surprises, concepts and ideas that are predicated on an inspiration of sustainable authenticity — the «new» antique.

History

Established in 2006.

The conceptual framework of FOUND® was developed by Aaron Rambo and Ruth Davis in the summer of 2006. The creative point of view of Found™ is grounded in the belief that home furnishings should be less about style and more about living with authenticity.

«We simply collect items that speak to us, regardless of provenance. It’s about living with authenticity.»

— Aaron Rambo, Owner

Meet the Business Owner

Aaron R.

Business Owner

Moving to Houston 15 years ago, Rambo immediately began setting the tone for his design career. He began working under a leading florist and event planner, but broadened his scope when he left to work as an independent interior designer. His close association with several prominent stores led him into the area of retail merchandising. Known for his unique pairings of styles, Rambo continues to enjoy the art of display. On a constant mission to «strengthen the dialogue» between furnishings, Rambo now can do so in his own retail environment. His role as creative director of Found enables him to create a space that reflects his point of view.

The inventory he and partner Ruth Davis select is chosen for its graphic quality and integrity of the piece, regardless of age or origin. The happy friction between these items is what Rambo and Found are all about-looking at things for what they are and accepting them for that. It is the mix that works and keeps things interesting.
