This food is delicious! The brisket is so tender, the chicken flavored so well, and the sausage is amazing. Don’t forget to try their cobblers! Best BBQ in TEXAS!!!

The sliced brisket(sandwich) was dry as well as the cheeseburger. Their bbq sauce is more liquid-like, not thick like than most places. I also had the peach cobbler. That wasn’t very flavorful. Overall, I spent over $ 30 for two brisket sandwiches(each with 2 sides), cheeseburger, peach cobbler, and pecan pie. It wasn’t worth the money. You’re better off going down the street to Rudy’s.

Has the baked potato with brisket and the fried fish with side of cheesy rice and broccoli. The batter for the fish was wonderful! Definitely filling

If you’ve got a strange hankering for Lunch Lady Land, this place is for you. It reminds me a lot of Rudy’s, both in terms of what you eat and the fact that it seems to stay pretty busy, especially during the lunchtime rush.

I don’t normally frequent the nw side of town but now that I work over here I look for new places to eat. This place is a diamond in the rough for me. I had the pork ribs and baked Potato and it was great ribs were tender and the potatoe was cooked all the way thru I will definitely go back to try other items on the menu

I just tried this place for the first time today. It is very close to my office and I just happened to see the menu. The deal of the day was a garden salad with any type of meat for very cheap. I went with the chicken because I’m trying to eat healthier. It was great. If I wasn’t eating light I definitely would’ve got sliced BBQ and some pie! I like how the owner stands on site, he cared about his customers and staff. I will be back!

Yummy! I’m picky about my bbq but this place is legit. Yeah it’s a little pricey like all bbq places but their meals are large enough to split between 2 ppl. My husband and I never finish one plate between us because it’s so much food. Ribs are off the chain and sweet tea is AWESOME

I am a fan of this place. Just simple BBQ done right. It has not been tainted I would say. The brisket is fresh; the sides are made from Scratch. If you like things prepared the old fashioned way without a bunch of bells and whistles this is the place to go. Order Brisket and Ribs here and let the food speak for itself.

4 or 7 ribs amigo? I went for 7 ans coudn’t finish, I am 6’3″…so unless you are a real Texas guy, choose less. Taste was good and place very real… you feel you are in TX at the very moment you open the door.

Ordered ¼ chopped brisket with spicy corn. The brisket was tasty, but the bbq sauce is a bit plain for me. I like that it was warm, though. The corn wasn’t spicy, but it tasted fine. I’m not happy I was overcharged $ 4. I didn’t notice this mistake until after I sat down and looked over my receipt. I asked for and had water, but was charged for soda/tea. I ordered a ¼ of brisket but was charged for 1⁄3. I wouldn’t mind going back in the future, but I’ll definitely need to check my receipt at the register. It wasn’t busy at all so I’m not sure why there were a few discrepancies.

I used to be a regular at Lyndon’s for several years after it opened. I moved further out 290 and hadn’t been back. I was taking dinner to my mother last night and decided to swing by Lyndon’s. It was late in the afternoon and the parking lot was empty except for the employees. I wasn’t sure if this was a bad sign or not. I ventured in anyway. I stopped in front of the huge menu and gave it a look over. I decided to get my mom catfish as she loves it and they had a special on a pork chop with 1 side. The guys working were so friendly and made me so comfortable even though I was the only one in the place. They bagged my food up and I took it over to my Mom’s. We talked for a long while before getting to our food. I warmed her fish up for her and she said it was delicious. She said the coleslaw was particularly good. As soon as I opened the styrofoam container for my pork chop, the heavenly scent of what I believe to be hickory floated out. I dared not microwave this beautiful piece of pork that was literally 2−½″ thick. It was so thick, I could only each the outer edge of it. I took the rest home and threatened my husband and kids not to touch it. My brother who lives in the area tasted my pork chop and was impressed which is not easy. He also liked the coleslaw and wanted to know what other sides they had because he planned to go there himself. Don’t let it’s location or appearance fool you, this is still a great place. One of my favorite thinks about it is how they have their bbq sauce in glass jars on a hot plate so you get hot bbq sauce. Most of the meals are around the $ 10-$ 12, less if you get a sandwich but the portions are well worth it.

We love this place. We go there at least once a week. The chopped beef sandwich is awesome. All the food here is very tender and tasty. I highly recommend that you give them a try, you won’t regret it.

Ordered a tooon of food from here. Their ribs were COLOSSAL-large! Everything here tasted great, especially for takeout so you would expect it to fall short in many ways… but nope! It was really good in flavors and quantity, as well. I also had the roast chicken and that was great. The sauces that were provided were also pretty good. Location is not convenient but would definitely be back if in the area.

Ate here today for the first time. Thought everything was very good, better than most bbq restaurants in Houston. The brisket and ribs were very tender and adequately smoked. The coleslaw tasted like it had a vinegar based dressing that I really like and the potato salad had that homemade taste. I will go back.

I am addicted to their baked potato with chopped beef. It’s my favorite thing to eat in the world. God, I’m drooling just thinking about it. I am a huge fan of their bbq sauce. I’ve had lots of chopped beef baked potatoes from other places in Houston, but Lyndon’s is definitely my favorite.

1÷31÷1311:28am — Typical Houston rotisserie barbecue. This place scored better than most because they pay close attention to tenderness. It is a popular place and will satisfy your craving for Texas barbecue. I scored Lyndon’s a 78 out of 100. This is Real Texas Barbecue. Smoke: This not PIT barbecue. The name is misleading. They even have the words«The Pit» on the doors to their rotisserie ovens. I do not prefer rotisserie but I understand the logistics. What I hate is the intentional misleading of customers. Just because your stainless steel appliance is described as a «pit» does not make it a PIT! The pit-not-in-sight, standard 1/8in smoke ring, exhaust vents and teeny tiny stacks of oak wood are dead ringers for rotisserie. Brisket: Good. It was snap apart nearly perfect tender. It goes downhill from there. The only flavor was beef. There was no smoke aroma. There was no rub. Is smoke and flavor to much to ask for from a barbecue joint? If I wanted roast beef I would go to Jason’s Deli. Use the sauce. Ribs: Good. It was soft clean bite and clean bone, nearly perfect tender. It goes downhill from there. The only flavor was pork. There was a faint smoke aroma. There was no rub or glaze. Once again, is smoke and flavor too much to ask for? Use the sauce. Sausage: Great. The best item on the plate. It had smoke ring larger than the brisket! It had smoke flavor! It was a coarse ground pork sausage with good spice. There was not much after taste. It had little grease which i prefer. No sauce needed. Sauce: Great. You could bottle and drink this stuff. It is served in a ketchup bottle off a plate warmer. Overall flavor was great. It was vinegar spicy molasses semisweet sauce. Not that it was a high threshold, but this made everything taste so much better. Drown everything in the sauce.

Peach cobbler tastes store bought and not home made. Ribs were mostly tender with the ends being rather tough. The bread, BBQ sauce, and gumbo were pretty good. I was expecting a much better performance since I was the 2nd patron here immediately after opening. Possibly I received leftover ribs from the previous day.

Neither Houston rain, sleet or ice shall deter this Unilocaler from going out and finding new places to eat. No exception today(it was raining cats and dogs)– Lyndon’s BBQ was pretty good. Was it the best BBQ I’ve had? No, that still goes to Rudy’s off 290, but Lyndons was good. The Pork ribs were ok, BBQ beans good, and the corn casserole was okay. The décor was awesome — very Texas BBQ(checkered table clothes, complete with old-time country music not too loud) The place was very clean, had very friendly staff, real flatware, great sauce. Also, did you ever wonder where those guys on History Channel called«The Pickers» sell their stuff to? This is one of those places :) Lots of Texas history on the walls and there’s even a story of the Stantons near the front. The Q’ was good here, about average I’d say for what I got. I’ll go back and try the brisket or the pulled pork. Forget the onion rings — they’re huge and tasteless. The things reminded me of hollowed out softballs, sliced into rings and then battered/fried.
