Joseph J. Earthman Generations is Houston’s original family-​operated, independent provider of comprehensive funeral, memorial, cremation, and pre-​planning services. We believe in the value of funeral services as a source of comfort and healing. Because the presence of a casket, in its simplicity and magnitude, captures the solemnity of the funeral service and expresses respect and reverence for the deceased in the most impactful way, we encourage families to allow the body of their loved one to be present at the service, even when selecting cremation. Our commitment to this principle is reflected in our unique portfolio of services that no other funeral provider offers.

History

Joseph J. Earthman Generations is Houston’s premier, family owned and operated funeral, memorial and cremation services company from Houston’s most famous name in funeral service. The comfort to the families we serve is our priority which is why we offer Joseph J. Earthman exclusives such as in-​home arrangements. We also accept competing funeral home burial and cremation policies and will happily refund any unused or not needed services. The Earthman family has been in funeral service in Texas for over 120 years: a proud legacy Joseph J. Earthman humbly continues.

Business Owner

Joseph J. Earthman started his personal career in funeral service in 1992. Having worked in every aspect of funeral service, Mr. Earthman observed that traditional funeral homes were not meeting the basic needs of the families served and, therefore, opened Generations in 2011 to create services based on the basic function of a funeral or memorial service: to begin a natural and healthy healing process. Mr. Earthman is a licensed funeral director and embalmer and is licensed with the Texas Insurance Commission to provide pre-​paid burial and cremation insurance policies. As a musician, Mr. Earthman also keeps a busy schedule on Houston’s live music scene and is a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Memorial Park.
