James Coney Island

Great place for hot dogs and other fast casual good like burgers and chili. JCI is a Houston tradition since the 20’s and they have always delivered great food. My only complaint is that they have slowly crept up the prices so you end up spending $ 10 per person one way or another

Up in front. Waited 15 minutes. Nobody brought it out.
Have to go inside and get my food. Lady at drive through very rude. This location is awful!!!

This is the first time that I have been to this location. I was impressed by the service as well as the professionalism of the employees. The food was made fresh to order & not kept warm under the heat lamps.
The only complaint, which is beyond the stores control, is they need a corn dog meal deal instead of having to purchase the items separately.
I will definitely be back!

Finally made it with kids. From the BYO dog on artisan bread to chicken tender I snagged from my daughter, good food. Also clean, extremely friendly and helpful staff.

I ate a burger at a hot dog spot, probably not the best decision. I’ve had there dogs before and I like em. But I was in the mood for a burger. I ordered the cheeseburger combo (8.50 $). The burger was bad. The cheese had a really bad taste abd it wasn’t melted. I believe it was cheddar cheese, I didn’t have a good lunch. Service was good. The manager came to ask how everything was, I told him the cheese was not good, he didn’t take the initiative to help me solve the issue, its a fastfoood joint so… the hotdogs and chili is the only reason to come here in my opinion, stay away from the burgers

I love James Coney Island, but this one doesn’t do it justice. Cold food, food not given to you on the tray as you go through line, and no condiment bottles to bring to the table makes this a subpar example.

My favorite hot dog as a kid. Cheese coney all the way! My dad used to take us all the time and we all loved it. This was way before the «gourmet» hot dog era so this is all we had and it was always a treat. Till this day I will always love going to James Coney Island and getting a cheese coney or chili bowl w/​Fritos. For those who have never been, James Coney Island a great everyday hot dog that you must try.

Terrible service at this JCI. The worst I have ever had at a JCI. The service was terrible. The french fries were very old and the chili dogs were barely warm. This is one of my favorite places to get a chili dog and I was very disappointed!

This is an excellent pit stop if you are on 45 going anywhere, especially Galveston to Downtown. Stopping for a dog just makes your day that much more awesome as you drip chili and cheese on your short-​throw shifter and you try to decide if you can suavely lick it off before anyone notices. Nobody saw that, right? Good.
You can go for a plain Jane hot dog with nothing on it, sure. But don’t you want to compliment the doughy, soft, tasty bun and perfectly cooked hot dog (no black scorch marks to be found!) with a ton of chili and cheese on top? And wouldn’t those tasty french fries, so lonely and naked over there, enjoy being smothered with another big helping of chili and cheese on top of them? I am not going to tell you how to live your life — but I think you should put chili and cheese allllllllllllll over that. And then eat it. So tasty. And for such a cheap price tag.
This is a fast food place so you can’t expect too much witty banter from the employees — but at least they are not rude like the riff-​raff you can typically expect from a Subway or Popeye’s.

Stopped here for a couple chilli dogs before heading to the airport. Not to bad, very plain and good chilli dogs. You cant screw that up. It was good. Had some chilli cheese fries as well. Cheap and good. Cant go wrong.
