Jackson’s Place Dog Daycare

Debbie and her crew are nice, conscientious, and really care about your dog as if it were their own. You can tell they take interest in each pet to make sure they have a good experience. Additionally, they are very organized and professionally run. We boarded our two dachshunds for a long weekend and I can tell they were treated wonderfully and with excellent care.

There is simply no better place in or around Houston. I drive in to Jackson’s Place from my home West of Katy when I go out of town and need boarding. I have used Jackson’s Place exclusively for overnight boarding for almost two years. Jackson’s Place is amazing and the people are wonderful like my dog’s extended family.

My dog Nala is a Golden/​Lab mix, so she has quite a bit of energy. I take her to Jackson’s place once a week so she can run around and play with other dogs. She loves it!!! Every Wednesday when we head to the car she gets so excited!
I also use Jackson’s Place for boarding whenever I am out of town, and they are great! They are super helpful in making sure she gets all her medications while I’m away. I love that they do boarding and daycare because now when I leave my dog for trips she doesn’t get upset. She is excited to go spend time with her friends at camp!
I definitely recommend Jackson’s Place for daycare and boarding! (The cute treats they make are a big hit with my pup too!)

ABOUT THE BAKERY–
Though they have a small selection of treats in their bakery, we stopped by to pick up a 4″ birthday cake for our birthday boy ($ 24.99). Yes, the treats here are a bit pricier compared to your average pet store, but it is definitely worth it! In addition, the treats here are adorable!
Our pup and his best friend LOVED the cake! The ingredients here are fresh and taste delicious– that’s right. I tried my pup’s cake after the employee there told me that even humans can eat it. Just in case you’re wondering, the cake tastes like a crispy, and lingering peanut butter cookie on the palate.

Came here to get a cake for my dogs first birthday and he absolutely loved the cake! They were very helpful and wrapped up the cake in a cute little box. We couldn’t get a picture of him and the cake outside of the box bc he kept trying to devour it. Smelled so good we couldn’t blame him. Definitely recommend this place for dog treats/​cakes/​special occasions.

Dropped by after work to pick up a birthday treat for my Dodger. The lady behind the counter (sorry i didn’t catch your name) was so pleasant and helpful. She happily answered all my questions about the ingredients and prices. My lil angel has a sensitive tummy, so knowing how they’re made was my main concern. I bought two cookies which were made with peanut butter, pumpkin and honey. He LOVED them (of course haha) and his tummy was happy too.
Tip: The only reason i took a star away… Have cash if you dont plan on spending more than $ 10.

I absolutely love Jackson’s Place, and so does my dog. I have a very high-​energy Siberian Husky, and I can’t leave him at home during the day because he gets bored and then all that energy goes into chewing up the furniture or destroying anything he can get his paws on. So he spends his days at Jackson’s Place, where he can romp around with his doggie buddies and his human friends who work there.
We have been going to Jackson’s Place for nearly a decade now, and my dog is always excited when we pull up there in the morning. The employees are TRUE DOG PEOPLE, who love being around dogs and are great at caring for them. Tommy loves spending time there and when I pick him up in the evenings, he has spent all his energy and is a happy, calm dog at home.
I also highly recommend Jackson’s Place for boarding, as they are completely cage-​free and so the dogs have room to roam around and to stretch out when it’s time to sleep. They always have an employee who stays there overnight, so you don’t have to worry about something happening during non-​business hours.

Business looks like a house. It’s a dog bakery/​daycare. Bakery is a small section but has quite a few selections of decorated dog biscuits with writing such as stud, bitch, woof, and rescue dog. They also have some shaped in mini ice cream cones and I love the little dog cakes. I purchased a decorated biscuit for my dog and yet to give it to him to see if he likes it. All ingredients used are safe for your dog such as wheat and peanut butter.

Stopped by for a birthday cake for my pup. It was beautiful and quite tasty — I always try what I feed my dog — and nonperishable. The owner was so friendly! I liked the atmosphere and you could tell they really care for the pups they look after.

Such a cute little place! They have all sorts of dog treats and they also do boarding.
This review is strictly for the treats (cakes, cake balls, petit fours, etc) for DOGS, not people. I haven’t given them to my dog yet but the lady was nice and friendly. Also, the lady was very friendly and helpful with what was available.

I bought my dog a birthday cake from here and she absolutely loved it. Very nice people and highly recommended.

My husband and I have the sweetest little Morkie. She’s very loving and well trained. We’ve had her for over a year and have only left her with either family or dog sitters, who watch her at our home. Because we were getting married in a couple of days and needed some place to leave our pup on the day of the wedding (as our family and friends would obviously be tied up), we decided to give Jackson’s place a shot because of all the great reviews.
We left her at around 7:30 in the morning. I call in at about 10:30 am to check in on her. I was told she was doing fine, playing, and having fun. At about 2pm, I get a call from a Stranger who then tells me she’s found my dog running along West Alabama almost getting hit several times by passing cars. I’m so confused because she was supposed to be at daycare and no one has even alerted me to her being missing. I request the lady to please please secure our little dog so I can meet her somewhere. By 3pm, I finally have my little puppy back, and still no call from Jackson’s place to even let me know that she’s gone missing. By 3:30 pm my husband and I arrive on location to see what has happened and the lady who first met with us had the nerve to blame our dog getting loose on our dog! She wasn’t even remotely apologetic even though they advertise having someone watching your pup ²⁴⁄₇. I inquire on why we weren’t even NOTIFIED that she had gotten loose and she tells me that they were more preoccupied with finding her. Yet, what a lie because someone was always attending the front desk and could manage a 5 minute call.
Trust me, we could have kenneled her for half the price, but wanted a safe, secure environment where we could TRUST that our little pup could safely stay. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PUP HERE — Who knows how many dogs have gotten loose and they just luckily found them before the owner could find out!!!

I should’ve written this review a long time ago, as I am a very happy and loyal customer. First off, I’m single and all of my family is in Ohio. The reason I say that, is that my dog is my only family here and I am extremely protective of him. My job has me traveling a lot during the day, so in my mind daycare was a must for my pooch. What I like is the personnel, they are all dog lovers and if someone isn’t, they are gone very soon. Keep in mind that most overnight facilities do not have an individual that stays the night. As far as control of the animals, they are on top of everything. If I dog has a couple incidents of aggressiveness, they are gone. Please check this place out, you won’t be disappointed.
What prompted me to write this today, was that I saw a negative post on here that ticked me off. The security is a big selling point on why I feel comfortable leaving my dog here on an overnight basis. They don’t let people pick up their animals after a certain time because its just not safe. If you can’t make it on time that’s your fault, I don’t want my dogs safety to suffer because of your work schedule.

Jackson’s Place has been a life saver! It is conveniently located and my dog absolutely loves going there every day. In fact, he runs straight to the front door every morning with enthusiasm! I’m so lucky to have found such a great place for Red to spend the day (cage free) while I am at work. The entire staff is like a family, and are so friendly. Love them lots :) I also refer my patients, coworkers, and friends to Jackson’s Place for their dog day care and boarding needs.

I chose Jackson’s based on the reviews on Unilocal however when I arrived today I felt like my fellow Unilocalers were reviewing another day care. I’ll keep this short & sweet because GOOD pet parents don’t need a million details to make the right decision.
1. Dirty & run down full of cute art and chotchkies and nothing else.
2. The TV mounted for us to view the rooms was showing a sitcom, not the dogs.
3. There was one person there at 2:30pm and at least 25 dogs.
4. The room the small dogs were kept in smelled of urine and one of the dogs was sleeping on a bed with visible pee on it.
5. The kid in charge was not competent to make decisions, answer questions or put me in contact with someone more qualified. He just kept repeating himself over and over.
Needless to say I decided not to move forward with Maverick’s boarding. I wouldn’t leave my boy there for one day much less the one week I was planning on.
I’m sure the doggie treats and cakes are great as the other reviews said but that’s just not enough.
Fortunately I went back to Unilocal & was lucky enough to find Yuppie Dog in The Heights and that’s where Maverick will be staying next week while I’m in LA.

I want to give this place 5 stars because the employees are amazing and my dog LOVES going to daycare. However, I have to give this place one star because the owner does not know how to treat customers and I’m not sure about how the dogs are treated overnight. In essence, the owner yelled at me, threatened to fight me and hung up in my face after I asked her to give me my dog back. Probably, not the best way to treat your customers in general and it really makes me question what she is like around helpless dogs. For more details please read below.
I chose this place because they have pickup as late as 7pm, which for an attorney is a big deal. Additionally, their website says «late fees apply for late pickup.» Another selling point for an attorney because there will be times when I will be late to pick up my dog — it is the nature of the job. For these two reasons and good Unilocal reviews, I chose to bring my dog to Jacksons.
So, for the first time last week, I was running late to pick up my dog. I informed Jacksons Place that I was going to be late to which they replied «ok.» Relying on the late fee, as mentioned on the website, and the «ok,» I showed up at 8pm to pick up the pooch. Upon my arrival, I was shocked to see the place pitch black and on lock down. As I was walking up, I could hear the dogs barking and whimpering inside. I rang the doorbell (which has a sign posted next to it saying «Ring for after hours pick up or drop off»). Nobody answered so I called. Nobody picked up. I called again, and finally someone picked up.
I explained my situation to the employee and the employee said that my dog would have to stay their overnight because their policy is that if the dogs are not picked up by 7, they have to stay the night. You can imagine my surprise give the info on the website, my phonecall and the stupid sign next to the doorbell! All signs point to the ability to pick up your dog after 7pm! But I digress.
The employee told me on the phone that he is locked inside with the dogs and there is a security alarm set up to which he does not have the code. Only the owner can set the alarm or undo the alarm. He gave me the owners number to call to see if she would undo the alarm (which she has the ability to undo from her cell phone mind you). I gave her a call and (excuse my language) but B**** be cray.
She would hardly let me explain my situation, she went off on a rant about not being late to pick up your dog and said that when she is late to pick up her own dog, her own dogs have to stay the night as well. I tried to explain to her the website, my phonecall and the sign by the doorbell, but to avail. I asked if she would let me get my dog just this once and she said no because it would disrupt the other dogs who are boarding there. (in my defense, it was 8pm during the summer. the sun is still out and the dogs were barking like mad inside so not sure what type of disturbance this would cause — yet another sign that this woman be cray). I told her that I don’t want to bring my dog to Jackson’s Place anymore and she began to yell at me saying that I won’t be seeing my dog until tomorrow morning. Because the owner is hostile and crazy, I threatened to call the police and she threatened to fight me and hung up in my face.
Clearly, she is unstable. Clearly, she doesn’t know how to deal with customers. The easy fix was to say hey just this once I’ll give you your dog back but going forward you should be there at 7 to pick her up. Instead, she yelled. Instead, she threatened to fight me. Instead, she hung up in my face. It makes me wonder how she reacts when a poor dog does not obey her every command. Does she yell at them too? Does she start beating them? And who locks their employees in a building with an alarm code that only the owner can undo? Are you serious?
The following morning, I picked up my dog who hadn’t slept a single wink that night. I brought her home, she immediately fell asleep. My dog, no matter how tired, will always follow me around the house and she is especially clingy when she knows I am leaving to go out. She did not move while I was getting ready for work or when I left the house. She just slept.

Emergency! We realized it was our dog’s birthday and we had not gotten him a cake. What terrible parents we are. We found Jackson’s online and noticed the high recommendation ratings. We quickly ran over to the Doggy Daycare and made it just before closing. The owner greeted us immediatley and asked how she could help. She explained all of the different dog birthday cakes and all of their ingredients. She asked about our dog and we even showed her some pictures, which she loved. We immediately sensed her passion for dogs and how much she cared about them.
If we were ever going to send our dog to Dog Daycare it would be here. Our dog surely enjoyed the cake eventhough he was given only a little bit over the course of a few days due to instructions given by the owner. Luckily she explained how much he should eat or else he would have had the «fluffies» as she worded it haha.
The owner also told us to take a picture of our dog and the cake and she would post on their facebook site. It was fun to send her the picture and see his picture on their facebook page. Totally added to their great customer service and enhanced our opinion of Jackson’s.

We’ve never had to board our sweet pup, so I was wary of just handing him over to any old person. I met someone at the dog park who highly recommended Jackson’s, so I decided to try them out.
I called them up on a Wednesday evening, and once I had my vet fax over Tommy’s shot records we scheduled an evaluation for that Friday (they won’t board a dog until they’ve observed him at the daycare for at least 8 hours). My puppy is cute as hell, but he’s a bad boy too who loves to jump all over other dogs and chew on shoes, so I was scared he wouldn’t pass whatever test they were using… luckily, he did and they said he played nicely all day. We dropped him off Saturday morning so he could be boarded until Sunday afternoon, and I knew we were leaving him in good hands!
As a Montrosian (I made it up, what?), I really appreciate a cute bungalow and yard for my dog to run around in… feels like home! And the dogs are never in crates — they sleep in open rooms during the evening next to other dogs their size. Tommy was pretty scared as we entered the house — it smelled like the vet with it’s cleaning products, but he immediately warmed up when the friendly staff offered him treats and slowly introduced him to the other pets. It’s now Tuesday, and puppy is still warn out from all the playing he got over the weekend (just how I like him, cuddled up next to me on the couch instead of eating shoes or barking to go running)! This will be our go-​to boarding place!

New to Houston, luckily, we found Jackson’s Place on our 2^nd attempt to accomodate our dogs needs for daycare and occasional overnight care. Leaving her last daycare as one spoiled princess, we quickly discovered not every doggie daycare is warm and inviting.
Upon our first evaluation day, I was nervous that she would be placed with a group of very active small dogs. Some daycares separate dogs strictly on size. Jackson’s Place will actually place your dog with a group that best matches his or her temperament. My little girl is a lazy one! Depending on who’s in attendance that day, she may be in a room with sleeping puppies or slow moving seniors. Either way, she is happy.
They are much more popular and therefor morecrowded than the pics on their website depict. They have since expanded their rooms into what used to be the lobby. Drop/​off pick up space is a little crowded, but it gets the job done. With the new layout, my pup is able to see other dogs and people all day.
They let the dogs outside every hour during daycare and someone lives onsite 24 hours. They sleep in their «room» with other dogs– not in a kennel.
We love JP’s long hours! We usually have to drop off early and pickup late to meet work demands. They are open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. JP offers great overnight care that is especially convenient when we travel on the weekends. Some places require a 12pm pickup or they have to stay another night! JP allows pickup until 7:00 p.m. even on Sundays.
We are so pleased to find relaxed, warm and accomodating care for our little girl when we can’t be home with her. Thank you JP!

I love, love, LOVE this place and so does my dog!
I usually end up taking my dog here about once every two weeks, and the staff here has always been incredible. They know my dog by name, and when we get out of the car she makes a beeline for the door. She is thrilled to be there.
The daycare is located in a cute little house in Montrose near the Menil, and is separated into small and large dog areas. My little dog isn’t too easily intimidated by the big ones, but she prefers to play with pups her own size.
They email you invoices that you can pay online as soon as you drop your dog off, which makes pick up go a lot more smoothly, as you aren’t having to stand around and pay. One time, PayPal had a hiccup and charged me twice (although I didn’t realize it), and when I came in to pick up my dog, the owner was the one who notified me of the problem and offered me a refund of the extra or a credit (I took the credit).
Shots are required and all dogs have to pass a temperament test to get in, but every time I have peeked in, it looks like everyone is playing together beautifully.
