IMT at The Medical Center

I would not recommend this place unless you must live next to the metro or work at nrg stadium.
These are clearly 600 dlls apartments, they just increase the price due to the great location.
Everything is very OLD, if you look closely you will notice many cracks in the walls that have been just painted over. Their thermostat alone is probably around 15 years old, which should give you an idea that they lack concern for improvements.
I had a neighbor who had his truck stolen from the gated complex, and have been told by other neighbors about bicycles that been stolen, this is all despite the security guard patrolling.
The gates RARELY stay closed so many people are free to come in.
Management is extremely nice and accommodating.
Overall with the current pricing it is highly overpriced, old amenities, and I have not found any future work for improvements. Management makes this place good to live though, but I suggest you do not trust the pictures, as the conditions are very different. The only place that seems to be perfect is the leasing office, go figure.

Well, I lived here for six months, then traveled abroad and once I got back I chose to live in the same place again for apparently multiple strong reasons. Location, cleanliness, order, quietness, services, and most importantly the management. Especially Anarella and the rest of the team: Gracie, Sherrie, and Dee. They form one of the best teams I have ever seen, They are listening, cooperative, active and almost always responsive. I will definitely recommend this place to others.

I wasn’t looking to move-​in until the beginning of Fall semester, and most places would turn the other way when I would mention my move-​in date, that is, until I came to visit IMT at the Medical Center. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and offered a beverage. I informed the leasing person about my move-​in date and that I was getting a head start on my apartment search. She informed me about all of the one bedrooms that could be suitable for my needs. She didnt make me feel unimportant, and even better, she did not rush me, as a matter of fact, I felt right at home. The tour of the community was great, the pool area is well maintained and clean and I love that I can easily take the MetroRail to school. IMT at the Medical Center has definitely earned a spot in my top choice for apartment living and I look forward to making a decision within the next month and calling this place my new home.

IMT at the Medical Center has been a great experience for me, and I would never change anything about it. The staff is helpful and very family oriented. They also make you feel welcome when you come through the doors, and as a resident, I use to live in an one bed room apartment, and that experience to was great, I had no complaints or issues, and the maintenance people are so helpful that they came and fixed my problems that I had. Then after a while I was looking to expand and again, the IMT employee’s reassured that I would get the apartment that I requested for, and they never failed to do that, because they are a huge family that takes care of their residents. I’m glad that I chose IMT at the medical center as my home and I’m glad I have people like the IMT employee’s to call my friends and family! Lastly, if I were to recommend, this apartment to a prospective resident, I would tell them, if they want to have live in a safe and clean place with family oriented staff that care’s about it’s residents, then they should look into IMT at the medical center, because they are helpful, trustworthy, and they are one huge happy family!

Leasing people were so nice and friendly. Property it was clean and quiet, witch it was my main consideration .
Overall, i can say compare to all property around, this was is the nicest one.

This apartment complex has a number of great things going for it. First of all, the location. You are right next to the Metro rail way, so you can easily hop on a train and arrive in downtown area in 30 minutes. You are also next door to the NRG Stadium. Want to catch a football game? It is right next door. Want to catch the annual Rodeo LiveStock show? it is next door without paying for parking.
Secondly, and personally, I find it far more crucial than the location, is the management team. I have nothing but great things to say about the management here at this complex. Special mentions to Gracie, Alexx, Sherrie, Anarella, and the maintenance workers on site (just to new a few, Victor, Samuel, Francisco, and etc). Without the good people working here and providing friendly services to the residences here, great location won’t mean much after all.
Throughout my time here (4+ years) as a resident, it wasn’t without issues though. For example, based on the amount of rent we pay, the amenity here is not as up-​to-​date, compared to other newer apartment complexes. I am aware that the management does update furnishings inside the apartment when residents move out and when they have downtime to refurnish. However, when they are in high capacity or in great demand, they may still rent you at a high premium (due to location) for a kitchen or bathroom that don’t match up to the price.
In addition, we did have a number of car thefts here. I am personally aware that we have at least 3 cars stolen from 2014 to the time of writing this review. We also had a car broken into this year so far. For the past 4+ years, I am also aware there were 3 apartment being broken into with stuff taken (2 of which happened before IMT took over the management). The management for its part has taken steps to boost up the security, and hires guards to patrol areas in the evening.
In this area at least, while this community doesn’t have stellar low-​crime rate, You won’t find any nearby communities that actually take actions to boost up their securities, or at least quite like IMT does. I know for a fact that another apartment complex just down the street (2111 Holly Hall Apartments), had a fatal shooting took place in May 2012). With that knowledge in mind, I actually feel a whole lot safer living in IMT.
Overall, I think if you choose to live around medical center, especially near NRG stadium, IMT is it. You won’t find a better or safer places elsewhere.

I don’t hate this place, I hate myself for paying 1200 for a crappy 1 bedroom. Complex is filled with feral cats and dog poop. My suspicion is that some jerk students thought it would be fun to have a cat, then dumped it outside when they had to graduate or move. I have roaches despite keeping an extremely clean home, and I heard there were rats in some units as well. If I find bedbugs, I will dry heave my way to a different location IMMEDIATELY… some folks in the complex have had them… Rooms are strange… there are no lights in the bedroom or living room. No lights. You have to get lamps that are bright enough to illuminate an entire room, and for a student, this makes a tough and uncomfortable place to study. In any other area, I’d say a place like this should go for 600 – 700 a month. The metro is close, sure, but I’d rather just drive to smithlands station and park there for $ 17 out of my paycheck.
My advice is to look elsewhere. I wont be renewing my lease. It sucks walking home on a humid day and catching a whiff of animal feces. Staff is ok. They handle service requests quickly most of the time. Maybe not the nicest people but it is a large community.
Also, I don’t have any pets but their pet fee is RIDICULOUS. $ 300 non refundable + $ 20 a month for rent. What if you just have a cat who doesn’t cause any damage? They are charging these prices because they can. Let’s be real, this is Houston, not NYC or London. In fact, I have friends in NYC who pay about the same or less in rent. Not worth it.
Oh, also the water smells like sewage :(Or rotten eggs. Pray for me, I have a few more months left here, and like 10 grand that I will have to cough up before my lease is done. Help.

I lived here from August 2013 to May 2014.
It was okay in the beginning, when Vanessa worked there and I could direct all my questions towards her for the application/​move-​in process. She was very informative, and most importantly, actually had accurate information.
Another lady that we had to talk to sometimes was nice, but completely unreliable and full of false promises.
Anyways, fast forward to move-​in. There were at least ten small loose nails hidden in the very cheap carpet. My roommate cut her foot on a small piece of broken glass, also hidden in the carpet. There was a strange stench, like something had crawled into one of our air vents and died.
A couple of weeks after move-​in, the pipe under the sink in one of the bathrooms separated from the wall. A mysterious burning rubber smell came from the other bathroom, and disappeared after an hour. The garbage disposal in the kitchen sink broke and nothing would drain.
Fortunately, the maintenance staff was pretty good and prompt. After the first month, the only other maintenance problems we had were clogged sinks.
Okay, so when we were deciding on whether or not to live here, they made a huge deal about how they were getting a new gate system that would supposedly be safer, and they were renovating the gym and movie room. However, none of that crap was ready until late October. Additionally, they still had not set up the resident swipe-​in for the movie room, so we ended up not being able to use it anyway. Boy, were the renovations to the lobby REALLY nice. Too bad the apartments aren’t half as nice. The pool looked pretty nice too, but we didn’t have a chance to go.):
The gates were broken half the time, like someone had simply driven through them (wouldn’t be surprised, they were just the bars that lift up). I came back to the apartment almost every night after midnight because of school, and a lot of the times the security guard was not there and the gates were wide open.
This is probably a result of the transition from moving from the container box temporary buildings to the main office/​lobby, but it took forever to receive packages.
Since the IMT is right across from Reliant, traffic gets pretty awful during football games and the Rodeo. Especially the Rodeo. Don’t try to ride the MetroRail during the Rodeo; there’s only about a thousand other people trying to get on. Oh, and loads of people will try to illegally park in the complex during the Rodeo. Sometimes Reliant also has car racing, and it is so loud!
Most of the rooms in the apartment do not have lighting fixtures, unless a previous owner had installed them. Pretty much only the kitchen and bathrooms had lights that came with the apartment.
This is probably a result of living on the ground floor, but during extreme weather, lizards liked to sneak into our apartment. We had a roach problem, but most of them were tiny and the IMT did do pest control maybe once every three months.
Move-​out was a nightmare. Everyone in the front office gave conflicting information, which was friggin’ frustrating. They also charged us for stuff like carpet «stains» — I’m pretty sure the carpet was in worse condition when we moved in, and we were the ones that cleaned it up… but we were too sick of of them and just paid the fines so we wouldn’t have to deal with them anymore.
I think I would have given this place three stars if the people that worked in the offices weren’t so incompetent.

This apartment with the new management is so expensive, they charge everything and some of office staffs are rude. We went to notice them that we will move out 30 days later as required on the lease. The lady, I think her name is Dori?, She’s really rude and saying” you think move in move out is that easy?” «our company is tired of students who move in move out … and we will charge $ 300 non refundable if …». I mean you are an apartment, there will be people move in and out.
Other than the price and office staffs, everything is good. So if you are NOT a student, or you are RICH, it is a nice place to stay

Whatever you do, STOP DONT REBT HERE!!! Worst rental experience. Maintenance is never on time, the office ladies aren’t really that nice they’re quite sarcastic & it’s extremely unprofessional and rude. The day we moved in we had an apartment filled with roaches and bed bugs. I will never rent with this company EVER. They seem to always make tasks unnecessarily complicated than they need to be which often results in so much valuable time wasted. God I hate living here so much that I’m moving out 3 mo before my lease ends. DO NOT SIGN FOR THIS DIRTY UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE. Currently power is out in 7 apts for the past ht, while it’s 45 degrees outside and my roommate is anemic, in addition to that they told us to wait it out until 7am. No heat, no freezer or fridge. They better reimburse out groceries, it’s the least they can do for THE WORLD’S WORST RENTAL COMPANY.

I moved into IMT at the Medical Center in December 2012 and everything was great at first. The staff was very helpful and the grounds looked great.
Then New Management took over, replacing everyone that was there when I moved in with incompetent people. They are remodeling the leasing office, which has all of the attractive amenities they boast about, so they are unavailable with no end in sight. The laundry machines seem to be older than I am and don’t work half the time. There is perpetually yellow caution tape somewhere on the premises. They use it to block off things that need attention that they can’t be bothered to fix in a timely matter.
I’m currently trying to move out of this place and battling the staff over simple issues. My name is second on the lease, but they can never seem to pull it up when my new apartment complex tries to verify my residency. I’ve told them constantly that I plan on not renewing the lease, but when it came down to a month before, they tried to bill me extra for not letting them know. It’s not my fault that they lost my paperwork in their hideous trailer they work out of now. I’m just trying to leave and be done with them, but can’t seem to do it.
Avoid this place. It once was a great place, but it went downhill quickly with the new management.

I used to live here when it was called Archstone Medical Center. I stayed here for two years and man did it put a dent in my wallet. Rent was very expensive here and that’s not adding electricity, cable/​internet, water, and renter’s insurance (which was mandatory to have). However, the price does reflect on location and you do pay for your area. Everything is close by like the Reliant Stadium right across the street, Kroger which is down the road, a 24 hour gas station which is a block away and a small shopping strip that includes a few restaurants, dry cleaners, liquor store, and post office.
Most tenants in this complex work in the medical center and that is just five minutes down the road. You may think that is a good thing that all your neighbors are in the health field but it’s not. During the long work hours in the medical center that nurses, doctors, and etc. go through it gives crooks and robbers a better opportunity to scope out your home and plan their thievery. Even with security procedures at the front gate, I can recall we had at least two security breaches in the complex.
As far as living situations, the complex is nice. 24 hour fitness center, two outdoor pools (most of the time clean), laundry centers with washer/​dryer, business center with internet and free printing for tenants, and a theatre room with stadium style seating available upon request.
One thing that was a hassle was they had only one garbage disposal area for the whole entire complex. This meant over piling of messy trash bags and days where the compactor would be broken so imagine looking at a landfill and that’s the picture I’m trying to paint.

This is a really good apartment complex. They have decent security that is supposed to be 24 hrs but sometimes the guard isnt always there. But nonetheless safe because on the grounds there are mostly people working in the medical center, and patients. It is probably the most culturally diverse complex I’ve ever seen which I believe is a good thing. It is very quiet and has alot of animal lovers. The rent is a little steep but you are literally 5 minutes walking distance from the light rail. The light rail comes every 6 minutes so alot of people are using it lately. It is really convenient. The maintenance is so-​so. Sometimes you have to call them twice to get them out. There is a nice pool and the gym is good enough. The front office is ALWAYS busy with new applicants so plan ahead for a little wait.
