Lived here for 2 years. Very calm and safe. Perfect location to go anywhere. Close to the reliant stadium! Go Texans!

I honestly love living here! The location is perfect! Very close to the freeway and the neighboorhood is really safe! The only use would probably be the gym which lacks of many supplies and some machines do not work.

So far it seems nice, but this is based on dealing with the leasing office and not actually moving in yet. The buildings are old but seem decently maintained, the washer/​dryer is tiny, but overall the place is good for the price. One of the big pros is the cost and the location. It’s not cheap, but relative to other places I looked at you get less in-​apartment frills for less money without sacrificing the gym/​pool aspect. It’s walking distance to NRG Park and the MetroRail, I’m not sure how useful this is yet, but in theory it should be. I’ll update in 6 – 10 months once I’ve lived there a bit and have a better idea of the situation.

So. Update.
Security for cars has gotten a tad better. The security guy is pretty good to have. The hot tub is no longer functional, or they just don’t turn it on. I did fill out a work request for it and called in and walked in asked about it. The work order was turned back saying completed and the last three times I checked, it was as cold as the rest of the pool. That’s a tad depressing because I’m too tall for the tub, and I like a good hot tub with my wine. Sigh.
I wish they would allow customers to pay online 2 weeks prior to rent being due but they don’t. You can walk in and pay with a check, but last time I did that they took two weeks to cash it. No good. The new office staff is friendly enough so far. No issues there. My neighbor gripe is that half are nice and friendly and the other half seem frightened and that by saying hello what I really mean to do is jump them. But what can ya do? Also, there have been some really cute cats roaming about. Seriously, they are cute. They’re aren’t prison kittens. I feel bad because it has been cold out a but I think they have a home. It would be good if they had collars. Just sayin.
So my review still stands. A conveniently located, low priced, place that offers a lot of room but not so much on the amenities. Great place to live during your drunken rodeo days, enraged med school days, or depressing entry level medical center job days :)
Med job folks, it gets better! You eventually reach less than mid level but not entry level status.

I lived at this apartment complex for a year, and overall, it’s alright. Not great, but pretty good for the rent/​proximity to the medical center (aka work). It all depends on your priorities. I had an apartment on the second floor with the bedroom on the third floor. I can’t speak for the one-​story apartments (all on the first floor), but I would bet all the second floor (two story) apartments had the same problem as mine: temperature control. The upper level has really high vaulted ceilings, where all the heat concentrates, so that it is pressing down on you like you’re a panini sandwich while you sleep. Unless you really blast the not that powerful AC all the time, in which case your bedroom will probably be tolerable, and your downstairs area would be quite chilly. And here’s the quirky part: in the winter, the problem doesn’t resolve. Instead, you turn on your heater to heat up the apartment, and when your living area temp is approaching comfortable, your bedroom again feels live an oven. If you leave the heat down so your bedroom is comfy, the living room is freezing. So, tricky. All that AC use isn’t nice on the electricity bill either. Another problem I experience was bugs, specifically: ants. On three separate occasions I had ants invade the apartment. The first was toward the end of summer, they were trooping in under my front door, into my kitchen, over the counters, and into my sink (I found them when I came home from a 3 day weekend in Austin). It was a Saturday, the office was closed, and this does not qualify as an emergency. I stocked up on ant spray and threw out the food they had invaded. Very annoying. The second instance was in the winter, and this time they came in through my walls (out of the baseboards? still not sure!) The invasion was worse this time, all in the front entryway, into the kitchen, into my cabinets, on the counters on both sides of the kitchen. I took quick action with the spray and left messages with the office (holiday). 12 hours later, I came down ready to head out to work, and they were back. Now coming out from a different spot in the wall and from the inside of the half bath opposite the kitchen. I went spray crazy again. The next day, they were back, showing up in my upstairs bathroom (directly above the downstairs half-​bath). I was really pissed by this point. Office tells me the bug control people are only on the property on Monday (the next day) and they’ll send them out. So the next day the guys comes out and sprays around everything that I’ve already sprayed a million times. The next day, they show up again coming out of the top of the door frame of the half bath. Talk about ants from hell. I sprayed more and called the office, they said they would send out the bug guys again, next Monday. Super helpful, right? Well they stayed quite for the rest of the week, only a couple here and there (I seriously coated every floor/​wall and ceiling/​wall junction with ant raid), and when the (same) guy came out I told him how insane these ants were, and he brought out a couple different heavy duty gels/​powders to use and agreed with me that they might be coming out from behind the electrical sockets (CREEPY), and he powdered/​sprayed all over. He said lots of people get these ants. I don’t know if he meant in general, or in these apartments. Aside from the ant wars, I’ve only seen 2 roaches in 12 months (although they were giant ones), which is probably pretty good for a Houston apartment, though I would prefer 0. Parking is not usually an issue, except possibly at the front of the complex during Rodeo time, when people cheat and park here. Work out facilities are good. Pool looks good, but the «hot tub» was definitely not heated when I checked during the winter. The general materials/​construction feels a little shabby (everyone notices upon entering my apt that the floor tilts a bit to the right side of the apt, carpet had a small stain, the laminate floors are just okay). Another issue, the walls are very thin, when the neighbor babysits I hear every stomp and shriek, and when people are hanging out in the alley area between my apt building and the next, you can literally hear every word they speak, it sounds like they are downstairs when you are in the bedroom. The front gate is often broken/​left open, or the card reader is broken, and people follow you in/​drive in the out gate. There is supposed to be a guard at the gate duck to dawn (one of the reasons I felt ok living in this area), but sometimes there is nobody there for weeks at a time, and sometimes when they’re there, they don’t come out of the hut but just open the gate for everyone; rarely there is a guard who actually stops every car coming in and checks IDs and where they’re going. But did I mention, the rent is nice? I’ve moved on up, but it was an ok place to live if you need to live a little more cheaply. I’d probably give it 2 – 2.5 stars.
