Love, love, LOVE HBPS! I have been using them for a few months and have been so impressed by their care and attention. My dog, Bridger, likes pretty much everyone he meets but he REALLY likes his dog walkers from HBPCS. Scheduling and payment can be done online which is super convenient and you will also receive an email containing your upcoming appointments. I have contacted the owner, Melanie, on several occasions about changes to my schedule. She has been quick to respond and resolve my problems! I have always felt like they truly valued me as a customer, and my pup, too! HIGHLY recommend!

Couldn’t be happier! Our 2 large breed dogs can be challenging to handle so it’s always nerve racking for us to leave them in anyone else’s care. However, Donna goes above and beyond! I can’t say enough about everything that she has done to make them happy and us comforted. Thank you so much to Houston’s Best Pet Sitters and most importantly, thank you to Donna!

I’ve used these guys for the last two years and always arrive home to happy cats. Okay, they aren’t exactly thrilled I left them, but they are way more happy that Houston’s Best Pet Sitters came by twice a day to feed them, clean their pans and play. I know. I know. It’s not the 24 – 7 pets and attention they are used to, but it’s in their own home, they lounge in their usual spots and aren’t dragged off to a boarding facility. I think it’s the BEST way to leave your kitties when you travel. The sitters are amazing, too. They send me text updates with cute photos so I can bore people in far off lands with photos of my cats! It’s a win/​win!

My husband and I have really irregular work schedules and a new baby, so it’s not easy for us to always be home mid-​day to let the dog out or juggle everything. Alex has been a saving grace. She’s taken such good care of Taco (and us!), we’re really grateful that we can depend on her.
She is always really quick to respond to my texts and get us on the week’s schedule and Melanie (HBPS’s owner) helped set up our autopay, so everything sort of takes care of itself. It’s one less thing for me to worry about during the week. Alex also texts pictures of Taco while they’re out, which is a nice touch and a treat to receive mid-​day.
Though we already loved Alex, she went above and beyond one day, when I was having the worst week ever, showing up with a ‘cheer up’ cupcake from a local bakery. Who does that? Alex does that. It was unnecessary and above the call of duty, but it’s things like that that make Houston’s Best Pet Sitters better than the rest.

Melanie, the owner, is very rude, condescending and has a bad attitude. I believe she overcharged me and inquired about my invoice. She immediately became very defensive and very condescending. I had problems with her attitude before but the walker seemed nice that I went ahead and hired them. I should have known. The difference in the invoice was a measly $ 19 that for Melanie to become so nasty over the phone over such a little amount shows how unprofessional she is. She would rather lose a customer over $ 19 than to act professional and work it out. Everything’s great until she makes a mistake and then WATCH OUT. Having used dog walkers in several states for over 14 years, I’d say she was the worst. I’ve always had good luck with dog walkers until her. With so many other dog walkers – why waste your time and money on her? Go somewhere else.

If I could give HBPS 10 stars, I would. I cannot adequately express what good hands your pets are in with everyone here. Melanie is the consummate professional on all fronts from scheduling, to billing, to dealing with an ever changing array of needs and concerns of mine. I always seen to have some sort of special needs pet and she works tirelessly to make sure my guys get what they need, from the sitter best suited to provide it.
Originally Suzanne was our primary sitter and she was wonderful, going above and beyond to take care of one cat in particular that had unusual medical needs, when we were out of town. We were very sad when she moved too far away to work for us any more.
However, her shoes were quickly filled by Lynne who has also been an absolute godsend. She rolls with the punches also, provides ongoing updates to let me know how things are going, and always readily shifts gears when needed, usually on the fly.
These women are truly committed to what they do and I am so grateful to each one of them. I’ve had many pet sitters over the years and HBPS is by far the best. Thank you HBPS for all you do!!!

I was out of town for two weeks and really worried about leaving my cat alone for that period time. Jenny from Houston’s Best Pet Sitters put my mind at ease the minute I met her. She took careful notes during our initial meeting about what she needed to do for my cat, Henry. While I was gone, she sent me three (3!) emails with photos and updates letting me know Henry was doing well.
When I came back, Henry looked happy and healthy and clearly had enjoyed his time with Jenny. I can’t say enough good things about her; I will definitely ask her to look after Henry again if I need to go out of town again.

I used this pet-​sitter once and cannot recommend. Everything was fine in the beginning, and I appreciated the texted photos I got of my cats each day. However, when I got home, I found that the food container seemed emptier than it should, and my cats had gained a little weight. It turns out that the sitter had been feeding twice the amount of food while I was gone, having misread my instructions and feeding twice a day instead of once.
The sitter apologized and said that after the first days when the cats weren’t eating all their food, she cut back, and I do believe she was sincere and that this was likely not a common mistake (which is why 3 stars and not 1). However, when choosing a pet-​sitter, you need to have a lot of trust in the person caring for them, and I just do not feel like I could trust them after making a mistake such as this. however minor.

I was out of town for 11 nights and was really nervous about leaving my kitties since I had never left them for such a long stretch. Terry came over to meet the kitties and discuss their care and sign the paperwork for emergency vet care, etc. They were very well cared for and happy while I was gone. I got emails and pictures during my trip with updates which put me at ease during the trip. I would not hesitate to leave them in Terry’s care again. She treated them with love as if they were her own fur babies.

I truly could not say enough wonderful things about Melanie. She went so far above & beyond what I was hoping for. She spent quality time with our pets, took great care of the house & we came home to 2 happy, healthy animals. Even when we had some unexpected events, she was completely accommodating and helped keep out pets calm. I would recommend to EVERYONE!
