Houston Farm & Ranch Club

I attended the ISA Shrimp Boil at Houston Farm & Ranch Club this week. I would say this is a good venue for outdoor events. They have plenty of parking, a covered arena, bathrooms, a stage and concession stand. What more could you ask for?

Not worthy of any stars. I emailed then went to the location twice about using the grounds leaving my name, number and a very detailed message on my simple request. No one has got back to me. Now I m having problems with finding a different location.

Where can you find the Harris County Fair, The Italian Festival, The Houston Highland Games and the Hot Sauce Festival? It’s all at the Houston Farm and Ranch Club — although not all at once because that much awesome activity cannot possibly be housed in a single location at one time.
We once braved the Hot Sauce Festival and it was pretty interesting. Sadly, my husband can’t read directions any better than I can and he ingested a ridiculous amount of ‘liquid stoopid’. There weren’t enough crackers in the place to stop the burning and we probably funded a school trip to a tropical island with the amount of water bottles we bought to try to quench the fire from the overdose of sauce. I still laugh when I think about it — because I am kind of cruel like that.
This is a convenient location to attend festivals and other events for those on the west side of Houston. I pass this place on a regular basis and seeing it always tells me I’m close to home. It’s usually just a field with some longhorns roaming around but, in an instant, it can be transformed into the site of a great event just down the road from me.
