Wyndham Houston West Energy Corridor

Visited Houston on a short noticed and decided to stay here because it was a block away from topgolf. What a really bad idea it was… The room key was used for the gated parking, which was neat, but the entrance of this place was very odd! Maybe it was the parking lot it self. There were 2 entrances. The main entrance and the side entrance (more like the back of the building entrance) There were very little parking in the front and the back on the buildings but more parking to the left and the right sides of the building. Walking with a bunch of bags to the entrance was a pain in the you know… The lobby was decent but when we got to our floor, it had a really weird funky smell. The rooms were a decent size. The bad thing was you can basically hear a person whisper if they were passing up your room… I’m the type of person who is easily awaken by noise… Good thing the place was booked out that would’ve made it a lot worse.
Reason why I am giving 2 stars is because its literally a block away from topgolf and the room key that was also used for the gated parking. Other than that, go further down the street to the Marriott. Definitely 10x better!

So… cross country motorcycle ride from Oakland CA with a turnaround in Key West FL. Traveling with my fathers ashes, my trip is interrupted by a young woman in Houston who — I am sure is a lovely gal but very inattentive as she runs a red light and ruins a 30 day journey of love. I had also planned on visiting my mother whos been in a care facitity
Unfortunately she passed 2 days after the accident. All I can say is that from the Operations manager Tony… his staff Jimmy, James and a host of others who’s names I have written down but dont have access to at the moment have made a VERY difficult few days tolerable with exemplary service, care and sincerity.
It’s reassuring in times like this that someone’s got your back.

I booked this room after spending a couple of nights at the Omni Houston. This room is the complete opposite from the Omni I tell you that! The sheets on the beds were filthy with food spots on them, numerous of them. It looked like someone had did a oil change on a car and leaned against the wall in the room, there was barely any tissue on the roll when we checked in, no batteries in the remote for the tv had to call the maintenance team. SMH is all I can say. The design and interior is very modern and cute, but if you want a comfortable night’s rest avoid this place! They had to change our rooms in the middle of the night and assist us with moving our luggage with my 69 year old granddad. Oh and after he called the front desk after we pulled back the sheets and saw how nasty they were, we discovered there entire housekeeping department decided to do what they wanted and all left before there scheduled time to get off so they sent a front desk agent up to change our sheets lol

I stayed at this hotel for my Birthday about two years ago so when I found out I was coming back to Houston I knew where I wanted to stay. Boy was I WRONG! I called all day trying to get a pre authorization on my credit card taken care of. I was told to email my credit card information several times and even asked to take a picture and send it from my phone. The manager never called me back to tell me the issue had been corrected and never even apologized for the situation. The next morning I talked to another manager and he offered me a free breakfast buffet for my hardship. He gave me this at 10:17. Breakfast is over at 10:30. The restaurant staff was rude and unhelpful. I had to track down a waiter just to get a glass of water. When I walked in a customer and the same waiter were going back and forth in reference to the waiters «approach». Needless to say I will never stay at this hotel again.

I’ve been here for the last week for NACE training (NACE suggested the hotel), and I will not stay here again. The first room they put me in didn’t have a fridge or microwave, which wouldn’t bother me if I was only here for a night. I requested to switch and they moved me to the executive floor, which it turns out is where I was supposed to be in the first place. My new room has a fridge and microwave, but both are old and dingy. The fridge doesn’t even close all the way and leaks cold air. My new room also has two full beds instead of the king I requested. Whatever, didn’t feel like switching again.
The room is nice enough, but it’s clearly only surface-​level clean. If you look close, you see lots of stains: on the bedding, the floors, the walls, the towels, etc. The towels smell like mildew and are stiff and scratchy. The doors and furniture are all chipped, scratched, and scraped. They obviously don’t clean under the beds. There was hair on the toilet and in the shower. The desk chair is a horrible, uncomfortable plastic piece of crap. The only garbage in the room is in the bathroom.
To sum it up, I’ll be happy to leave here tomorrow. This hotel just gives me an overall «icky» feeling.

The staff was very friendly. Especially Gregory. He saw to my every need. Best service ever from him. No refrigerator, which even the cheapest hotels have so that’s ridiculous. My entire floor smelled like marijuana but my room didn’t so I didn’t mind. Everything seemed pretty new and clean to me. Comfortable beds, AC works great, big TV, close to restaurant/​bar and gas station. $ 60 deal on Hotels Tonight so not a bad experience.

We checked in– went to our room– and are changing hotels. Not clean. Hotel has an overall nasty feeling. Would not recommend.

Came down from Fort Worth, saw room on web cheap and supposedly «4» star. That’s definitely false advertisement this hotel is disgusting found bed bugs DO NOT STAY HERE for your own health concerns! That’s why it’s so cheap, get what you pay for.

Oh.My.God. The price is way over-​blown! 3 days @ $ 750? No valet, not even a cart to bring my luggage in-​I had to drag/​carry it ALL to my hotel room on my own. My «super expensive room» has a window into the LOBBY. I wish I’d stayed DT! My first ME time — post baby (10 month old) and I end up here?! I’m crushed

Booked through Expedia and it looked nice. The rooms weren’t very clean and there was some repair needed in the bathroom.
Not really worth going on about. I’ve just had better experiences at better prices.

had bedbugs in room 512, when I said in the reception pretended surprise. Never again this hotel chain.

Horrible. Walls are thin so you can hear everything in the rooms around you. I could hear lots of conversations and rap music. The clientele is like something you see in a cheap motel, not a 3 star hotel. They have heavy security measures in the parking lot because of the types of customers they get.
They give away their rooms for cheap, so expect the worst. This is a problem in hotels all over Houston. The staff is average. It looks like they’re all about cheap labor like all the other hotel chains, so expect the worst there.

Best experience ever. I didn’t stay here, but I was coordinating a wedding reception that was hosted in one of their ballrooms. Their staff is incredibly helpful, readily available, accommodating, and very experienced professionals! All day as we were setting up the event, I had multiple people offer to help me and follow up on me. When seating arrangements were unexpectedly changed, the event coordinator, Chris, was so accommodating. When the cake got injured by the box it was delivered it, she performed cake surgery. Everything was set up on time and beautiful. They had the schedules we had printed out with them on hand and checked in on us frequently so they could anticipate our needs. Could not have asked for a more stress-​free event and would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to host a wedding reception here! I also saw a suite that the bridesmaids were getting ready in — it was very spacious, clean, and sunny — as well as a room downstairs the groomsmen were camped out in — this room was more of a meeting room so it didn’t have a full bath, also the AC was broken but some staff came to fix it pretty quickly. The lobby is pretty with lots of floral arrangements and seating areas. The ballroom was fairly standard with a small wooden dance floor and enough table space to seat 150 – 200 guests.
That being said, the only thing I didn’t enjoy about the place was the chlorine pool smell in the lobby… you get used to it, but it’s kind of a bummer that that’s the first thing you notice about this venue when you walk in.

Do not stay here they are infested with bugs. My wife and I were bitten like crazy. Bleeding bites. Do not come here ever. I will report them to state department of public health to ensure no one else goes through this.

My best friend had her wedding here and it was PERFECT! There are no words to describe how professional, courteous, and helpful the staff was. The wedding coordinator, Kellyann, was phenomenal. My best friend ranted and raved about how wonderful and helpful she was. She went above and beyond to make sure the bride and groom had the perfect wedding reception. The food was GREAT, the space was beautiful, the staff was helpful. It doesn’t get any better than this hotel.
The rooms were beautiful. They were clean, comfortable, the beds and pillows were out of this world.
Everything in this hotel was pleasant, easy, and happy. Seriously. If you’re ever in Houston for any reason. Stay here. It was great.

It was ok. The website states pet friendly, and I expect to pay for my dog to stay, but the cost was $ 75 plus tax!

This place used to be a Crowne Plaza. Wyndham bought it and renovated it. Instead of Crowne’s trademark red, Wyndham added blue ambience everywhere it could.
The real story here is the hotel’s accommodations. For a hotel that faces the highway, we were hardly disturbed at all by road noise. Of course, we were also assigned 10^th floor. All windows are double-​paned to block out noise. A blackout curtain further helps.
Given that this is such a big hotel located next to many energy company offices, it is surprisingly empty. It also doesn’t have a single snack vending machine. However, the night staff was kind enough to open up its café to let my wife buy some snacks and charge it to our room.
Parking here is free, too. There’s a nice restaurant attached to the hotel and a separate bar. Overall, this would be our ideal place to stay each time we come back to Houston.

Hotel was overbooked. Called and requested an extra blanket and cancelled the request after waiting an hour. Breakfast buffet was disgusting.
There was a tornado warning at 5am. Asked the front desk to change the TV in lobby to local news and they said no. Told us to go back up to the 8^th floor and they would let us know if a tornado was near. SMH!

They’ve done a nice job refurbishing this place, and the room I had was very nice. The breakfast was also very good, although pricey. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful.
The biggest downside is the housekeeping, which seems somewhat shoddy, and they never replaced the shampoo.
The wifi is terrible – I even tried purchasing the highest level (which was still only 5 MBS), and it too was awful.

Dude, this place is just the best. Here is why:
1) On August 26^th, my parents’ house caught on fire.
2) The salesman, Gary, was just so understanding of our situation and gave us a special rate and allowed us extra amenities for free. Just so accommodating.
3) Tony, the Operations Manager, was very helpful everyday. His entire staff, Greg, Holly, and others (whose names are escaping me) were just wonderful.
4) The housekeeping staff was a bit forgetful at times, but it’s easily forgiven, because I was always able to speak with the front desk and get it taken care of.
5) Security staff took our concerns very seriously.
6) The Breakfast staff at their restaurant knew we were regulars and always made us feel special.
7) The parking situation is just great! Always secure and convenient.
8) The ambiance is so elegant and professional. An amazing place for a business meeting, unless there are kids in the pool. That tends to get loud pretty quickly, but what can you do? They are kids.
9) The bar is a great back up meeting place.
