Growler’s Beer and Wine To Go

Was enjoyable once upon a time. The beer selection can be found just about anywhere now. Most of the employees behind the counter are too worried about surfing the internet, (this is pretty much all of the time). Some of the bottle selection is dated. I don’t need a specific type of gas-​filled growler fill that will help keep my beer fresh for several days (until the top is popped). I am going to drink my beer usually sometimes within the next 24 – 36 hrs. Parking is bad. And the place is more expensive than competitors.

Everyone is always so nice here. Unfortunately, it is pretty expensive. I usually just go to whole foods for the same beer but cheaper.

I have been here numerous times over the past year or so. This is a great place to go to fill a growler. Their beer selection is pretty good and you can check on their app to see what they currently have on tap.
This place doesn’t have an awesome atmosphere unfortunately. The building is a bit old and the one working bathroom isn’t the most inviting to use. But I love that you can bring your dog inside and outside! They even have dog treats. My husband likes to come and bring his computer to work while he tries a new beer.
I have also been to an IPA tasting class here which was really fun. They had a rep from Stone come and teach/​give out the samples.
If you like craft beer, you should definitely check this place out!

Okay selection of beers but poor service. The server was not attentive and did not charge correctly.

Went to go have a beer and buy a gift card for a friend today. There is no bar to sit at so obviously having one was out of the question. The guy working was in the back and me being there was a huge inconvenience to him.
I bought a gift card and wanted to buy a few liters. I knew I wanted the pumpkin latte from buffalo bayou but was asking for any other suggestions. He just pretended not to hear me. He did t want to help at all.
If you want to go and have a nice time sampling beers go right down the road to The Hay Merchant. This place had no atmosphere at all !

First time here and I came during the middle of the day. They allowed me to try a number of different beers and decided to fill my growler for less than $ 15. For the deliciousness of beer that’s a good price! They’ve been open for three years and I hope that the growler movement increases in popularity here in Houston. I really enjoyed their huge selection and I’m pretty excited to go back and get another refill in the near future.

What a great place! Wide selection of beer to fill up growlers. Love that you can bring your own and you aren’t forced to buy there’s. Additional bonus you can get pints and samples so you aren’t stuck with something you hate. They have 1 coolers filled with liquid goodies! A must try for any beer geek!

Oh man. What a hidden jewel. A gem hidden in plain sight. I saw it and looked it up on Unilocal and the reviews did not disappoint. I decided to stop by and check it out. I didn’t catch the girl’s name but she was definitely helpful during my first visit. Such a cool concept. Buy a growler, it’s yours to keep. Fill up. Enjoy. Simple. All the prices for all the beer in all the sizes are right in front of you so you don’t experience any hidden fees. I decided to get a 64 oz growler of 8^th Wonder Rocket Fuel to take to Fort Worth for the weekend. $ 29 total.

Best growler fill store in town for several reasons: good rotating selection, they fill any growler (none of this deposit business), and their funky taps keeps the beer tasting fresher for longer. They also have a lot of coupons on their app and their staff is really knowledgable and friendly

Very cool. The menu rotates often, and you can see a live shot of the menu on your phone if you download the app (you should do this by the way because they are constantly sending discounts). Various growler sizes for purchase in store, or bring in your own to have filled. They have great choices, and are eager to help you learn about the beer. Ready with samples of anything on tap, and if you feel like sitting for a minute there is a pair of bar tables for you to plant yourself on and have a glass or even a beer flight. They also have a selection of wine and bottled beer. Focusing on craft and small brewery selections, there is something for every palate.
While there we were told that they are preparing to add a small patio with seating just outside the door. This should make the place a perfect spot on a warm afternoon.

This is my favorite place in Houston to fill up my Growler. New to the scene and don’t know what growlers are?
Growler’s are big jugs where you go to specialty shops like this place to get craft beers at lower prices. I come here because it has a good selection of beers and if you don’t know what you want the people will be glad to help you out and let you sample the beers you are interested in.
This place also has an app that updates what beers are on their taps as well as a customer loyalty program (if you go there many times you get one free). I definitely recommend their selection and their employees are very helpful.

Found this place through Unilocal,while visiting Houston. The reviews definitely didn’t let me down. One thing I’ve become accustomed to when visiting a growler station is having a good variety of taps available and knowledgeable staff. This place has both. Also there’s about 3 cools full of all sorts of bottled beer and some specialty bottles around the counter. The guy working the counter was super knowledgeable about the beer on tap and made recommendations based on what I did and did not like. Prices were real growler prices and not based on how many pints fill a growler. Samples were very helpful as well.
One thing I really liked were the 2 liter plastic growlers for $ 1. They’re not reusable but are great if you forgot a growler or in the case of my buddy, are from out of town and have no need for more growlers.
Big screens were showing the games too, but didn’t give off that sports bar type of feel.
The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I like growler stations to have more area to drink in house.

Awesome selection and a great place to get beers than you usually can’t get outside of a bar. Friendly folks, and then even have an iphone app so you can see what’s on tap before you visit.
Quick note: growlers can save you money on beers you can only get in bars/​restaurants, but the price per oz for more common beers you can buy in 6 packs is usually higher when in a growler (e.g. 64oz growler of fat tire is $ 11.40, or ~$ 0.18/oz, vs $ 9 for a 6 pack of 12oz bottles: $ 9/​72oz ~$ 0.13/oz)

I live in Katy so my only gripe is when you coming to my side of town!!!

Any place that is dog-​friendly — inside as well as out — enough to keep a canister of canine cookie goodness on the checkout counter is MY kinda place… kudos, Growlers!
Everything else kicks ass as well — decent+ selection of mostly-​local brews with which to fill your growlers on the cheap, a counterpressure/​purging fill system so said growlers have extended life & freshness, and draught kombucha… love it!

This is a great little place to get a growler filled. The counter-​pressure filling system they use keeps your growlers fresher much longer than other places who use conventional filling methods. It takes a bit longer to fill, but it’s worth it.
There’s also a great selection of bottled beers. I’ve noticed the prices seem to be a bit higher than other places on these, but they have such rare offerings we’ve not found in other places.

When that song was written in 1836 it must have been scribed by a prophet who knew the jug totin’ nation who would need stores that specialize in our boozin’ needs.
My first run in with a Growler’s product was for my birthday in March. We were doing a BYOB restaurant and my guy knowing I’m partial to the amazing elixir that is craft beer, picked up 2 64 oz growlers of 8^th wonder for me. The beer was amazing! Since, I’ve had the pleasure of trying a 120 oz of No Label 1^st Street and tried a 64 oz last night of Brooklyn Blast. Not looking for a growler? They have a beer case with a nifty selection of not-​usually-​sold-​in-​stores beer. I picked up a Delirium Nocturnum last night to go with my B.B. because there is something about that ceramic bottle that appeals to me. The tap is a slow drip so be patient while you wait. It will be worth it.
The staff was helpful and we chatted just a bit about the different beers they have on tap, though the board in front of you is pretty detailed and comprehensive.
The growlers that you buy, at a very affordable cost I might add, are reusable but need to be washed prior to bringing them in. They do have that super cool water flushing system but it’s not a sanitation station so unless you want to get sick– wash it good, wash it real good.
Would you like to pull an ultimate lush move? Buy a purse like koozie for your growler. They make them to fit the biggins but they also have a double trouble one for your 32 oz’ers. This must be for the women because we do love accessories.
Growler’s you’ve done a damn good job of supplying me craft brew when I need it most.

Stopped in today to get my growler filled. I have a thermos growler, and they informed me that the usually do not fill those because they cannot see into them to tell when it is full. They filled mine anyways, they just warned me that it might not be perfect. It was perfect.
Excellent selection of beers. When I went to the website I saw 17 different beers, but when I got there I realized there were over 30 different beers. This is because the website has multiple pages. They allowed me to sample a few so I could decide on exactly what I wanted.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The prices were reasonable. There is a 10% discount for checking in on Unilocal which I thought was pretty cool. I will definitely be back.

If you love beer, you MUST visit this place. I give this place 5 stars for numerous reasons including their beer selection, service, and prices. Lets walk through why this is my go-​to spot for filling up a to-​go brewski.
— Growlers — In the name and the reason why people come here. You get to fill a gigantic container full of a delicious craft beer and take it home. They come in different sizes, but I suggest the 32oz or the gallon because of how well the prices scale. Not to mention they are dirt cheap to buy and you only need to buy it once (everyone should have a growler)
— Selection — they have an amazing selection of craft beers, mainly from Texas. They regularly rotate beers that are not only in season, but also from new breweries that pop up and make great brews. I really like that aspect because it makes for a great experience every time I go to sample some new beers en route to filling my growler. If you are interested in bottled beer they have a whole wall on the left dedicated to beer from all over the place.
— Customer Service — These guys love beer. Plain and simple. Not only do they know their stuff on every brew that comes in, they are the friendliest people you will ever come across. I have no trouble breaking a casual conversation and asking for their recommendations on which beer would suit me, and they don’t mind if you want to sample multiple beers to pick one that suits you.
— Price — You are getting local craft beer, many of them from newer breweries that are up and coming. The prices they have are phenomenal at every level, with the more you buy the better it gets. I’ll leave it at that.
It is good to note that they are also hosting events with beer and wine tastings. Just today St. Arnolds (my personal favorite) had a table in the store introducing their new line of brews for the season with a tasting. They have similar events planned over the next few months and it’s going to be great.
I will always be a customer here and so should anyone in Houston who loves beer!
