Rob. Is. The. Best. I never do Unilocal reviews, but he made my wedding so magical, I can’t not write a review. Rob was a delight to work with, and weeks after my wedding, people who I haven’t heard from in ages have reached out to me to let me know how beautiful the wedding was. And that is thanks to Rob! His design is and was STUNNING. He listened to what I wanted both my reception and my ceremony to look like and to feel like… and it was better than I ever could have imagined.
I could write an essay about an essay about what an amazing job Rob did: his execution, his talent, his style, his… did I say talent already?
As one of the previous reviews mentioned, he was respectful of my budget, which given the size of our event space (football field-​sized warehouse) was no easy task! Plus, he was absolute joy to work with.
Rob truly made my dreams come true on my wedding day. What more could you ask for? I cannot recommend him enough.

Rob & his team are incredibly unprofessional, have poor customer service & do not provide what you ask for. I met Rob a few months prior to our wedding & chose him based on his previous work & showroom. That was my first & last meeting & conversation with him. Rob had agreed to work with my cousin who has a great deal of experience in decorating, this way I can focus on other aspects of the wedding. Communication was extremely poor! He spoke with our wedding planner to work out details, never my cousin or myself. Even towards the end when we were clearly unhappy, No phone call or email AT ALL to apologize.
We NEVER got mock ups of anything. We had a very simple idea for our wedding ceremony & gave him a picture. In the end he ruined the décor for the ceremony. I specifically said not to use ribbon which he did (he suggested it on our initial meeting) used an over abundance of cheap green foliage instead of the white flowers we asked for (and were in the picture) it was obvious he had zero input in the wedding décor. It looked like someone else on his team was given the job & had no idea of the specifics we asked for. We gave him a picture of what we wanted our halo above the ceremony to look like & it looked NOTHING like what we asked for. He also decided that in the 10,000 square foot ballroom he was going to use the area directly behind our ceremony area to store furniture! Yes, he used sheer draping to cover it but it was obvious to everyone there was furniture back there! I’ve never been to a wedding where the decorator actually used the unused space where the ceremony was taking place to store furniture! When you are spending this kind of money & see that Rob is capable of executing beautiful décor you wouldn’t think that someone could do such a horrible job. We were honestly shocked & how bad the wedding décor was, unfortunately so was my family .
The reception décor was nothing like the wedding & actually looked beautiful. But it was NOT exactly what we wanted. Again if we had gotten a mock up (which I had asked for) we could have avoided some of these issues.
We spent thousands of dollars, over $ 35,000 on just décor & we were not asking for anything over the top. I still look @ my wedding pictures & cringe & the tacky orange carnations, cheap green foliage & the multitude of errors. If you can’t provide what the customer wants then speak up! Don’t substitute & not mention anything.
Again, it’s not worth the risk choosing Rob. You may get lucky & actually get his undivided attention & he may do a good job. Or he will take your business & have his team do the work without any creativity, finesse, or attention to detail.

I got a call from Rob, owner of Events n Bloom about a negative rating I left for him, here on Unilocal,which has some how been deleted. Hmmm. I happened to be over seas, when I took the call. I could not talk then, but told him I would follow up with him, upon my return to Houston. In the meantime he called my daughter, the bride, and asked her if she would talk to me and ask me to please remove my Unilocal review as he depends on good reviews for his business. Say, Whaaaat? His lack of professionalism surprises me even 4 months later. Rob, if you call again, be prepared to take a lesson in salesmanship 101.

I had a wonderful experience working with Rob to plan the flowers for my wedding. I was pretty indecisive at times, and he was very accommodating and patient to make sure that we planned everything exactly how I wanted it. All of my wedding guests were in love with the flowers, and now I always recommend Events in Bloom to newly engaged friends without a hesitation.

First of all, I think the positive reviews on here must be either bribed people or friends of the company because… no. I’ve been meaning to do a review for my October 2013 wedding but I’m just now getting to it.
Events in Bloom was actually friendly to us on consultation, though the florist did talk down on me a little bit on what I had in mind (he actually said «well its a wedding not prom» when I said I wanted chair sashes. I admit they aren’t necessary but they aren’t completely tacky and you don’t have to be rude to a customer about it). My sister finally convinced me to go with them over the other florist I’d seen due to the candle walls. The florist wanted me to do A LOT OF STUFF but I ended up cutting it all down to simply 8 centerpieces, candle walls for the ceremony, and the bridal and bridesmaid bouquets and flower girl petals.
So we put down our deposit. Then the hell began. WE COULD NEVER GET AHOLD OF THEM. We would call and leave messages and never get responses. Even when we were calling because we wanted to MAKE A PAYMENT, we could not get ahold of them. And when it came to making payments FINALLY, Denica kept saying she could not email receipts. She was literally an idiot. She said she could only fax them. This is 2014, I do not own a personal fax machine. My husband finally had to walk her through how to use her scanner and e-​mail him the receipt.
It was a terror to get ahold of them to do a bridal bouquet for bridal portraits, which I had to pay extra for. It looked horrible. It wasn’t even rounded. It was pathetic.
The day of the wedding they showed and set up stuff without checking in with anyone in the wedding party. Our hotel has an event manager so she said she saw them but she did not know what all they should have dropped off.
#1. The toss bouquet they brought me was supposed to be a small, less extravagant version of my bridal bouquet (which was white). Instead I just had one too many bridesmaid bouquets to work with, which we were left to assume was supposed to be my toss bouquet.
#2. They didn’t bring the flower petals for the flower girls! At all!!! Only when I realized when lining up for pictures with my two flower girls did we all notice, so the florists were long gone! A bridesmaid and groomsmen had to run to the hotel event manager and they all three brilliantly grabbed a rose from a few of the table centerpieces and ripped them up for the flower girls to use. This was still unnecessary stress on everyone on my wedding day. Not to mention that the flower girl petals were supposed to be WHITE and we ended up using red roses as the flower petals so it wasn’t what I had paid for.
After our honeymoon (a week later) we tried calling several times and got no answer and never received a call back. I didn’t want money back because I know the flower petals weren’t expensive and the toss bouquet wasn’t a HUGE deal but it would have been nice to at least have an apology.
Events in Bloom is completely unprofessional. I would not recommend them to anyone. I even reported to our hotel our experience and they said they would be passing it on to future clients and removing them from their recommended list of vendors.

Wow! Rob Smith and the entire Events In Bloom team are fantastic! Rob’s combination of talent, style, and taste helped create a unique and beautiful look for our wedding and reception. Rob was respectful of our budget, patient with me and my family, and best of all– fun to work with.
I am a very visual person and had trouble imagining how everything would look in the event space. Every time we met with Rob he had mock ups and examples of different options ready for me to see. When we began planning I only had a few ideas of what I liked and he turned them into something I couldn’t have imagined!
I really could not have asked for a better experience.

Events in Bloom is truly the best! They go above and beyond to make everything perfect. They are organized and very dependable. Rob made my daughter’s wedding/​reception so elegant and beautiful more than we could have ever imagined. Everything was absolutely stunning! The quality of the flowers were so vibrant and glamorous beyond breathtaking! Just astonishing!!! Rob puts his heart and soul into every flower arrangement. He has a gift for creativity! We are honored that he shared that special gift with us. I cried when I saw the ballroom at Hotel Zaza… I was speechless … It blew me away. Everything was perfect! Rob set the atmosphere for a beautiful and impressive wedding and reception. Very professional operation! I can not thank Rob and his team at Events in Bloom enough for all the hard work these guys put into my daughter’s wedding! They are such an awesome team to work with. Just amazing! All our guest commented on how lovely everything looked. If it wasn’t for Rob’s attention to detail Lacie’s wedding wouldn’t have been what it was without Rob! It was a truly memorable experience he had given us. The wedding was a fantasy turned into a reality! Thanks a million Rob… You are just the BEST!

As a bride to be — I have been meeting up with several florists who were prompt, professional and respectful. Unfortunately Rob wasn’t one of them. After confirming my appointment with his secretary Dora 3 weeks prior to our visit to Houston, and as per her words «Rob will do this appointment to accommodate your special request» as we only come to Houston on the weekends and that’s when we meet vendors for our summer 2012 wedding.
After driving from Dallas, excited to our first florist appointment with Events in Bloom on Oct 29^th … NO ONE was there — Rob didn’t even have the courtesy to apologize By email or phone that he will not show up to his FIRST consultation appointment with new clients. WHAT a disastrous service. I have heard how bad his communication skills are not up to standards but never would imagine that a man with his success will treat his future clients in such an ignorant manner.
To top it all, a week later I met Rob at the Corinthian Tea & tour where he was selling his one of a kind designs, and when I told him that he missed my appointment he said «Saturdays are hard» !!!
As a client, person, business woman and a human being: I wouldn’t accept such service — if Saturday’s are hard then why would you confirm an appointment for consultation.
