Discount Tire Store – Houston, TX

These guys were great. They patched my tire for free! They did try to scare me into buying new tires which I luckily knew I did not need. But they were pretty efficient and were kind!

Marvin was very nice and informative. He Showed me visually how my tires were on the chart. And answered all my questions.

Because of the location, their is a lots of traffic. Honda dealership is right new door and 6 – 10 loop is right in front of the building. If you are in a hurry I would not recommend.

Very rude employees! Not worth putting up with when I can just go to the many other branches right here close.
My husband is handicap and I tried to pull my car close the the front door so he could walk out. Employee refused to let me wait. And he was so rude about it! Forget this place!

My family and I are long time patrons of Discount Tire but after moving to Houston I have realized that not all Discount stores are created the same that in order to get quality care I will need to take my business elsewhere.
First, the lines at this location are always long and even when one has an appointment you are forced to wait for 30+ minutes before your car is even pulled in.
Second, on I always seem to have a problem with the quality of work at this location. Parts have been lost, entire tires have been lost, sensors were negligently not put back on, I have been charged for services I didn’t receive, and much more.
All in all every experience I have had at this Discount Tire has been a frustrating and disappointing one.

They saved me some time by looking at my tire and doing a quick fix in the parking lot. I didn’t have to wait and I appreciate that.

I had bought my tires from these guys about 1 year ago. The other day I noticed my front tires were losing pressure, and I noticed a nail. I made an appointment online for the next day.
I arrived 15 min early, which you should do because there is always a queue of around 4 to 5 people. I talked with Alex about 10 min later. They patched the tires, rotated, and balanced them for free because my tires were still under warranty. My total time in store was about 40 minutes.
I highly recommend this store!

I had an awesome experience. I went out of town for a few days and I left my car with a signal that tire pressure was low. Once I return back to Houston, I hopped in the car for work and I noticed the tire was completely flat. I called my road side and had my spare put on. I called discount tire go see if I needed an appointment. They said no but the wait was about 30 minutes. I came in and they saw me right away. The discovered a nail in my tire within five minutes of me walking in. Ulysses was the guy who helped me. He was super sweet. I went on to work and I can’t back to get my plugged tire! Pablo was excellent — very friendly, personable, and understanding. I had to come in right before the 6pm closing time due to work, and was leaving for a month long international trip for work so I had a major time crunch. He gave me options without any pressure /​hard sell attitudes. Very impressed — first time here but def won’t be the last.

I like these guys. They are fast and efficient. Prices are okay too. In this area this is your best choice for tires. Store is clean and they are well organized. Customer service is good. Thumbs up!

I have been a repeat customer at this location for years. When I had a nail in my tire, I brought my car to this location to take it out and a rotation thinking all was good. It was not. After waiting for about an hour, I checked my tires. The nail was still in the tire and they did not even rotate the tires. I understand it was a free service and it was almost closing time, but not even doing the work was sloppy. The manager apologized and got his people to finally do it. I never been back to this location because there is a better one down the street on Stella Link and 610.

Very professional. Didn’t feel pressured. Quick service. Pablo was the representative helping me and he was courteous, professional and answered all my question. Would come back again.

Good service but the waiting time is too long. The process should be quicker. Too many paperwork just to fix a simple tire!!!

Friendly, respectful staff, and reasonably quick service. I brought in a loose wheel that needed a tire patched and it was handled quickly and free of charge.

I first came to this location of discount tires a few months ago, and I returned again today. I have bought 3 tires so far from them, and next time I need one I’ll be coming back here (knock on wood that it won’t be anytime soon)!
I hate dropping a lot of money into my POS car, but the guys at this Discount Tires actually really seem to CARE about their customers, and I left with a much better attitude than when I went in. Both times I have been, I was greeted by someone with the promise that someone would be right with me.
The guys who have come out to check my tires in the parking lot have been very thorough, letting me ask questions and explaining to me exactly why my tire had exploded on I45, etc. Today the man who helped me suggested I replace 2 tires because they were both unsafe to drive on, based on logical criteria. I told him I couldn’t afford two tires, so he gave me one at half price because he said he wanted me to be safe… And it seemed like he honestly meant it.
The only downside so far is that they are so busy and I’ve had very long waits. To me, it was worth it. I prefer to take my business to people who don’t try to rip me off because I am a young woman!
Plus, they offer you a cold bottle of water while you wait! Score!

Everyone dreads having the expense of new tires. I ended up having to purchase two. Vlad was great, because he played around with the numbers to see what would be my best option in terms of spending.
It’s unfortunate I have to spend my lunch break here, but Discount made sure it was short and sweet. Thanks gents. Happy Friday.

Great customer service at this location.
I needed 4 new tires for my Tahoe and wanted to go with a slightly over sized tire. They didn’t have the brand /​size of the tires that I wanted in stock but they were able to test fit the larger size to make sure it would fit without issues. Only took about 20 minuets, the larger size was good to go so I placed an order for the tires and was told that they should be in about 2 — 3 business days.
A couple of days later I received a call letting me know that my tires came in. The salesman was very accommodating and was able to schedule an appointment during my lunch break.
I arrived at the appointed time and I was in and out the door in about 30 min. I am very pleased with the service I received as well as my new tires (Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo2). Great service like this is why I will continue to purchase all of my tires from Discount Tire.

As I believe I’ve stated in another Discount Tire review, I’m a big fan of this chain overall, and I’ve been patronizing them for years. My dad taught me with my very first car (an old hand me down) that this chain was the way to go for buying tires. Why? It’s national, so you can get help at any location. And they offer a great warranty on their tires. And I mean brand new tires – no retreads sold here!
**I don’t know why this place wasn’t added to Unilocal sooner, it’s been here for at least a year…
Anyway, I bought some shiny new tires last November, and I recently took them to another Discount Tire location two weeks ago. As it turns out, I should’ve stuck with this location, because it seems the technicians at the Stella Link location missed something I specifically asked them to look for. But I digress. I like this location, it’s about five minutes from my apartment, and the employees are incredibly nice and helpful. When I replaced my tires last year, I was replacing the factory tires that came with my car when I initially bought it. It was around 5:45 when I got my car here, and although they we’re shutting down the tech who helped me squeezed me in so I didn’t have to wait overnight and make another trip to get my tires replaced.
This time, something went wrong with one of the tires, and they’ve been great about getting my car in. I’m still waiting as I type this (only about 25 minutes now), but they’ve been getting customers in and out of here at a good rate.
