Cookie Cup Commotion

I went to an event awhile back where the hostess were serving these adorable cookie cups. They were so good I ended up eating about a half dozen of them on my own. Recently I wanted to give a «thank you» gift for my doctor and his staff, and these were the first things that popped in mind. They’re small enough that you don’t feel you’re being a glutton if you have a few but big enough that each cookie cup packs a punch of yumminess. Plus they don’t leave a bunch of crumbs behind so even better (if they did, you’d want to eat those too because they’re that good)! At my next doctor’s visit, everyone was telling me how much they loved them. Trust me when I say you want to keep the gals in the office happy especially when it comes time to schedule the next appointment.
As for ordering, the process was so easy. Mina, the owner, was great at explaining what goes in each order. She was willing to work with me in doing split orders so there would be a variety of favors in each batch. She even told me they do gluten-​free cookie cups as well. When it came time for delivery, she was prompt and very polite. A great product, great service, what more could you ask for?

I’m totally fascinated with people who jump headfirst into the wacky world of food service, especially when they already have a normal career that makes their parents proud. I’m not talking about joining Cargill or some corporate restaurant chain with 700 locations and benefits, I’m talking about otherwise stable people who take the plunge opening their own restaurant or trailer or storefront with food or some twist on it they really believe in, because the odds against them sure are stacked. Maybe what I find really remarkable here is I don’t know that many people motivated by passion, and not just ego.
Which brings us to Mina and her Cookie Cup Commotion — just your typical Houston attorney making a wonderful dessert/​treat/​pastry item who wants you to enjoy it too. Two dozen will cost you $ 32, there’s a variety including GF ones, and I pretty much think the chocolate chip cup with peanut butter hazelnut rules. Okay, I’m kind of enamored of the mint chocolate one too, but that might be a March-​only exclusive.
Currently, you can either call-​in or text your order, and the entire marketing staff appears to be the Firm of FaceBook & Instagram. I just happen to play a lot here on Unilocal.It’s also handy to have friends willing to bring a batch up to you, especially when you live in Austin. Hey, I always take my Houston peeps to dinner when they’re in town, I’m just asking them to bring in a little extra dessert for us. It’s a good thing. Totally win-​win. And for some really good stuff.
