Best pork chops I’ve ever had. The jalapeño Mac n cheese is awesome too. Ate here two nights in a row and ordered the same thing both nights! Service is pretty good too!

I am sorry to say that I did not want to give this place
a chance. One of my favorite places was Cattleguard.
They were gone one day and the next day Christian’s
was there. So, I was thinking that there was no way
that there could be a better place in the same space.
How wrong was I? Very!
Went for a work related meeting/​Christmas party.
I have always loved how rustic the place was and that
has not really changed. The atmosphere is casual and
not too different from the previous establishment. Very
comfortable surroundings.
There were about twenty of us there but the food still
came out pretty quick and was very good. The selection
of beers was nice as well.
I can see going back there again.
Nice place.

So this place is growing on me. Nice selections of craft beer. Interesting shot and cocktail selection. Plenty of TVs. Nice sound system. Specials they run is probably the highlight. Example the 50 cent wings and oysters. I’ve seen $ 2 craft beer selections that come and go. $ 6 32oz miller or coors on Friday. Service is spotty but I’m never in a rush so it doesn’t bother me. Food menu is still bar food. They have Frito pie on the menu. 100% American. All good!

I tried them in the heights and loved them. Energey corridor not so much. Service has always been good but the food is just fair. Nice place to go watch a game but just nit that impressed with the food.

Everything it was good even the service. I love it. I will be back soon. Food was amazing and mallorie i think she’s my sever she has done a great job taking care of us. Great experience. I recommend this place to my friends and everyone.

I’ll give Christian’s three stars because the burgers are so good. But on this visit, my third, they got my burger order wrong, even AFTER I sent it back. I wish the management would pay more attention to details.

So, I hit Christian’s Tailgate up twice this week since it was so close to the hotel. Tuesday was great. I couldn’t understand the bad reviews. The waitress (Ariel) was great, offering suggestions and keeping the drinks coming. Thursday I decided to hit Christian’s again because I didn’t feel like dining around. Sat at the bar this time since all the high tips were gone. I’ve eaten at the bar at so many places and always got great service, but not tonight. Some tacos (really good, by the way, especially the grilled fish… Actually the tacos are the only reason they are getting three stars, and it would be more had the service been mediocre), two beers and almost 90 minutes later, I finally got my check. I sat longer with an empty glass than one with anything in it, 10 minutes without a glass at all (between drinks, while waiting for food to come out).
Would I recommend Christian’s? Yes, I would. Just don’t sit at the bar, especially if a 30-​something with a faux beard is working it. Seriously dude… All of the customers are paying you… not just the ones you know. Just for the record… Tuesday tip @ 22%, Thursday @ 8%.

I wanna start by saying the service is about as slow as it can be. It was just my wife and I and they still take forever getting even a simple appetizer out! The only reason this gets a two stars is because the food was ok. I won’t be coming back.

Had a great time at this restaurant. The food was really good. The staff was very helpful. I would definitely come back. The only challenge was finding parking, but the food was worth it!

They fixed their AC! Now I can actually enjoy the experience this sports bar offers. Not to mention it’s just in time for football season

Went to Christians Tailgate for happy hour today and was actually very surprised at how much I enjoyed it there. First, our waitress was super nice and attentive, stopping by our table multiple times (because all the drinks were so cheap we didn’t know what the heck we wanted half the time). Although it was busy, our drinks and food came quick, our two orders of tacos and a burger arriving in under 15 minutes.
I had the shrimp tacos and they would’ve been just ordinary slap some shrimp on a tortilla with some iceberg and tomatoes if it wasn’t for a tasty spicy mayo they used as a dressing. The Tuesday special of $ 1 tacos made them taste even better.
And to sum it all up the atmosphere was just very casual and relaxed. If there’s ever an awkward moment in the conversation at dinner, there’s numerous TVs on the wall to look at. It’s also a great place to catch a game or to grab ten tacos for $ 10 on a Tuesday if you’re in the mood.

So what was supposed to be a small happy hour with a few friends turned into an all night party. We got there about 5ish to enjoy a few drinks and appetizers and celebrate my 36^th Birthday and I’ll say this may be my birthday spot from now on. The oysters were fresh and I couldn’t believe the price 50 cents each. The drinks are perfectly poured and for $ 2.50 you can afford more than one. The DJ even sent over birthday shots to me and my friends. The wait staff was friendly and fast and didn’t mind taking pictures for us. Later in the night they had karaōke and that made it even more fun. If you have a game you’d like to watch they don’t mind changing the channel in the screens so you can enjoy the game. Best Happy Hour spot close to home.

I went to this location last night with a party of at least 10 people. We had come for happy hour and I used Unilocal to get a free appetizer, which was basically a meal since I was also drinking.
Their frozen margarita was a good size but it wasn’t as strong as I hoped it would be. Happy hour specials on drinks were pretty good, food was better than I expected (shrimp quesadilla appetizer, chicken tenders, and 50 cent oysters on fridays), and service was awesome– our waitress was very attentive and nice.
They must have stepped up their game cause I wouldn’t mind coming back again.

We came over here on a whim for some 50 cent oysters, but it was late, and they ran out… too bad. The manager came by she was very nice and bought us a shot. Who doesn’t like a free cocktail?!
Stayed and had some dinner. food was good and our server Katie was hot. We will be back fo sho

I had to write this review because I felt the current rating is far from what this place deserves.
We were helped by a manager, some hot redhead (will have to find her again). She was super friendly and accommodating. We had 50 cent oysters, and man they were huge and fresh. We were later informed that they receive their oysters from the same distributor that HEB buys from.
We played darts and listened to some (good and bad. and worse) karaōke-​ing. We sang a little ourselves, too. It was a lot of fun.
Just keep in mind that this place is a bar. Don’t expect full wait service. The waiters/​waitresses have to make their rounds, so they can’t constantly be tending to your table like at a restaurant. They will be around, but you gotta grab their attention to let them know you need something. If you just let them know you need something, you will get great service. Our food came out quick, and our waitress came back right away every time we asked for water or lemons or whatever.
We’ve gone back a few times and never had any of the issues other Unilocalers described.
Keep an open mind. The food is great and inexpensive. The atmosphere is chill. Hunker down and have yourself a good time!

I agree with most of the other people in regards to parking; it is a bit tight but, overall a cool place to watch a game at.
They must have recently had an overhaul because everyone there looks new.
Steak night on Thursdays and 50 cent oysters on Friday; can’t beat that!

Started off with their appetizer samplers, cheese sticks, jalapeño poppers, and taquitos. Afterwards, I had their 16 oz steak with a dos equis. The apps were delicious and had a good crisp to them. The steak was a good cut of meat with a little fat. It was juicy and cooked how I liked. Had to be one of the better steaks I had in a while. They have a special every night and really huge TVs to watch the games. They have a country feel to it with hot waitresses. I think they’re known for their burgers, so I’ll try them next time. Had a very good experience.

Stayed nearby at the Wyndham so convenience was priority despite the mixed reviews. We noticed crawfish was offered for the evening so we took 5 pounds of that along with the special of 50 cent oysters for appetizers… Too bad BOTH were delivered at the same time! Do we want ice cold oysters or steaming hot crawfish? Not too pleased with that. Also, our crawfish only came with potatoes, nothing else offered. However, leaving out the door did we notice other tables had corn and mushrooms with their order… that wasn’t offered to us at all. Oh well, it’s not a crawfish joint but still!
All in all, I’d probably go back just for the convenience but certainly wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there again.

I have been here several times, mostly for lunch, but I suggested that a few of my friends meet here for the NCAA elite 8 games today.
It started with 2 of us getting here early and then we were joined by 5 more a little later. Our waitress was Nicky and we kept her busy most of the night. We had numerous drinks and food and she was able to keep all of our tabs separate and accurate. This was impressive to me. We had different guys ordering rounds and food I don’t know if I could have kept up, but of course I had a few drinks lol.
I had the catfish sandwich and it was very good, a few others tried the sandwich and the Catfish basket and they all liked it. We also had one person have a hamburger because they are known for their burgers. He enjoyed it.
They also had crawfish today and we tried a few pounds but although they were spicy they weren’t the best that we ever had. We all are from New Orleans and we know what crawfish is supposed to taste like. Several of the guy have boiled them
themselves.
One reason we chose this place was because of the large amount of TVs that they have, I think its over 30 so no matter where you sit, you can see all of the action.
In the end everyone enjoyed themselves (our team won) and said that we may come back for another event or happy hour.

I really want to like this place. I’ve been here a handful of times and the service and food is inconsistent. Sometimes the service is great and the food is great, other times the service is horrible (non-​existent) and the food is terrible. I’ve convinced a lot of people from my work to go there, and they’ve always tell me that the service was not good and they won’t go back.
I do like that this Christians Tailgate is conveniently located on my way home from work.
Here is some feedback in regards of service:
All the waiters that I have had are not very knowledgeable about the specials available. Thursday night is steak night and my friend asked the waitress what kind of steak is it, her response was «I don’t’ know, I’m a vegetarian». What does you being a vegetarian have to do with you knowing what steak that you will be serving on steak night? We had the steak, and it was very bland and I’d rather eat it elsewhere.
Once me and my coworkers went to Christians 2 nights in a row and the first night the waitress knew what the happy hour drink specials were. The next day we went again and a different waitress told us there were no happy hour drink specials.
I tried their bacon bacon burger and it was fantastic the first time I had it. The next 2 times, it was not cooked right or the bacon tasted funny.
Their fries are fantastic!
I’m only providing feedback in hopes that they make changes. This place has so much potential of being great.
