If Zippy’s had a delivery service I’d eat there everyday. Delivery $ 25 minimum = win/win

Overrated! Not good. Picked up the 12 piece fried chicken with sides and it was awful. There was a long line and wait and the food was gross. I do not recommend. Safeway has better fried chicken

Went here about 1am with some friends. There was no one in front of us really, but then when we ordered me and my friend waitied about 20 minutes for our food, because there was only 2 people working the front, and phone orders were coming in. Our food literally sat there for a good 10 minutes before we got it.

I dream about Macaroni Salad for a week every time I get ready to come visit my family in Hawaii. When they ask me where I want to go for meals, I just say, «anywhere that has mac salad ! lol. I love Zippy’s mac salad, although, I think they have changed the recipe since I last went, three years ago??? Doesn’t matter, it’s still as delicious as ever. I have learned to get the mini bowls because a regular sized one is just too big for a person to finish! I love getting the Tonkatsu or Beef Teriyaki. All that flavor in one bowl — what more could you ask for??? And I discovered Lilikoi juice during this last visit, compliments of my cousin. Thanks Tommy S. Also, I guess I never really paid attention before, but they have a dine-in area! We used to always go to the take-out side…

Zippy’s is usually my son’s first choice when asked where he wants to eat. And tonight was no different. We saw the promo for the Prime Burger Zip Deal for $ 5.99, thought the burger looked delicious and we both ordered the Deal. My son ordered a regular Spaghetti plate. There were other customers so we knew we would have to wait for our food. I don’t know how long we waited, but it did seem longer than 15 minutes. When we got our food, our son dug into his spaghetti. My husband and I looked at our burgers and were disappointed. The burgers were dry, burnt(not just slightly over cooked, but burnt enough to see black char on them) and quite thin. Granted, it’s been a few years since I’ve had any of the Prime Burgers, but I always remembered them being thicker than the regular burger. This«Prime burger» didn’t appear any different from a regular burger. The fries also were quite«brown.» My husband took his back the counter and asked the cashier if what he got was actually a «Prime burger» because it did not look like the promo picture, which was right there on the counter. I’m aware that what’s served usually does not look exactly like the pictures in the menus or in the promos. However, this«Prime burger» did not look like the picture at all. I didn’t have my camera with me and I have a stupidphone, so no pics. Anyway, the cashier my husband spoke to said that’s how the Prime burgers are and did not seem to know how to handle the situation of a customer not being satisfied with the food. Another cashier took the burgers back. My husband waited about 10 minutes for another set of Prime Burger Zip Deals. This time, the burger looked juicier(although I think it was just a bit more oily) and was not as burnt, but it still resembled a regular burger. The fries were even browner this time around, leading me to wonder if our original fries were thrown back into the fryer. I think the promo picture was quite deceiving. If what we received really was the«Prime burger,» I’m afraid to see what a regular burger would look like… I don’t know the burger could get any thinner and still be called a burger. We were both disappointed with this so called«Prime Burger» Zip Deal. Has anyone else ordered this promo? I’m wondering if that’s how the Prime Burger really looks like nowadays.

Loved it and go to this place ALOT when I was growing up. Their foods were cheap back then. I really loved their bentos. They were alot of food but now they skimpy about it and pricey too. Although foods are good, but not the best. 24⁄7 operation, order at the counter and pick up. It’s located pretty much everywhere on the island. Very convenient.

I’ve been going to zippy’s since I was a kid. The priced have steadily gone up, while the quantity had gone down. Zippy’s is mediocre at best for quality. Every time I go to zippy’s I always end up asking myself, why did I eat here again? $ 13 for a sandwich and iced tea. All of which I could have, and should have, just made at home!

I can not imagine a visit to Hawaii without a stop at Zippy’s. Good«stick to your ribs food’ and fresh cakes from the on location bakery. This is an important part of a Hawaii vacation. Enjoyed an order of Chicken Kastsu. My first time and it tasted good.

As a former resident, I still gravitate to this place(McCully & Kapahulu locations). I went early to McCully @ 5:30pm and has excellent waitress service. Kapahulu does not have waitresses. Smaller and a bit more Spartan than McCully location. Tourists may find food okay but it’s the locals that can appreciate the ‘local’ menu variety or a special like spaghetti w/fried chicken. Teri beef plate and chili w/rice are my faves.

During the six years I lived in Oregon I found that one of the things I missed the most about Hawaii was Zippy’s. Why? I do not really understand why. It must be genetically programed into every baby born to Hawaii and is activated upon their departure from the Islands. The food is ok, nothing to really rave about, but nothing to complain about either. I’ve grown up on zippy’s, so it has been a staple food and rotates into my diet at least once every two weeks, especially the Korean chicken. The service is like riding a roller coaster, with its ups and downs. The dine-in waiters and waitresses that work between the hours of midnight and five am must get tired of dealing with all the intoxicated twenty somethings that are also on the zippy’s staple diet and smooze in after a long night of clubbing. That’s what happens when you’re open 24-hours. This particular location is the one I frequent the most. I have noted on several occasions that my service experience in the dine-in room has been fairly better than at other locations and the food is pretty consistent across the board. I do find myself wondering after my most recent visit to «McCully Zippy’s» why are there always so many dang cops at this location? Have they figured out that we, the late-night drunkards who must gorge ourselves in delicious Portuguese sausage omelet sandwiches and Korean chicken to sober up, like this location and are there hovering to give us a dui when we leave? I’m trying to enjoy my late night drunken piggyfest and their constant presence makes me paranoid. And when I’m paranoid, I eat more. Good for zippy’s, bad for me. And for the record, I do not condone drunk driving. Please have your DD drive you to zippy’s.

9pm-12 service is pretty terrible. 25min wait for food(corn beef hash and mini chili frank). 5tables only on 1 waitresses, take that how you will. Had to refill our water 3 times on our own. Also had to get up and get our own utensils. Ordering food, this woman was testy cutting me off before I finished saying corn beef hash and eggs, worse was because she cut me off she forgot the meat I ordered. I use to frequent this place often after closing shift with my buddies. Now the service is terrible though, only topped by the abysmal service from the young st zippy. Preview: 20mins after being seated and a waiter didn’t even drop water off. The place was a quarter full. We upped and walked out. The aunties at zippys use to be really nice and pleasant, now they’re all gone and have been replaced with uncaring, poor excuses for service providers. The food is still at least mediocre

I am writing this review for the Napoleon Bakery, which is part of this Zippy’s. My wife loves custard pies, so we get them once in awhile here, and they are good. Even I think so, and I’m not a huge fan of custard pies normally. We have also bought lemon meringue pie and apple pie here, and have been pleased with both. Once in awhile, we treat the kids to donuts, and we sometimes get an apple napple, lemon bar, or apple fritter. We haven’t eaten anything yet that was disappointing in the least. We’ve gotten dobash cakes and guava chiffon cakes here, too. The people behind the counter at this location have also been consistently friendly and helpful. Naturally, this is a neighborhood favorite for us. They are located next Washington Middle School on King Street.

So I went with my friend and her husband for a quick bit to eat at Zippy’s! They said it was like Denny’s here on the mainland! Actually, they lied… it may have been but, the food was better the the service was WWWWWWWWWWAYY better! I like the place! The portion was decent and also, the menu had so many choices… not a good place if you can’t make up your mind quickly! I had their chili because that is what they are known for! It was good! The service! FAN-TASTIC! That place was the first real smiley face I saw when I landed in Hawaii the first day! Everyone there is genuine and have a wonderful attitude! I have to say it’s American but with a Hawaiian twist of course. So you’ll find American dishes but, you will also find food that the locals eat. It is a local eatery! I love it! Price wise is not that expensive but, I would go back again for the same experience! Way to go Zippy’s!
