Best Korean barbecue in Oahu. The meat and chicken are cooked to perfection. You can’t beat the price. We have gone to three other Korean barbecue places and they don’t compare. If you visit Hawaii Kaii stop here for lunch or dinner and then go next door for shaved ice at Kokonuts.

This review is actually for the Don Quijote store but they don’t they have a separate address so I used the next closest thing. Anyways, if you want what could be a day’s worth of food in one sitting you go to Yummy Korean Bar-B-Q LOL! That’s of course if you get the Yummy Special. The Yummy Special,(what I usually get) is literally like 4 different meats and 4 sides! I’m a good 200lbs and I’d rather split this meal for both lunch and dinner. The premises are always in good condition and the workers are nice enough lol! There’s enough seating for a nice large crowd and considering the foot traffic for Don Quijote, they keep it pretty tidy in there. Besides that, what more could you want from a sit down fast food chain?

Lots of pretty good food for a good price! No seating inside the restaurant but a few tables outside.

Im giving 4⁄5 stars for a fast food/cafeteria style establishment. I enjoyed the food we ordered at Yummy. It was good, cheap and plentiful. It was exactly the quick korean plate we needed. But I wish everyone would make their kimchee more spicy!!!

I’m a big fan of this chain, but this particular location had a few issues. In general: I love the beef plates from Yummy; there is always a generous portion of meat, well done. The side dishes are some of my favorites in Honolulu– the choi sum, kimchee, corn, tofu, mac salad, etc., are all delicious. The spicy/sweet hot sauce and meat jun are necessary bonuses to the meat. Specifically at this location: The Waikiki location used to be in the International Marketplace, where it was a charming and old little window restaurant in the food court. With the shutting of the Marketplace last year, Yummy was forced to move across the street. The restaurant is small and very clean. My food on this particular visit was overdone(charred on the edges). It was also much fattier and tougher than at other locations. There were considerably less side dishes from which to choose. On the other hand, they have many more main dishes than other locations. This is a great place for a very filling meal in Waikiki, but I recommend take-out as there’s no nice table area.

If you want authentic Korean BBQ, this isn’t the place. The food is decent, but if you want the real flavor of Korean food, don’t go here. The place is quick, the food is decent, but something about it isn’t flavored right. If you are not looking for the actual authentic flavor, this is a good alternative, but not the real thing. I believe everyone was Chinese there, and somehow they don’t have it right, but pretty close.

It’s an open air market tourist spot in the food court. Of the International market! The lady ordering could have smiled more. But that’s okay. She was very accommodating in. Answering questions and recommending. I tried the bi bim kook soo. $ 10. It’s a cold red spicy noodle dish covered with daily fresh made kimchee. What I loved about this Kim Chee was the freshness and crunch with every bite. The grilled beef slices were perfectly cooked and tender. I felt they were generous with the portion of items for this price. I did ask to try some different kimchee. And the server obliged. I wish I lived here. As I would love to now try their other dishes! Absolutely perfect Korean flavors and food experience. Most dishes. Under $ 15! And CASHONLY!

This place hits the spot. Kalbi, bulgogi, mandoo, macaroni salad, kimchee. Nice portions! We kept wanting to come back for more. Very reasonable prices and lots of different veggies to choose from. We’ll be returning the next time we stay at Waikiki.

Great food at a reasonable cost(waikiki prices). i really liked the spicy bbq pork and the kalbi was seasoned to perfection. I like it that all the food is cooked to order. Not the best customer service, but i don’t care as long as the food is good.

Good value and you will get lots of food. I liked the combo and was surprised when I was handed the food since and I could not believe how much food was included. Not a fan of the lack of seating at the Int’l Market area.

I like that you get 4 vegetables with your meal. I felt very healthy and virtuous. It’s a nice change from Hawaiian style lunches that tend to be lacking in vegetables. The Korean shortribs are yummy and I really liked the seaweed. Inexpensive for Waikiki, and BIG portions.

If you’ve eaten legit Korean food this is nothing compared to it. I don’t want to sound rude or immature by posting negative remarks about this place but I cannot stand Yummy’s food. The sides are always old, dry, or cold. The portioning for the entrée is terribly small & the prices are extremely high. Also, customer service is almost irrelevant in their dictionary. When I was ordering a kalbi plate the cashier was licking rice off her fingers in front of all the customers LOL!

The customer service here sucks. We ordered 2 combo meals and it was enough to feed me and my family(4 total). I just felt like while we were ordering, the lady taking the order was rushing us so she can put in as much orders as she can. Food was generous for the price that we paid. We spent about $ 26. That’s a bargain being around that area! Everything was cooked to perfection. The BBQ chicken, short ribs, BBQ Kalbi and the sides. The service just sucked so the food didn’t taste as great. :)

We walked about a mile and a half to get here but boy was it worth it! I wasn’t sure what to order cause I’d never had Korean BBQ but the line was a good sign. I asked the guy in front of me what he had and ordered the same thing, a combo plate of BBQ chicken & beef, a few veggies and dumplings, all for around $ 12. Seasoned perfectly, filling proportions and I felt like I was eating healthy. One of my favorite meals in Hawaii! If only they’d move to Georgia. Sigh…

Yummy Korean BBQ is located in the food court of the International Marketplace in Waikiki. Since I like to eat kalbi, I decided to try this Yummy’s location. Based on past experiences ordering from other Korean places, they will give more than enough food. So with that in mind my husband and I decided to split a combination plate lunch. I ordered #15 which is a combo with kalbi and spicy chicken for $ 12.55. It is served with white rice, choice of 4 vegetables and two pieces of gyoza. The four choices of vegetables I chose was shoyu potato, broccoli, seaweed and long rice. When we arrived it was not busy at all so the wait for our food was not too long. Although the foam plate felt heavy, upon opening it I was quite shocked that they were very skimpy on the vegetables. There were exactly two pieces of shoyu potato, two pieces of broccoli, a small serving of long rice and seaweed. As far as the meat and chicken, I ate the two pieces of kalbi and he ate the two pieces of spicy chicken. The kalbi tasted okay but it was thinly sliced with fat and bone which gave me less to eat. Although I was quite disappointed in the portions, my husband seem to enjoy eating the spicy chicken. Overall I have to say that for the amount of food they give, it is not worth it for the price. Best to go elsewhere for Korean food.

The short ribs were delicious, but I was expecting a more generous serving of the vegetables(banchan). I had to wait at least five minutes for my order to be ready, my husband waited longer. I was not compelled to eat there again since there were other choices in the food court anyway.

Not as healthy as ahi tuna but almost equally delish… As I bought my healthy dinner of Ahi Tuna my wife who is in far better shape bought the less healthy BBQ Kalbi at the Yummy Korean BBQ. After reading Vlad K’s review that«the service is zero and they are indeed mean, the lady was waving her broom and feet all over the food» I’m glad I didn’t order it and didnt have to witness these things. On a brighter note I ate the food prior to reading his review so I was also not nervous about the health implications of the meal. All in all it was good. Kind of chewy. Not bad cos-pa(value). I like Me’s Korean BBQ down Kuhio towards Diamond head on Uluniu just behind Ruffage. It’s fresher, bigger and better Cost performance. g

completely gross. the service is zero and they are indeed mean, the lady was waving her broom and feet all over the food and then she stepped on the counter with her bare feet and waived the broom over the food again and it was completely gross, we wanted to puke and return our food but we had eaten almost all of it. It is bit expensive, across the street at the waikiki shopping plaza u can find same priced meals with double portion and better quality. Ate at this international market yummy once and never again

I like their Beef-Gulbi. Reasonable price and big portion. You can choose 4kinds of side dishes. Try it.
