Ono plate lunches! The plate lunches are between $ 6-$ 9, and the amount they give you is well worth it. Aunty and uncle that own the shop are super nice and friendly. Im glad i live near the shop.

Came here about 2 and they were open. Looks like it’s the home base for the lunch wagon. I had the Beef Stew and it was pretty good. Friendly staff and they helped out even though they were working on unpacking the truck. They say they will be open til about 7pm later this month. Cool G

Properly known as Yuki’s Lunch Wagon, Yuki’s serves typical local food at a fair price out of an old 50’s-60’s GMC Grumman vending van at Queen’s POBIII and its main kitchen on Keeaumoku St. Most of the food is on the salty side. The meat is sometimes dry due to being overcooked. That’s the case with their beef stew, curry, teriyaki beef, & shoyu chicken. My personal favorites include roast pork & beef cutlet, both with brown gravy. Mac salad is da bomb! Not too much mayonnaise, nor overcooked pasta. The grated carrots lend a nice subtle flavor. For the health conscious there’s toss salad, which is basically lettuce, tomato, cucumber, & ranch or Italian dressing. Though a good healthy choice to offset the main dish, it doesn’t do enough to quell the excess salty flavor of the main dishes. There were also a few times when the cucumber was not fresh. If you wanna pretend you’re eating healthy, you can get the brown rice, which tastes as good as the white rice. The burgers are good if you are in a penny pinch. Somewhat dry, at least it’s well done, just the way locals prefer it. You can also get mini plates. Some things to avoid: vegetable tofu chicken stir fry — greasy, ahi/mahi with teriyaki sauce — generally speaking, teriyaki sauce & fish is not a good match, hamburger curry stew — a bit chewy, & some kind of cranberry curry salad. That being said, the service is always fast & friendly. Try the specials when available. The quantity is always generous. You don’t come here to eat healthy. It’s simply comfort food and a good alternative to eating hospital food.
