I usually go to Gina’s for my casual Korean food, but I saw this place while on a trip to Safeway and thought I’d try it out. They are to-go place, with no tables. They have all the typical Korean food, like BBQ meats, wings, meat-jun, kook su, etc. I thought the BBQ pork was sort of tough and not the best flavor. I also added some mandoo on for an extra few dollars and that was pretty awful – limp and flavorless. The food here is okay, but I prefer Gina’s BBQ, which is a similar style place.

This place is so Ono, so great. The ajuhshi that works there is kinda awkward but super nice! I got the aloha special — — combo of beef, chicken, meat pajun, 4 sides, rice and one random mandoo dumpling??! It’s amazingly good. Feeds two though, IMHO. You’ve gotta check this place out!

I always end up here at least a couple of times a month. The owners are awesome at helping even when it’s super busy… which tends to happen often. I like the fish jun and even the mini is a pretty decent size. Definitely recommend you check this place out if you’re in the mood for Korean food.

This place gives you a good sized meal for under $ 10 bucks! The location is in town with an accessible parking lot in Kapahulu Safeway. If you can’t find Kapahulu Safeway, just know it’s on the outskirts of Waikiki and it’s hard to miss. Ordered the mini combination plate of bbq chicken and meat jun with chop chae and tofu… Yum. Sides tasted fresh and the meats were pretty ono for a cheap plate lunch place. Just came from school and wanted something more filling and wholesome besides pricey Fresh Catch or fried chicken and poke from Foodland. Again, a girl can only eat so much of Zippy’s to stay«local.» I needed some grinds before going back to work! I’m loving how the counters look sanitary. They’re not surgical clean(it’s food, damn it) but it’s more of an incentive for me to come back for more. $ 8.99 for mini combo plate plus tax… Not bad :) TL;DR Good prices under $ 10 Accepts card Good portions In Kapahulu Safeway Clean/good service Will return and do phone orders for late night dinners.

Kalbi and BBQ meat is the way to go… and the 4 selections you can choose from. Like garlic potatoes, shoyu potatoes, long rice, bean sprout, macaroni salad, tofu, seaweed, Choi sum, n Kim chee to name a few. The best part is not only the food but the service, such a nice and pretty lady to help you with your order too, beautiful personality. We will be back… thank you.

I frequent this place so I really should’ve written this a while ago but here we go! The owners are very friendly. EVERY time I’ve come in, they’re always smiling and pleasant. This is no frills kind of mom and pop spot. I wouldn’t say it’s authentic, it definitely has a local flare to it. The food IS a bit on the salty side but they’re pretty dang consistent here and for $ 12.50 I always get the Yooncy plate which comes with kalbi, bulgogi, and spicy bbq chicken. That’s like(3) meals for me so that’s a pretty good deal! Again, this isn’t a fancy spot. There is outdoor seating right outside of the restaurant but I usually just pop by and get it to-go. WAY better than Pearl’s so if you’re in the area, pop by and check them out!

Korean food is one of my favorite foods. I can eat it anytime of the week! They have a new system here where you write down your own sides, which is easier and faster if they have a crowd, because sometimes this place does get a little busy. The women behind the register was very friendly, and kind. She took our complicated order with no problem(we ordered 5 plates lol). Food: So majority of the times when I used to come here id get the Meat jun. Lately I’ve been craving spicy or anything with a kick. More like bulgogi type is what I crave. So I hopped on Unilocal to see if someone has yet described the spicy sauce here and they didn’t! They just keep saying it’s the best it’s awesome. Well folks let me tell you! I ordered the spicy pork & beef combo, I was half expecting it to be super spicy but it wasn’t! It was perfect just how I like it, in a bulgogi type spice way. Hot but a little sweet subtle and delicious. Now I can’t speak for the spicy bbq chicken I don’t know if it’s the same sauce but if it is, I’d like to try that next. They give choke food, so if your hungry this is the place to come too! Great prices doesn’t brake your wallet! I’ll be back for sure!

Great service with a smile. Every time we came here on our trip we left with a smile. This spot is a sure shot. All the veggies, salads are extremely fresh with great flavor. Come with an appetite the servings are huge easily can be lunch and dinner or can be shared with another. We stayed in the area for 2 weeks we ate here nearly every other day, it’s so damn good and nice I love the aloha spirit they gave. Sure shots: fish, meat jun fried shrimp, mac salad the greens, slaws, potato, bbq chicken. Definitely 1st meal when we come back. Thanks again for the great food and service.

Korean BBQ take out is not hard to come by if you live in Honolulu, and you may already have a favorite chain you frequent based on familiarity. If you don’t know where to look, it can be tough to find a quality Korean BBQ take out option even if it’s been hiding in plain sight. YoonCy BBQ maintains the friendly charm of a mom and pop shop in the suburbs. You will often be greeted by a sweet woman who will take your order and maintain a calm order to this popular and often crowded restaurant. After having a not-so-stellar experience at the Korean BBQ restaurant in Kahala Mall, YoonCy has become the place I swear by for take out plate lunch. The soups are freshly made and consistently prepared to order. If you aren’t a fan of beef, you can order mandoo or kimchee and tofu soup. The sides are fresh and can even be ordered for a large crowd for catering. If you’re like me and cannot decide with just four choices, you have the option of getting another four to splurge on eight tasty compliments to any meal. It’s cheaper than ordering a cocktail at a bar and will decidedly last longer.

Tasty Korean food to go at a great price. The BBQ chicken meal is $ 9.41 with tax and includes two large pieces of chicken along with four generously portioned sides of your choice. The choy sum and green beans are wonderfully cooked so they still have a crisp to them and are only lightly seasoned which I love. The cucumbers are sweet, tangy and spicy and I’m sure I could eat an entire bowl of just those. The fourth choice is always a toss up for me between the glass noodles and the potato salad. If you want to indulge in some potatoey mayonaissey goodness, definitely go for the potato salad! Unfortunately the bean sprouts here don’t do it for me as they are lacking something… I think sesame oil. The meat jun has a really great flavor but is a little heavily breaded for my liking, but I suppose I’ll order it if my pants are ever fitting particularly loose. :)

Catered food from YoonCy last weekend for 12 people, and it was a big hit. I read the positive reviews on Unilocal and decided to try them out. I was really happy my guests loved the food. Everyone commented on how tender and tasty the meats were and how fresh the veggies were as well. Staff was very helpful when I called to order and even told me I was over ordering. They helped me to personalize my order to suit my small party.

Korean take out places are numerous, but I can add this one to a list of good places to grab food. really clean korean take out. Veggies are fresh and their fish jun was good. The whole take out plate was prepared well and food wasn’t just tossed in haphazardly. Nothing fancy but sometimes that’s all that you need for a meal.

A whole Lotta good Korean food for a great price! I was stuffed! On our stay in Waikiki, i frequented this establishment at least 4 times. The spicy bbq boneless chicken with 4 Korean sides made my stomach happy and content. If you’re looking for cheap eats and have a big family to feed on a budget, definitely give this place a visit. Each time I went, there was always a line of people, but the lines go quick. I guess they figured out a system of how to get people in and out and coming back for more

This is the best place for people that are ballin on a budget, like yours truly. Each of the plates are easily enough for two people and they are so cheep and tasty that it makes a great meal for two. I love the fact that you get to choose 4 sides to go with every meal. I always choose the tofu, kimchi, long rice, and mac salad, but they have a lot more choices. The only down side is that there is no seating inside, and very little outside. I usually go with my girlfriend and pick up a YoonCy special to go so we can split it back at our place. The couple that run the restaurant are always there and they are the cutest thing, they are so nice to everyone. The location on Kapahulu is very convenient if your in Waikiki, or going to Waikiki. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great tasting cheep meal.

1. VERDICT/VALUE More expensive than Gina’s BBQ but you get tender meats and top-notch to-go meals at a reasonable price. Recommended! 2. FOOD The YoonCy Special($ 12.49) comes with beef kalbi, BBQ beef, and BBQ chicken served on rice. It comes with 4 sides(broccoli, seaweed, choy, and kimchi today) and a gau gee. Tender meats, great sides, this is a fantastic hungry-man’s meal! The Bi Bim Bap($ 8.49) comes with tender beef, choy, and cabbage served on rice, topped by an egg. Another successful dish! 3. SERVICE Great for a takeout place and the wait isn’t long. 4. ATMOSPHERE It really is take-out only here; there are some communal tables and chairs outside of the shop in the complex that can be used; the ample parking in the shopping complex makes coming here easy.

Solid place to get Korean BBQ! My husband and I are frequent patrons, and this place always hits the spot when I’m craving some Korean BBQ. We frequently share the YoonCy special(Kalbi, BBQ beef, and Korean BBQ Chicken), which is always delicious, but have tried other combination plates, and you really can’t go wrong with any of them. With the regular size plates, you get a ton of rice and your choice of 4 sides — we usually get the kim chi, mac salad, garlic potatoes, and another vegetable. You get a ton of food for the price, and it’s a great value. The boba /bubble teas are great, as well. We normally get the taro or honeydew melon. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for some Korean(or want to try Korean for the first time)!

Nice people. Food was very salty. Ordered the bbq chicken plate w/jap chae and vegetables. All very salty. Unfortunately, I couldn’t eat more than two bites without feeling as though my blood pressure was going to rise.
