My husband and I just received our photos online and the first word that came out of our mouths was «Wow!» We couldn’t believe how well the photos looked! Mike and Jon nailed the lighting, camera angles, and most importantly captured the best candid moments which really meant the most to us. They were fantastic to work with! Detail-​oriented, professional and just brilliant!
Because nothing ever goes according to plan, we ran very late into the reception and they stayed the entire time to complete the photos of all the guests! I admire their work ethics and dedication.
The slideshow was compiled perfectly! It captured the essence of the wedding with the best photos without dragging. It is just the right length with just the right flow and a great song choice. I can’t say enough good things about these guys!

I wish I could give 5+ star to them on Unilocal!Ryan and his team are professional, they came half an hour/​an hour earlier to make sure they have enough time to capture everything. We love the photos that they took, the color/​contrast are just right, there’s no detail lost in the photo. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone who wants to get married in Hawaii!

Shout out to Mike and Jon who did a fab job capturing our wedding. They were (and probably still are) super nice, accomodating, talented and stealthy. I forgot they were there for the majority of our day. Our pictures turned out amazing. We get compliments on them all the time. I only have positive things to say about this company. I hope to use their services again in the future.

We had Jon Lagon and Jason as our wedding photographers. They were amazingly professional, patient, and courteous throughout the event. We were very impressed with the way they worked. They made sure we had as many shots as possible at the location, with as many backgrounds as possible. We were worried that there wasn’t going to be enough time for pictures, since our schedule was packed, but they took care of us so well that we did not have to worry at all. Highly recommended!

After seeing how wonderful my sister’s photographs turned out for her wedding, we knew we had to go with Visionari for our big day. We requested Mike (who had done my sister’s wedding) and we were so happy with how smoothly everything went. Mike was such a pleasure to work with and him and his team were so professional and pretty much just awesome! Can’t wait to see how all the pictures turn out, but I already know that they will be wonderful! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Visionari!

Visionari was definitely my first choice when choosing a photographer for our wedding (August 23, 2014). Looking at their albums of recent weddings they’ve done, I felt they captured all those moments perfectly. Ryan and his team at Visionar was the best decision when it came to hiring a wedding photographer! Here are just a couple reasons you should book them right now:
They were very professional. Ryan was super communicative and makes the whole process easy for you. He made it so easy to ask him questions, work through contracts and book him. It was so smooth and clean. His professionalism also shows while taking pictures. He and his team arrived at the wedding venue on time. He kept everything flowing smoothly, sticking to the photo agenda as discussed. His team was awesome and kept us laughing.
We love the artistic touch that VIsionari brings to the pictures. Ryan and his team looked at the environment and managed to find the best angles and artistic elements to make your pictures just that much more awesome. He is also amazing at group and candid pictures. It showed in the gift of photos they gave us at the end. We loved all the pictures and the positive feedback we have received from our guests has been incredible. We can’t wait to see the all of the photos that we should be getting in the next weeks to come.
We would book VIsionari again in an instant and we look forward to using the company again in the future for any of our picture taking needs.

Our wedding was 1 year ago, August 16, 2013. I had written a review last year, but from the looks of it, I forgot to publish it, oops. So here we go:
Everyday we get SO MANY compliments on our wedding photos. Lisa has a talented eye and knows how to direct to get the perfect lighting and composition.
Shoot, Lisa went knee deep into the ocean — WITH HER EXPENSIVE EQUIPMENT — to capture me and my crazy bridesmaids, who were frolicking in our dresses, in the Hawaiian waters.
During our reception many of our guest and myself barely noticed Visionari’s presences snapping away — they are like ninjas — dressed in black and incognito, while capturing all the memories.
My WHOLE family, plus wedding guest, LOVE LOVE LOVE Lisa and her crew. My dad wanted to have Lisa marry into our family, lol. He couldn’t stop talking about how impressed he is with her and the professional cameras, tripods, etc. that Visionari used.
My husband and I had the time of our lives at our wedding. We had no worries what so ever about our vendors, specially Visionari. They rocked our socks off with their professionalism, fun personalities, and ninja like ways with the cameras.
Hands down the BEST photographers we have ever worked with. Captured the colors and memories of our day perfectly. Bottom line, they are well worth the money.
I am so proud and honored to have had Visionari capture our wedding and also part take in the craziness at the reception, lol.

Visionari captured the most amazing moments at my wedding including my dad doing the splits on the dance floor. I didn’t need a videographer because I knew I was in good hands and that Ryan and his team would do an amazing job. Thank you for rushing my photos to me as fast as you could and for sending me a roughdraft of the slideshow to show something to my mom when she could not be patient. I love you guys so much and appreciate the hard work that you do. I will definitely recommend you to my friends. When I got my photos back I was very impressed as was my dad who is also a professional photographer.

SO Great

I am a flake. Let me be clear, I am not always a flake, but I do flake about 65% of the time. I hate answering emails, phone calls, and texts. But, who can blame me when I take care of my very precocious and rambunctious almost 2 year old?
Over the years I have worked with MANY photographers, and Visionari rates at the very top of my list. They handled my flakiness perfectly, did not make me feel like I was a pain the the neck when I was nearly 2 weeks late with my deposit or when we changed our wedding date… TWICE. Each time they spoke to me with professionalism, made me feel at ease, and took the time to help me plan a timeline! I know most photographers don’t have, or make you feel like they don’t have time to do that, or that it isn’t their job.
Ryan called me on several occasions to remind me about what needed to be done prior to the wedding, some helpful tips (i mean I’ve never gotten married before so how was i supposed to know that you should get the biggest hotel room possible to fit 5 bridesmaids, 2 videographers, 2 hair and makeup people, and three photographers?), asked me where we would like to shoot our pre-​ceremony photos, etc. Such a huge help!
You will pay a PRETTY PENNY for them to capture your special day, but, it is worth every, single, cent. Even though I spent an arm, a leg, and a few fingers, I have the peace of mind knowing that I am working with professional and creative people.
I haven’t received my photos yet, but that’s because it takes 8 – 10 weeks and we just got married on Sunday. Can’t wait to see the finished product and when I do, I’ll be posting them here!

When you dream about the biggest day in your life being picture perfect, you always have to remember this is a once in a lifetime experience and you have to make sure every aspect of your wedding is seamless from beginning to end, and for the photograpers at Visionari, they capture those precious moments and then some.
When we had guests from Osaka Japan looking for the BEST photograpers on the island to capture their wedding ceremony in Hawaii, there were many photographers to choose from, but when you are looking for photographers that separate themselves from the rest of the pack, there were two photographers that came to mind from more than a few sources, and the names Jon Lagon and Mike Joy from Visionari Photo came highly recommended.
These two guys are very hard to make appointments with because they are highly sought after, not only by Japanese, but by people from Europe as well. These guys are so good, that people actually pay for their plane tickets and hotel stay just so they can capture and video that once in a lifetime wedding ceremony that people will cherish forever.
Might i add that Jon and Mike also speak fluent Japanese as well which makes it easy for the Japanese clientele that ask for their services. I also wanna add that most of the Visonari staff is also fluent in Japanese as well.
I have to tell you this about Jon and Mike. They do not come cheap. You pay a premium price for their services, but after looking at the finished product, the money that you invest is worth every penny. I have seen the pictures and video, and i was also a part of the wedding ceremony that was being done by Jon and Mike and the Visionari team and it was flawless and let me tell you, our Bride and Groom and other family members from Japan were in awe of the magnificent work done by the Visionari team.

Our wedding reception setup in the private dining room at La Mer French Restaurant at the Halekulani Hotel in Waikiki… This setup was designed by another group which took over three hours to arrange in the private dining room. It was nothing like i have ever seen before.

When me and my Mi-​chan flew to Osaka Japan for Kahori and Toshiyuki’s formal wedding in Japan, we got to see the video which was produced by the Visionari team while they were in Hawaii and it brought tears to me and my Mi-chan’s eyes because we were a part of that very special event.

They strive to be the BEST, and in my eyes, if i could get married all over again, i wish i had chosen Jon and Mike to capture every moment of our wedding because of their quality of work they put into making that once in a lifetime a moment you will never forget.

When we were first given the list of «recommended photographers» from our wedding site, Visionari was the first website we stumbled across. We were INSTANTLY in love with their photography!
Our communication was a bit fumbled from the start and being a destination wedding for me, I was a bit skeptical about their professionalism. But Ryan did everything he could to ensure that I would get nothing but professionalism and quality pictures, and I’m sure glad I chose them!
Their photography is seamless and unobtrusive. We could have gone through our whole ceremony without knowing they (Ryan and Lisa) were around. But after we received our CD of our wedding pics, they were covering it from every angle! Our shots came out beautifully!
Our favorites were the pictures after the ceremony when we took sunset shots on the beach and on some rocks. They were able to capture the lighting beautifully and choose great poses that really enhanced the natural beauty of our surroundings, which was sooo important to us being it was a destination beach wedding.
Ryan and Lisa were such a pleasure to work with and very patient with our (sometimes uncontrollable) family! Lol We are very happy with our amazing pictures from Visionari and so pleased they were able to photograph our special day!

Unbelievable! They are the best team to work with. Mike, Jon, Darren, and the rest of team were awesome… They were so easy to work with, so patient, never once complained.
As a bride, your day is busy with everything going on. It’s easy to forget that you want pictures here and pictures there and make sure you get all the family and blah blah blah. But they were really good about making sure it all gets done.
They also gave me and my new husband pictures of the wedding that was in a frame & it was given to us the same night! along with pictures that they printed that all the family and friends could enjoy before they left the reception. Truly exceptional!
My guests told me it was like having papparazzi at my wedding.
Hard working team, they stayed almost 12 hrs.

I will preface this review by saying that Visionari did not capture the photos at my wedding, however, this review is based on the work I’ve already seen and their unbelievable service and helpfulness that I have experienced first-​hand. It is very clear that not only are they talented, they are willing to listen and provide the service that the client desires, not just what they want or are comfortable with. Specifically, I spoke to Ryan on several occasions and he took the time to ilsten to what I wanted and tried to accommodate me.
Visionari was my dream photographer for my wedding, but because I was offered a «better» deal with another prestigious photographer, I went with him. That was my mistake and probably my biggest regret for my wedding, because the breadth and quality of the photos was just not there, at least in my opinion. Many of my friends have had their weddings shot by Visionari and I loved the style, the vision, the quality of the photos — and they loved them too. Visionari captures everything — the candids, the formals, the emotion of the day. I know now that they are worth every penny.
Before my wedding, I did my research. I had a list of over 25 photographers, their prices, Unilocal reviews, and the like. I studied dozens of portfolios of the «top» photographers in the state. While Visionari’s price was near the top of the list, in this case, you really do get what you pay for. If you are impressed with their work and are only hesitant to book them because of the price, like I was, my best advice would be to reconsider. Their engagement and wedding photos are superb and in my opinion, unmatched by any other photographer in the state. You don’t want to be like me and have hundreds of uncaptured moments after your wedding day by picking a photographer who is cheaper. You can never get those images ever captured again.

Visionari — Mike, Jon and Johnny, you guys are absolutely amazing! Not only were you guys willing to travel to shoot our wedding in California and Vegas — you guys made our day sooo memorable!!! We love all of our photos!

Visionari photographers Jon and Mike captured all the special moments from our wedding beautifully! We loved their photojournalistic style and artistic eye for lighting and reflections. It’s important for us to feel comfortable with our photographers so we’d show our most natural smiles. Visionari’s non-​obtrusive professionalism was key to successfully capturing all the emotions from our special day.
We’ve actually met with Visionari two years ago and wanted to book them immediately – we felt that we’d have good chemistry. Planning a destination wedding in Honolulu from New York was quite challenging, fortunately for us, Jon was always very responsive to questions and concerns. We were able to build the best photography package for our budget and needs.
On our wedding day, Visionari was very friendly and patient as they started to shoot our individual preparation photos. They even arranged for our first look at a beautiful quiet corner in the Kahala Hotel & Resort and captured our surprised reactions perfectly. These guys worked non-​stop and at the end of the wedding reception, presented us with an elegant collage of framed photos as a gift! It was a really nice surprise and a breathtaking preview leaving us and our guests wanting to see more!
We’ve received many compliments on our wedding photos and everyone was blown away by our wedding highlights slideshow! Visionari is no doubt the most amazing wedding photographer. .. even when compared to all the elegant weddings that we’ve had the honor to attend in New York, Boston and Hong Kong!
