Another fab UYE hosted by Unilocal Elite Russ M! I haven’t been to Duc’s Bistro in years and was delighted to find out that they now serve lunch. Russ’ friend Drew joined us and was nice enough to bring four different wines for some midday tastings. Sweet!
The highlights of the meal were the steak tartar and shrimp curry with saffron rice. I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical of the steak tartar but it was wonderful! Toast points and pulverized raw beef = Unexpected awesomeness! I didn’t even want to like it but I couldn’t help myself. Who knew?!
We tried three different desserts: Crème brûlée, ginger cheesecake and banana tapioca. Everyone agreed vehemently that the tapioca was the winner! I had to fight back the overwhelming urge to run out the door with the tapioca. It was that good!
High five Russ on another great event and I’m looking forward to our next meet-​up!
