Thorough and Worth the wait. See my earlier review. Efficient, but Dr Jenkins is still way too busy. However, she did return my call within an hour when I was concerned about my sight. I highly recommend.

Amazing! So happy I flew to Honolulu to visit my family AND for refractive surgery. They checked, double-​checked, triple-​checked to make sure I was the right candidate for LASIK. Dr. Ng, Dr. Ueda and Dr. Jenkins are very talented, supportive, and patient doctors. The entire process from pre-​op to post op was seamless, comfortable; and I felt such confidence from them. I cannot say enough good things.
Davina, the refractive surgery coordinator, is very responsive and pleasure to work with. I called her on a Friday and by the following Friday (yes, 7 days!) I am able to see. Thank you!

For all of you contact and glasses users out there don’t waste anymore of your life with less than natural ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision.
Every morning I wake up and see the world clearly without anything and can get on with my day.
No more forgetting to take out my contacts and waking up at two or three in the morning feeling like there’s sandpaper behind my eyes. No more having to rush in to the doctors off to obtain contact prescriptions in order to order more contacts because you’re running out. No more spending money on contacts, glasses, contact solution, lubricants and cleansers. And no more having to choose between using my insurance for contacts or glasses because any plan that I’ve had never seems to never cover both.
I have perfect vision for over a year and a half thanks to Dr. Jenkins.
Did the process of having the outer layer of my eyeballs lasered off freak me out? Yea it did, but she’ll give you medication for that.
Is it scary that during surgery you literally can see and then not and are awake during the entire time? Yup, but knowing that Dr. Jenkins is the best in the state of Hawaii and possibly one of the best in the country in doing of what she does gave me peace of mind.
Her office and team are 100% efficient and professional. From the time of my consultation to the surgery everything was planned out so well over the span of four weeks I barely had do anything other than get myself to appointments.
The procedure is not at the consultation and check up location, and the surgery literally is only a few minutes long. You will be able to see directly afterwards although its like you are in a fog.
If you have HMSA insurance you will receive a discount, and the total cost for everything was around $ 4,200. Definitely don’t mess around with those Groupon or Living Social deals. The cost is pretty steep but when it comes to your vision, only use and invest in the best.
If you are at least 28 and have had your vision not change for two years, get this done for yourself, this is the best gift I have ever bought for myself!

Loved my experience. The whole thing was an absolute breeze and literally pain-​free in all aspects! Top-​notch doctor, personalized experience, top-​notch staff and top of the line equipment. I felt taken care of beginning to end and am sooo happy with my new ²⁰⁄₁₅ vision! It was so bad before, and fortunately I was a rather ideal candidate.

Tyrie Jenkins is absolutely top-​notched. The staff and doctors are very knowledegable and attentive. They have state-​of-​the-​art equipment so you know you are in good hands. I feel well cared for every time I leave their office. Unfortunately, their office policy changed and they no longer give prescriptions or «healthy eye exams». So unless you have an ongoing issue or a family history of eye issues such as glaucoma, then you won’t have the opportunity to experience Dr. Tyrie’s awesome office. If you do have an eye issue or are interested in lasik, then I highly recommend Dr. Tyrie Jenkins’ office. Although neither I nor any of my family has actually been seen by Dr. Tyrie herself, we have seen Dr. Ng and Dr. Ueda and they are both excellent! Check your eyeballs!

So far so awesome… Just got lasik procedure from Dr. Jenkins. Professional at the highest. masterful, efficient and understanding. The staff she has are all professional and accommodating. Both Dr. Ng and Dr. Ueda are friendly, thorough and knowledgeable. Davina is the best at helping you through the process. Highly recommend Dr. Jenkins and crew.

Dr Jenkins is one of the Top Surgeons in Hawaii. Excellent staff. Excellent reputation, and the best in technologically advanced cataract and laser surgeries. You will not regret seeing Dr Jenkins & Staff for all your Ophthalmological needs.
Dr Loretta Ng, an important member on Dr Jenkins staff is also an excellent Optometrists, the most respected lecturers/​educator among Optometrists, and provides excellent eye care.

I love Dr. Jenkins! I most have been a patient of hers for at least 10 years. I had my LASIK operation 9 years ago. My vision continues to be ²⁰⁄₂₀! She’s friendly and professional to her patients, and to her staff. I believe that it is due to her example that her staff also treats her patients with courtesy and friendliness. It’s always a pleasure to see all of them during my yearly examination.

This was the most thorough care I’ve been given at an eye doctor in years. Very excited to have been referred to this specialist doctor and their professional staff.

I came here at the suggestion of my wife and I did not regret it. I’m being treated by Dr. Ng and she is the best by far compared to my other eye doctor in Kaimuki.
After a bunch of test and a dilatation of my eyes, it was found that I do need a mild prescription for GLASSES! I never thought I’d see the day. Realky like a new set of eyes though. No more squinting.
Really friendly and great front desk staff. Dont forget to bring your ID on your first visit so they can make a copy. They also have a Kurig. you cant miss it. All the stuff is in the drawer below :)

This review is based on my LASIK experience. Which if I could, I would be giving Dr. Jenkins many, many more stars. Thanks to her, I can actually see the stars I am giving her and her staff now.
I’ve been in glasses/​contacts for over two decades of my life, having poor vision wasn’t anything terribly upsetting because contacts really do the trick. Much better than glasses. Still, my vision had stabilized at a terrible –5.50 level and I thought that this was the time to consider LASIK.
I always see the Groupon/​Living Social deals for Pan Pacific LASIK which is about $ 2,700 when those specials are being run. Obviously you get what you pay for so I was referred to Dr. Jenkins by my optometrist (Dr. Khan Lau) to get an opinion by Dr. Jenkins. Dr. Jenkins was understanding of my comparison shopping and offered me a price that was slightly higher than the Pan Pacific deal but one that I felt was absolutely worthwhile given the newer technology she utilizes and the positive feedback I’ve seen.
The LASIK quote I received was $ 3,378 including taxes, I still needed to pay for my optometrist visits and the necessary eye drops. Still, this was an amazing value given that I felt I was paying a slight premium to have a highly recommended doctor do my procedure and using the latest equipment.
The procedure itself is only a few minutes long. The actual «laser» procedure is about 20 seconds per eye. You’ll feel a slight pressure during the 20 seconds in each eye and that’s about it. Oh, there is a weird smell too for a few seconds but that isn’t a big deal. As soon as it was over, I was able to see and walk around, etc. Your vision is hazy right after but you can easily see the world around you.
You’ll sleep for 3 – 4 hours, follow the eye drop regimen they prescribe and go to follow-​up visits while you do your immediate healing for the first week. After my 3 – 4 nap, I was able to watch TV, do some computer work and enjoy the rest of my evening with nearly perfect vision.
The next day I was able to work, drive and do everything I normally would WITHOUT glasses or contacts. I am writing this review on my 2^nd day after the procedure and can’t imagine not having done this procedure.
If you’ve been on the fence, let me tell you that this was one of those no-​brainer decisions I’ve done in my life. My left eye is now ²⁰⁄₁₅ and my right eye is ²⁰⁄₂₀. How amazing is that?

Dr. Jenkins and her team were absolutely fabulous from the get-​go – from the time I entered the office for my LASIK consultation, to my one week post-​op, when I was told I had ²⁰⁄₁₅ vision!!!
All instructions given to me were extremely easy to understand, and Davina was so kind to call or email me when I needed to stop wearing contacts, or start a certain type of eye drops.

I was very pleased by everything from the comfort and cleanliness of the waiting area, to the professionalism of Dr. Jenkins and her staff. Theres also the fact that I could see like a hawk just a few hours after the procedure! One of the best decisions Ive ever made!

Yesterday was my surgery and I do not imagine that I would be happier at any other facility! Dr. Jenkins staff is absolutely wonderful and warm. I laughed and had easy conversations with the staff during my preliminary exam and before, after and even DURING the surgery. I am so thankful that I chose to have the surgery and was able to have Dr. Jenkins and her assistants care for me. I have had to wear corrective lenses for 30 years and now I have ²⁰⁄₁₅ vision! Dr. Jenkins is very busy but still focuses on each patience in depth and with care! I will update this review in a few weeks after my eyes have completely healed! I highly recommend LASIK and Dr. Jenkins as well!

6 months after my LASIK procedure, I’m seeing ²⁰⁄₂₀. I would have done this many many years ago and paid double if I knew how well it would have turned out. No glasses No contacts No worries. The staff and doctors there are awesome. Much Mahalo to Dr. Jenkins.

Sorry to be the scrooge but my experiences with this clinic is not all candy and roses. I had incompetent experiences with staff and I must say I still can’t see! I saw better before the cataract surgery… have sore eyes, blurry vision and floaties… I know not everyone can have a successful procedure but I am PISSED!!!

Dr. Jenkins, Dr. Ueda, and Dr. Ng are all wonderful doctors. I have had the pleasure of meeting all of them and they have all cared for my eyes throughout the years. I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else but to this clinic. They also have some of the friendliest and helpful staff I have ever met. They really make you feel comfortable and at ease when visiting the eye doctor.
Dr. Jenkins is the leader in LASIK in Hawaii so why would you trust your eyes with anyone else? Many of my family members have gotten Lasik at her clinic and I hope to next year. Usually people are scared about surgery but I am excited and can’t wait!
Also, the parking structure always has parking and they validate!

Dr. Tyrie Jenkins is the LASIK Santa Clause and her staff are her fabulous and friendly elves that just made my Christmas in October one of the bestest ever!
I don’t know what took me so long, but me being a whimp and watching too many horrifying YouTube videos probably caused me to postpone one of my most life changing decisions I have ever had to make.
I first met Dr. Jenkins at a meet-​and-​greet seminar, which anyone can sign up for. During this one-​hour long seminar, I met other LASIK (and other eye procedure) candidates trying to decide if we should get our procedures done by Dr. Jenkins. She gave a quick presentation about the types of procedures she does and talked about the latest and greatest high-​tech laser she uses. She also explains her experience with LASIK and how she did the procedure on her two daughters. Light pupus and drinks were served and you get to talk to staff, and pre– and post– Lasik people. You also can get a voucher to receive a free consultation and discount on your procedure if you choose to do so with Dr. Jenkins.
After meeting Dr. Jenkins, I was a believer and I made an appointment. Please keep in mind that LASIK is not for everyone, it does cost about $ 4,000, and results vary. But I chose Dr. Jenkins to do my procedure because she is one of the most experienced on the island (was one of the first to perform LASIK and PRK in Hawaii), her credentials are great, her staff is helpful, her office is calming and clean, and she won’t just do LASIK on you for money– she will tell you if your eyes are ready and if you’re a good candidate. They also accept a payment plan. You can sign up for CareCredit on your own (esp. when LASIK isn’t covered by your insurance) but its a credit card for these types of procedures with zero interest for 24 months!
Dr. Jenkins does not perform the procedure in her office. The fancy laser machines are at Aloha Laser Vision, which is shared with Dr. Faulkner and Dr. Sato.
My Experience:
It took me a few months to prep my eyes for the procedure (my eyes were dry and had some scaring from wearing contacts too long). Dr. Jenkins wanted to make sure my eyes were ready for LASIK. I also had to wear glasses for a while to get an accurate reading of my eyes (–5 or something really bad like that). She suggested I use lubricating drops and Restasis before and after the procedure.
Obviously, I was nervous the day of the procedure. Beth, who assisted me in the logistics of the procedure, met me at Aloha Laser Vision and I was told to take valium. A few minutes later I was met in the laser room with Dr. Jenkins and her assistants. She talked me through each step and minutes later it was done! That was the best part– Dr. Jenkins did not leave you in the dark… even when a layer of my eye was flapped open and all my vision turned blurry. She made me feel at ease the whole 5 minutes of the procedure!!! Soon after I was sent home with clear vision and a goodie bag full of instructions, fancy sun-​blocking shades, and drops!
I went back to her office the following day and Dr. Jenkins told me I have ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision! Yipie!
