I didn’t even know this place served ice cream until it popped up as a recommendation for me on Unilocal. All I have to say is thank you fellow Unilocalers! Your great reviews got me to this place! I can’t believe I’ve lived around the corner from this place for a year and never knew how awesome it was. I dragged my friend in with me today and we both got a double scoop in a cup. Had I known how big one scoop was I may have not committed to two… Anyways I got Kona coffee and cookies and cream. My friend got birthday cake and pineapple sherbet. The cups were huge, and the ice cream delicious. I couldn’t finish mine, not even halfway. It was very very creamy and rich. I desperately needed a glass of water to wash it down with. All in all a great ice cream experience. I didn’t shop in the rest of the store which is a bit odd to be honest. Very small with narrow corridors and product piled on either side. And it was incredibly hot inside. I’m not sure if I would shop there but I’ll be back to try different flavors, one scoop at a time.

This is a very good place for ice cream. Very rich in flavor. I tried the pineapple sherbet, and the birthday cake. It is also very cheap 2 cup of 2 scoop was $ 6. Worth it.

This place is my new favorite ice cream spot! For only $ 2 you can get a humongous scoop of ice cream. They call it the single scoop, but let’s be honest, it’s like two scoops and then some. The only things is that they have sign that says«No samples» which is a bummer because I am the kind of person that likes to try my ice cream before I commit. Luckily my cookies n’ cream ice cream was probably the best cookies n’ cream I have ever. I would completely, wholeheartedly, recommend this place to anyone who is looking for ice cream in town. The only thing is that the hours are bit strange, so you want to make sure you check it’s open before you stop by.

My son and I finally had a chance to stop by and get some ice cream. Not only is the price affordable but the ice cream was delicious! The ladies were very friendly too! So happy to get delicious ice cream for two for less than $ 4.00 definitely can’t beat that. Parking is a bit tight but what do you expect this is Oahu! Anyways can’t wait to go back!

Damn, damn fine ice cream!!! And the price makes it 6 stars… can’t find better ice cream anywhere on the island! Had the huckleberry and hubby had the coconut almond fudge — both were awesome. Can’t wait to go back!!!

Such a strange little place to visit. It is literally a drug store … that sells ice cream. And it’s quite a good deal 2 $ for a single scoop. The flavours are great. Only downside is that because it is a pharmacy, there’s no where to sit and enjoy the ice cream. Other than that, great place!

Finally!!! After stumbling onto The Pillbox Pharmacy’s ice cream counter(shout out to fellow Unilocalers!) a while back, I finally had a chance to visit. As mentioned, they don’t offer samples so be daring & order a scoop without a taste. The gal behind the counter was friendly. I chose wisely & selected the Caribou Tracks — toffee ice cream with chocolate covered caramel cups & a caramel swirl. The ice cream is old school, creamy. The kids scoop was generous, as big as a single at most other places & for a mere $ 2(+$ 0.35 for a premium flavor)! I have to return for the Moose Tracks & Huckleberry. Gosh, now when I’m craving ice cream, The Pillbox Pharmacy will be my go to destination. My waistline is happy the hours are limited. I can buy Ben & Jerry’s and Häagen-Dazs at the store. The ice cream is better & cheaper than Baskin Robbins. If you’re craving ice cream, The Pillbox Pharmacy has your cure. TIP: If you’re hungry, drop by Earl Sandwich for a bite.

When in Kaimuki you gotta try Pillbox for their delicious ice cream! Not only do they dispense prescriptions, they dispense happiness with their friendly service and outstanding ice cream. My favorites are Huckleberry(when they have it), and pistachio. The wife loves the Kona Coffee. Check out their hours since they open during some funky times as you don’t want to get disappointed to find they are closed when you get there. I scream for more ice cream!

Have you noticed how all the places that are really Honolulu, really Hawaii, seem to be kinda slowly disappearing and even though we like the big box stores sometimes don’t we, these old places are really special. There’s a little bit of everything in this small store. The ice cream’s right by the front door, it’s great stuff and a real bargain and don’t ignore those little bags of cookies, they really are homemade. Look around this place, it’s really special. I’m not gonna say anymore cause I don’t wanna ruin your good time there. Explore and enjoy.

Baskin & Robbins… you suck compared to this place. I must say, I enjoy their ice cream more than most others. If my family and I are needing an ice cream fix, this is the place to go… of course, the downsides are the lack of parking and the limited hours… but hey, what would you do for greatness?

Why would did place have Saturday hours 9am-3pm? It’s not a convenience to customers at all. Sheesh, trying to get a cool treat middle of afternoon here is terrible. Then, seen the sign with business hours and Sundays it’s posted as 7−11pm. Why??? This business is a long time vendor to the community, but they really should consider changing up the hours to accomodate people.

Uhhh… I’m gonna go ahead and say that PB Pharm has the BEST ice cream on the island … yep — I said it! The ice cream is imported Cascade Glacier in Colorado and it couldn’t be better. On top of everything, it’s cheap and 1 scoop is a giant scoop. Only negative thing is that they do not offer samples, but don’t worry, you can’t go wrong with any of the flavor that they have. I opted for the Strawberry(one of the best Strawberry ice creams I’ve had) and the Coconut Macadamia Nut. Took nearly 20min to finish both scoops! I scream!!!

This review is only for the ICECREAM. Does anyone else out there use Unilocal to look for food in whatever area they happen to be in? I do. That’s how I found this place. Hubby was driving and was in the mood for froyo. I look it up and The Pillbox Pharmacy pops up in the list. I checked out the reviews and convinced him that what he really wanted was ice cream. Being the sweet man he is, he said he wanted ice cream. Yay! We found parking right in front. There was more parking available in the lot side. I’m not sure if that is a paid lot with an attendant or parking meters. As we soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted. The ice cream was right by the door, so it’s easy to find! Everything looked good and I wanted to try them out, but unfortunately, they don’t give out samples. On blind faith(and Unilocal reviews) I got a scoop of rainbow sherbet. It was so good and cold and yummy. And did I mention that the price was unbelievably cheap? I can’t remember the exact price of a scoop because I bought more than ice cream while there, but it was cheap. Who needs 31 flavors when you can come here!!! I’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the flavors!

Ice cream here is great and cheap, I come here maybe once a month or whenever I remember to stop by. The customer service is for the most part superb, they are usually so nice and helpful the moment you walk in. Today I went in and this lady around 30’s or so with a tattoo on her arm helped me and right off the bat I don’t get a good vibe from her almost like I was inconveniencing her with my business. I order a triple scoop, tell her my flavors for that and she doesn’t even ask if I needed anything else, mind you I wanted to add two more double scoops and she gives me a irritated look that I wanted to add more, come to find out there wasn’t enough moose tracks for the double scoops I wanted to order so I changed my mind and decided to order just one double scoop, she looks angry and shakes her head because she has to input a manual void for the double scoop that I changed my mind on. I don’t care who you are, you should never shake your damn head at a customer just because I changed my mind, I’m so sorry it takes you an extra 30 seconds to write in a void to your cash register, if customer service isn’t your forte maybe you should be doing something else, I’ll think twice about coming here for ice cream next time and go to a place that wants my business. I hope the next time I do decide to drop by this person isn’t there because I don’t want to inconvenience her in any way.

It’s not just a drug store but they also sell ice cream! It’s the cheapest ice cream yet. Prices are under five dollars for scoops of ice cream. I love their cotton candy, macadamia/pineapple and green tea!

$ 2 for single giant scoop of ice cream or sherbet is a deal! You can get up to 4 scoops or buy flavors by the pint here for low prices. Since I’ve been on a diet I haven’t been coming here much, but it’s so hard to resist! The ice cream is so good here! As for seating, there is not much, but they don’t mind if you sit on one of 3 chairs near the pharmacy side of the store. Just be courteous if elderly or handicapped people need a seat. Parking can be a little tough. You can either park in their small shared lot on 11th Avenue for free or in the paid lot on the other side of the building. Service has always been friendly and fast. The great thing is that not many people seem to come here so there’s hardly ever a line.

This is only based on the ice cream: Yes, it is cheap. Yes, the people are nice. But the first and only time I go here to try the ice cream, I get a fat, thick, black long hair embedded in my ice cream cone(pic in photos.) Nope.

Ice cream in a pharmacy? Say what? And it’s delicious and cheap? Where have I been. Apparently not here. I went to my friend’s house and wanted ice cream so I decided to walk half a mile here. It’s in the same place where Café Laufer and Happy Day is but on the side street. Totally worth it. The ice cream scooping lady was super nice. There are over 10 flavors and they do rotate. Unfortunately, they do not offer samples. They had the cutest flavor… Bears In a Tub. How cute is that. It was a tarty apple ice cream with gummy bears. I got a double scoop cone with the Bears in a Tub and strawberry in a cone for $ 2.25. I felt like a happy little girl with her ice cream cone who wanted to skip back to my friend’s house.

Ice cream flown in from Colorado? Cool! Pillbox has over 12 flavors to choose from. It’s only $ 1.50 for a huge scoop/cup of ice cream. Talk about a delicious bargain! I am definitely going to be a repeat customer… The only downside is that they don’t offer samples. But hey, for a mom n pop shop and for only $ 1.50. I guess you can’t really knock em for that.
