Ted Sakamoto, DDS

I used to go to Ted’s Dad before he retired and it’s like night and day. I’m not saying his Dad wasn’t a good dentist; it’s just that Ted is so much more gentler and explains everything in detail, and wants to make sure the procedure is as painless as possible.
He has a beautiful office with high tech equipment and Ted always seems to keep up with the latest technology. Instead of using those dreaded syringes to administer the anesthetic, he uses a device with a short tiny needle connected to equipment that slowly meters the amount of anesthetic which is virtually painless. They also utilize digital xray and photo equipment and can immediately show you if you have a cavity or other problem.
Although I always dread going to the dentist, I know I’m in good hands here!

I’ve been going to Dr. Ted for dental care ever since I was about 7 years old. Back then, it was a family business over on King St. His dad and him were both practicing dentists and his mom was the secretary. As a kid, I felt welcomed every time I went there with that sense of family. I remember reading Highlight for Kids magazines and children’s books like the Berenstain Bears in the waiting room.
After his dad retired, Dr. Ted moved to the current location. It was really neat to see the use of updated technology incorporated into his practice. Everything is all computerized, even local anesthesia administration (which is a lot less painful now yay!).
I appreciate the time Dr. Ted takes with patient education, making sure you understand what’s going on with your teeth after he examines it. He utilizes a lot of teaching aids, like models of teeth and pictures on iPads. And he never hesitates to answer the many many questions I have. Haha
His assistant is also very helpful and organized. He clearly explains your insurance benefits and options. He also takes the time to answer any questions/​concerns I have, and his input supplements whatever info Dr. Ted explained during patient teaching.

Ted is a very knowledgeable and honest Dentist. I would trust him with any dental work. I’ve gone to him before on visits to Hawaii, and have been very pleased with the results. His office has state of the art equipment and he takes great care in working with his patients. He is very gentle and works great with kids too.
