Customer service here is slim to none. No one is friendly. One lady in particular makes messy sandwiches and is just plain rude… I love subway, but I hate the workers here. …disappointing.

Decided to take a chance with Subway today. Bad decision. When I walked in, I stood there for a couple minutes waiting for one of the three ladies to finish helping the one customer ahead of me. Ordered my sandwich and lady asked if I wanted it toasted, sure. The other lady comes out from the back and grabs it with one glove on… uhh. Please don’t touch my food with your bare hand… As I was waiting for it to finish toasting. There was a line starting to build up and instead of trying to help the customers in line the lady waiting for my sandwich decided it would be a good idea to try and help the other lady make the sandwich she was almost finished with… So she grabbed a bunch of cheese and managed to put one slice on… Productive much? Mine finished toasting and she took it out and asked if I wanted mayo or mustard. I said no. And so she said nothing then? All finished? No… I didn’t even put any veggies on… Asked her for tomatoes and olives and she starts putting on the lettuce. I said no, tomatoes and olives. She starts brushing the lettuce off the sandwich. Doing a horrible job may I add. She didn’t even apologize for messing up. I said that that was all I wanted and as she wrapped up the sandwich I heard her muttering to herself. Excuse me? I’m sorry but that was it. I’m never returning to this subway location. They seriously need to work on their customer service skills. I think the same workers were working for another place that didn’t have such a reputation, they would’ve gone out of business a long time ago.

I had a meeting in the afternoon, and wanted to just get a drink. The old lays working there were just standing around chit chatting in the back, and I asked for help. Not sure what they were doing but seriously you need 3 people in the back to do what? Well I didn’t get my drink because my meeting partners came and I didn’t have 5 minutes more to spare to wait for them. Time is money, money is time! All I wanted was a drink lol!

Most Downtownies go to Starbucks or McDonald’s for their breakfast and coffee. I go to Subway. Their breakfast special is legit. A 6-inch breakfast sandwich with a coffee/drink for only $ 3! Are you freakin’ kidding me?! I can get a fresh and complete meal for less than what McD charges down the block?! Amazing. Everything else is standard Subway but if you still in search of a better breakfast that is healthy and filling, I suggest you check out Subway!

What I love about Unilocal is how pretentious we all can be, especially when it comes to cookie cutter franchise places like Subway. Seriously, we’re criticizing Subway because the food isn’t earth-shatteringly tasty? That somehow the 6″ tuna on wheat didn’t change your life? That people are getting — gasp! — chips and a soda with their sandwiches? Or that the staff isn’t indulging you as you debate peppers or olives and hold up the line that stretches to the phở place across the way? Look, the lines at this Subway are always long, just like they are at the Subway in Topa Tower and the one further up Fort Street, because there aren’t a lot of places downtown to get a pseudo-healthy lunch or a decent sandwich. Sure, some people prefer the more expensive sandwiches at Mixx, but how many calories are in that thing? And how much does it cost? As for service, I’ve never had a problem here. It’s a production line, not a restaurant. I’m not sure what the people who complain about the staff here are expecting. If you’re going to a Subway it’s for a specific set of reasons. Culinary greatness isn’t one of them.

This subway is ok for just getting a quick lunch. There are so many other places around downtown that subway just doesn’t stand out for value or quality. But it does beat others on how quick they can fullfil your order. I wish that they give more olives in your sandwhich. I constantly ask for extra olives, and they give me about 3 – 4 more. WOOHOO!!! 3 – 4 more olives really broke the bank. Great for: Quick lunch if all you need to to be held over until your next meal Avoid: If you are really hungry and want something substantial.

What can I say? It’s a Subway franchise. Nothing special. The service at times is okay, but at other times, it is slow and the lines at lunch are long. It’s best you bring cash, sometimes their system crashes or is offline. I’ve been to better Subways in Honolulu, but this is not even in my top 10 list. The only reason I eat there is because I have a night class on Tuesdays and they are one of the few places that are open around 4 o’clock. I would say that, unless you really have a desire to have Subway, try to come here once in a while.

Totally agree with others– this is not the friendly place you want to be– Service is «I’m here and I don’t want to be but it pays the bills back home becuase I can’t find work there» instead of _«I’m happy to work downtown.» Service is bad– not friendly. Lines are suppppppper long at lunch and they close early. Qulaity is not there. ANDTHEYDON“T TAKECOUPONS that are normal and printed in newspapers.

IDK what it is about Subway… but, every time I have a crave for it, eat it… I’m disappointed. Usually it’s the service that does it.

Eat fresh. Not enough meat in my sandwich. Lines are super long during peak lunch hours, I like the«dieters» that get a 6″ sub and buy a large soda &2 bags of chips. Way to be healthy.

Always fast, the Filipino ladies behind the counter are usually pretty good with the service delivery, and the price of course is just right. The problem lies at the register. The ‘one’ guy I see on a regular basis workign there rarely looks you in the eye, never says thank you, and asks for your money as if you owe it to him personally. If this area improved, I’d pull another star out of my wallet. FYI: ALWAYS toast the buns!

I don’t know what other people are talking about. I’ve never had bad customer service here. The filipino grannies are always really nice to me, and they always ask me how school is going and stuff like that. Granted though, they do move pretty slowly, and that’s not something I look forward to during the lunch hour rush. And somehow I always say no mayo, and they laugh saying that I can eat as much mayo as I want. lol.

Yesterday, i said to my self, I’ll get something different than my usual tuna rolls from Fort Street Café. I was like Subway. Sure its cheap and light & i dont feel guilty after eating it. So i stand in line, maybe a few people in front of me, and i look at the menu, damn the prices went up. So a 6″ is now $ 4. I was like ehh im hungry whatever. so i get my Smoked ham with my usuals on top, and the lady that was creating my sandwich was really bitchy and rude like she hates the world. I then go back to my desk and start chowing down & damn my sandwich doesn’t taste that good. like i couldnt pin point it but damn i didnt expect a subway sandwich to taste crappy but this one did. Other then that. go to other subways cause the prices are higher and they also throw in a extra side of attitude with your order.

As with many other reviewers… i have to also agree. i work in pioneer plaza, the same building that this subway is in, and so i come here a few times a month. As a normal customer, i assume that maybe the workers are just having a bad day or that they may not be feeling too well, but as time goes on, i can’t help but to conclude that customer service here is simply not there. as nice as i try to be as a customer!!!, or no matter who i am with, the employees at this subway are flat out, just rude. i’d much rather walk a block or two to another subway downtown.

I hate Subway now because of this place! For one. .. The workers here are ALWAYS very sassy and rude. They are not friendly at all! And then on top of that. .. sometimes you have to tell them what you want on your sandwich a million times over before they understand what you’re saying. Irritating? I THINKSO! Lastly. .. I GOTFOODPOISONING! So F this Subway and all Subways for that matter. :)

Rudest service ever. When I told the lady I’m going to write to the franchise owner, she said«I don’t care, I’m not scared of her.» Go figure… shows how much control the owner has of this place. Pathetic.

I first went to this Subway location because of its close proximity to the Hawaii Pacific University campus, where I go to school. Unfortunately, I felt that this Subway was under par for what I have come to expect from the franchise. They were very skimpy with the ingredients. I ordered a Spicy Italian sandwich that ended up looking like a panini. It was so thin that it looked hungrier than me! I decided to give the location a second try, but my second visit to this Subway was unpleasant as well. I put $ 10 bill on the counter to pay for my food, and looked away for a couple seconds to answer a staff member who was preparing my sandwich. When I looked back at the counter, my $ 10 was gone and the cashier lady claimed I never paid– even though were no customers ahead of me that could have taken the money. Bottom line is that my $ 10 just disappeared. After some unresolved conflict, I ended up paying $ 15+ for my meatball sub! Needless to say I will never visit this subway ever again.

Whoohoohoo! This subway has gotten some pretty bad reviews! Unfortunately I have to agree with the customer service! From my experience, they did not give«friendly customer service». No smile, no hello, just a no nonsense, order your food and on to the next customer feeling… Hence the three star deduction! So if anything, the only plus was they got you in and out of there fairly quickly and you have a Subway Sandwich!

Okay, so I’ve come to the conclusion that everyone who works at Subway hates their job. I bet that they hate the whole«sandwich artist» thing. Keep in mind that I can’t really rate the actual sandwich because it’s always mediocre. This review is based on their customer service. So, Fort St. Mall has the meanest«manangs»(meaning aunties in ilocano) working at Subway. They’re rude and they hate anyone who isn’t Filipino. OH, they also don’t have bread bowls and when I asked them that they looked at me like I made up the damn word.

This review is based solely on the subway sandwich, and since all subway sandwiches are pretty much created as equals throughout the subway universe, there is no way that any subway sandwich can deviate from the 3 stars… it is what it is. Now, if, hypothetically, you’d start reviewing subways for the individual character of it’s employees, I’d gather that you’d have to invent a whole new subset of relativity theory that would boggle the mind, and possibly even cast doubt on your whole reason for living… what does it mean to ‘exist’ in the subway universe… is the sandwich more than the sum of it’s parts… I think you get the point.
