I ordered the Turkey Club and it was fine. The bacon was way too hard that I ended up taking it out, though. I also got a side of Stinger Fries, foolishly thinking that with a name like that, the fries would be spiced with something. Or salted at least. Nope. The Stinger Fries are indeed just fries. My boyfriend got the Classic Burger and liked it. He did NOT like the $ 17 drink he ordered, called the Okolemaluna, which was basically chilled cough syrup. We’re not huge drinkers, so we weren’t sure if the drink was actually supposed to taste like cough syrup. We’re thinking no, because our server seemed a little confused when we told her. We were still hungry after we ate, and even though our wallets were telling us to head to the BK next door, we caved and ordered the Ahi Poke appetizer. I really liked it, so did the boyfriend. Of course, this place was waaay expensive and I most likely will not eat here again unless I get stranded in the HNL airport and every other restaurant closes and I’m dying of starvation. Our server, Nani, was really nice, though!

BEWARE!!! This place’s philosophy is to «up sell» you on everything WITHOUT informing you of the cost involved. This is a horrible place. I would recommend avoiding it at all costs.

I had the nachos guacamole. It was huge, enough for three people. Depending upon your appetite.

New menu is great and the food was surprisingly good! Had the fish tacos and pulled pork sandwich. The fish tacos did not look all that special until you bite into it!

Newly remodeled. We stopped by here every 6 months and we like it. The offer appetizers, entrees, burgers and drinks. Place is always packed, but it’s one of the best place at the airport to grub a bite before a flight.

Our travels from Sacramento to the Big Island required that we have a two hour layover in Honolulu. My usual response to a layover is mild grumpiness. However, a two hour stint in paradise, even sitting in the airport, was a pleasure. About half way through my time at HNL my stomach alerts me that it’s been awhile since I consumed that breakfast sandwich on the plane. So a check of the available grub offerings and we select Stinger Rays. A check of the menu and as usual the pricing reflects an airport premium. We order a Loco Moco, BBQ pork sandwich and a big beer. The food and drink showed up quickly. The presentation, flavors, portions, and quality were all very good. We actually enjoyed our food even at the inflated prices. But what/who made the meal memorable was our server Edwin. He was personable, quick, efficient, and totally engaged with each person he served. Truly a top notch professional who never missed a beat. Tourism is Hawaii’s life blood. And the number one element for happy tourists is proper customer service. We can honestly say that during our three week visit to the islands, no one exhibited superior customer service better than Edwin. So, we received fantastic service, pretty good eats, but high prices at this airport eatery.

Sitting in between two gate areas at the Hawaiian Airline terminal, this joint is a convenient food option for travelers on the go. The place is nice enough, the food is pretty good, and the service is adequate. In essence, Stinger Ray’s is nothing special. The facility is fairly nice and well-maintained. The place has got that«big kahuna”/surfer atmosphere about it, which aligns with Hawaii’s play-up of the surfer/tropic paradise face for tourists. Still, it’s a little unnerving how staged the atmosphere feels. The food was alright. I ordered a basic breakfast(two eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon, and toast) and it tasted like the kind of breakfast my mom would make at 5am before rushing us off to school — bland and boring, but effective. And for such sub-par breakfast, $ 14 is asking a lot. My party’s server today was pleasant and smiled a lot, but she was fairly absent and left us hanging several times, despite how slow business was at 7am. There was nothing that stood out about the customer service, really. We definitely felt like she was just giving us her«paid to do this» quality of work: Not bad, but not good either. A good word to summarize the quality of this Stinger Ray’s would be «unremarkable». If you have the opportunity to eat somewhere else that’s tastier and cheaper, do it.

Prices here are so disgusting whatever Airport management that allows the noosing of unsuspecting air travelers this way should be incarcerated. 2.5 Unilocal stars for the most ridiculously expensive subpar food in. the world is a public disservice.

829 and the bartender said she was«pau» with other customers in the bar? one with a full Stella glass. I asked if I could grab a drink real quick. she said sorry I am closed. Zero stars for the zero customer service (went next door to a Chinese fast food place and had Heineken) apparently they are open until 915 lol

Server was very irritated that she had to slide two tables together to accommodate our larger family. Ignored completely by the staff. After 15 minutes, we finally walked out and got Burger King. Truthfully, we ate here last year and the food was awful and expensive. Too bad this terminal doesn’t have many options for food.

For a place that’s Hawaiian based, there is no aloha. When they told us no about some drinks they were so rude about it.

Check-In, baggage drops and TSA Checkpoints can wear you out real quick. Especially with the heightened security. So where better to have an ice cold drink and some yummy sustenance than Stinger Ray’s when flying the friendly skies on Hawaiian Airlines. Quick service and all around great food. As we emerged from the tsa line into the gate area at the airport on our way to Portland, we hang a left and see Stinger Ray’s. We go ahead and seat ourselves and the waitress comes with a huge smile ready to take our order. We had the Loco Moco, Hot Wings, Fish Tacos and Kalua Pork Sliders. Everything came quickly and was oh so yummy! Perfect pre-flight grub! Everything was cooked to perfection and the portions were just right. So after taking a quick breath after we were done, we head out on the long trek to our gate. Dianna, our server, was wonderful, fast and friendly. It was a pleasant little stop! Now we can sleep it off on the plane.

The atmosphere is really nice. There are televisions every where to watch the game, our server Jasmine, was awesome and there was no wait time. We had to kill a lot of time due to us missing our flight so we had breakfast, lunch and drinks. The food was delicious and the drinks were right on point(strong), which made our 6 hour wait fly by really fast. There are USB ports and outlets at every table for you to charge your electronics but there is no free wifi. The airport had wifi for purchase. Overall, this is a great place to stop in to get a bite to eat or a drink.

Ordered the big kahuna omlet. It was decent for an airport restaurant. The portion was on the bigger size. Came with potatoes and some toast. Good meal. Slow service. Like really slow. Make sure you have around 1 ½ hour before your boarding time to eat. They do serve beer at the bar. I’m sure the service is better there.

So basically everything my family and boyfriend ordered was not that great. The only reason we sat down somewhere was so we could grab drinks while we were waiting for our flight to another island(Might as well drink right? I’m on vacation okay!). I mean, I didn’t hate my teriyaki burger. It was actually decent, with pineapple! Very different. :) But my family complained a lot, whether it was their Mai Tais or burger. Admittedly, the Mai Tai my mom got was just terrible. HOWEVER, service is friendly!!! Two thumbs up. And it’s nice to just sit down and have a beer after a long 6 hour flight. Also, keep in mind it’s located in an airport. So they will charge you an arm and a leg. :)

Do not plan to have a drink/snack here unless your budget is non existent. They are going thru a huge remodel right now and the menu is VERY limited. Drinks too. Been there lots before and they had good food and an extensive menus. This looks to be temporary.

I needed to give more than 3 stars as this is the best option st HNL airport. I travel through here often and didn’t find many options for pescetarians(fish eating vegetarians). The fish tacos are awesome. Quite a welcome treat after the greasy options of the past. Wine by glass included Sonoma Cutrer. You pay more than you should, but I is an airport after all so just expect and accept it. Service speedy and friendly.

On our way to Big Island for the weekend and had to grab some dinner before catching our flight, wish we waited. Atmosphere: In the Honolulu airport. Feels like a tropic themed bar. Service: Quick service. Very attentive and responsive. Food: Ordered the Mahi mahi fish tacos, kalua pork sliders and tacos. The fish tacos were a hodge podge of flavors. Kalua pork sliders were very dry. Also quite pricey for the quality of food. Drinks: No issues with beers. Typical limited selection at airport bar. Overall, if you’re in a pinch you can choose to eat here, but otherwise I would wait.

It’s not the worst place I can think of to hang out. I mean, c’mon…it’s Hawaii. I did cry a little in my beer though because I was actually that sad to be leaving. Well, it wasn’t actually a beer, it was the Painkiller No. 24. The drink is delicious and it goes down smmmooootthhh and actually qualifies as a double. Yes please, thank you very much. Service was quick and friendly — much appreciated in an airport bar. But again, I was crying in my beer so I may not be the best judge.
