This Starbucks is the slowest Starbucks I have ever been to. Cashier charged me for the wrong size drink, then forgets to give me back my change. She gives me my change after I asked her for it, then she short changes me. Watching the guy make my drink,(I asked for Non Fat Milk), he clearly pours in 2% milk in my drink then he had the nerve to look at the cup and call out my drink as a Non Fat drink. Are you kidding me? You just poured 2% and not Non Fat! OMG, who the hell hired these 2?

I ordered a Strawberry Acai w/o water and blended. The Batista made to much and gave the extra for my son. Thanks!

Donna was great today!!! No idea what that dead weight girl with glasses was doing. There was a constant line of 10 people and she was still walking around slowly wiping and filling things up while DONNA was rushing her ass off taking orders AND making drinks. Something seriously needs to be done about this. I know what it’s like to work with people who don’t want to work as hard as you. However, as a customer, it was EXTREMELY frustrating to watch Donna work so hard and that other girl slacking In the back. I really wanted to tell that girl that she needs to help Donna instead of Doing nothing and keeping all the customers waiting. This exact review will be sent to corporate after this. Hopefully she gets punished or Donna gets a raise. The unfairness of what I witnessed today is complete BS if I’ve ever seen it. The entire time Donna kept her cool and stayed professional. But I don’t work there so I will speak and hope for a change.

I have such mixed feelings about this Stabucks location. I’m a coffee junkie & enjoy alot of local places but I’m still that classic white girl who always enjoys a good old Starbucks. This location is a kisosk inside of Safeway so it is not a full Starbucks and is technically part of Safeway. This means that while you can pay with your card & still earn stars for your purchases, you can NOT use rewards, coupons or any discounts except any offered by Safeway. Talk about BUZZkill. Continuing on the list of negatives the staff are employees of Safeway not Starbucks so the service and standards you expect are not maintained. On a positive, they have a full menu minus all the food items and you can use your Safeway card to make other purchase at the same time which can be a time saver in the morning when I need to grab something for cooking dinner later and also need coffee so I don’t murder anyone at work. I only come to this location mornings before work and have had the same 2 – 3 workers every single time. They really seem to try to be efficient but somehow someone seems to always be running to the stock room so they have one person making drinks and ringing. I blame this on the evening staff for not restocking. While no ones energy is high & positive nor do they have that Starbucks smiley face. They’ve never made a mistake with my order which is a win and for the most part, I find that once I order my drinks comes out decently quick although not as strong. My biggest complaint is that they seem under staffed. Some mornings I stand in line watching one lady walk to the register and ring someone up, go start the drink, come back to finish ringing you up, back to your drink, on to the next customer. It’s insanity at 7am. Other times there are two workers, one ringing & one barista yet it still manages to take the same amount of time. The only mornings I get lucky is when there is no line. This past week I wanted to treat some co workers to coffee but I had to check how big the line was before I dare order three drinks at once. Lucky for me, there was only 1 person in line and I was rung up fast + received my drinks very quickly. I don’t want to be a total hater. While most of the time this is the longest I’ve ever stood in line for coffee, they do have their good days. If you need to run to the grocery store & crave coffee this ain’t a bad stop but as a Starbucks it is kind of a let down. I am definitely missing my old work route, whomp whomp.

Well I quit going to this location due to my recent horrific experience, but my friend whom I got together with this morning shared with me similar feelings towards this place. So, safe to say we agreed strongly on going elsewhere.

All the times I come to this Safeway I just want my coffee it takes forever they are not friendly and the only woman that seems to work there is not professional I asked for my regular and she gave me a drink that I get everyday from different Starbucks locations and all she gave me was this layered coffee mixture I asked her oh what drink is this she told me that’s how it’s suppose to be made I told her No stir it yes I was rude but she was rude. They need to retrain people there left annoyed!

If you don’t have a lot of time in the morning, this Starbucks is not for you. If you just want to chill and unwind, this is a good location with lots of seating outside. Good view of Ala Moana and sunset late afternoon. Although it gets hot sometimes, but the perfect time to get a frappuccino, cold brew or a refresher. I give this location two stars because the baristas doesn’t look too happy making my coffee.

So many times, I thought about leaving So many times, i could have walked out that door, and made it my last But instead, I sufficed through false hope and frequent disappoint I confess, sometimes I would stray, and go way out of my way to get me some [iced coffee.]-(I just wanted to be treated right! I needed to feel appreciated!) But i hated doing that! I wanted this location to work, but since it opened, it had been nothing but terrible to me [and all other patrons] Loved ones would beg me to stop wasting waiting for change, itd never get better. But I had faith, and always came running back… ***BUTNOW! I been Dubbed the duchess, and it wasnt all for nothing! I’ve watched this Starbucks work out its kinks and grow to be the decent, smooth running caffeine pumping machine that it is today. From one star-to two stars-to 5 stars, this little Safeway Starbucks has made it! Check it: New Year’s Eve(holiday), in line behind 8 others. BUT, in no time I was ordering, and in no time drinks were ready, and then they were both made to perfection. That And my interactions with each employee were decent and friendly! Way to go Starbucks! You’ve managed to leave you’re old lagging ways in the past, and I think we can all expect a more mature, functional Starbucks this new year! FINaLLY! Safeway Beretania Starbucks has earned this 5 star review… Thank you!

This is a good Starbucks. It’s not perfect, or amazing, but I’d call it solid. It’s located inside of the Safeway, on what is the second floor. If you’re coming out of the elevators, turn right and walk towards the light. You’re walking towards the light because there’s a large outdoor seating area that is bright and fun, and has wifi! Parking is easy: just park below Safeway. The baristas are generally cheerful, but sadly they cannot accept tips, as they are technically Safeway employees. It’s a nice place to kill some time before meeting up with friends in the area, or to grab something caffeinated before you buy groceries. I like the outdoor seating area, and the close proximity to the safeway restrooms. All in all, pretty good.

As many of the other reviews have stated right off the bat, this is literally the worst Starbucks on the planet. I can guarantee if there were Starbucks on other planets, this Starbucks would be worse than all of them too. This is the only Starbucks near my work & sometimes I’m so desperate I come here. Let me put it in perspective for you; I have on MANY occasions driven from my home in Makiki to the drive thru Starbucks at kahala JUST to avoid this place. The customer service is terrible. They’re never friendly. You’re getting paid, isn’t that enough to make you at least act like you care about your job? I swear they have no idea what they’re doing, once I watched a homeless guy walk out with someone else’s drink. Although that was pretty hilarious. They’ve run out of coffee, they’ve been out of sugar, I once ordered a drink with soy milk, it wasn’t until I tasted it & asked what was in it they said«we don’t have soy, we only have coconut milk.» Yes, because that’s the same. Their lid situation is ridiculous. It’s only 815 in the morning, how are you out of lids?! All in all, I’m pretty sure this place only has stars because one is obligated to leave a review.

Often busy, and often seems off the mark. DRINKS I feel like everytime I come here the drink doesn’t taste like how ai expect. I can’t figure out what it is they do wrong. Sometimes it tastes like they burnt the shot, other times it’s too syrupy or not flavorful enough. I’m not sure what it is, but they can’t seem to get the drinks right. SERVICE Average service. This Starbucks is inside a Safeway and can get pretty busy. Typically there is only two people working, sometimes there is only one person. When there’s only one person it can take a while to wait for them to ring up the order and then make the drink themselves.

Worst Starbucks ever. First they were out of half their drinks. Secondly, instead of having a sign of the sold out products, I had to come up with five different drink ideas and hear«We’re out of that» five times without any sympathy or suggestion of what they do have. Donna, most unhelpful barista ever. Blast this convenient yet poor location.

This is for the Starbucks that is located inside of Safeway. First of all, let me just say that this is the only Starbucks in the immediate vicinity. Next closest one would be in Ala Moana. So with that said, I’ve had to go here a few times. Most times my experience was lack luster. One time they didn’t have ice! How can you not have ice? You are located in Safeway! They sell ice! Another time the espresso machine was broken, and no mocha. How does this happen? I adjusted my order to something that I could have, and they were apologetic, but that is ridiculous. I’ve maybe gone there like 5 times, and to have that kind of major problems is crazy. Their drinks don’t always taste the best, and they can be slow. Perhaps because they are not real Starbucks baristas? Well I give them 2 stars because I feel like they try. Also they do not have all the food items like regular Starbucks, so just expect that. Overall, I don’t come here unless I NEED Starbucks ASAP, and this is the closest place for me. Dealing with mall parking is just too much to get a good handcrafted beverage. Just get the simple stuff and hopefully you won’t be disappointed.

I’m so glad I no longer live in the area. It means I don’t have to settle for Starbucks workers who don’t know what they’re doing, or for the slowest service on the planet. The lady who ordered after me got her drink before I did. I waited fifteen minutes just for a green tea apple juice. There are two workers, I imagine if at least one of them could whip up drinks a lot quicker customers wouldn’t be as grumpy. I’d give this location no stars if Unilocal allowed me to.

I’ll be nice and give this Starbucks 3 stars, although the baristas were not all that friendly, my drink came out fairly quickly. I ordered a grande iced dirty chai. It took about 5 minutes from the time I ordered to get my drink. I’ll come back again and see if costumer service has improved and consider changing my rating.

What kind of a coffee shop located INSIDE A GROCERYSTORE runs out of sugar at 9 am on a Saturday??? Definitely understaffed, although the ones there didn’t seem to care much about what was going on anyway. In my opinion, if a customer asks for sugar, you don’t just say«we ran out», you either a) get some Or B) offer a replacement such as a syrup. So disappointed.

Probably the worst Starbucks I’ve ever been to. My boyfriend was waiting in the massive line of at least 15 people for Bank of Hawaii and I was the only person waiting order; it still took forever. My boyfriend finished taking care of rent before they could finish making two drinks. The man who took care of me at the cash register obviously did not know what he was doing and took a long time to take my order and tell me how much it was going to cost. That should only take a couple seconds maybe a minute at max. They also didn’t inform us that they didn’t have a toaster. That’s something very important to let the customer know. We got pastries that we didn’t even really enjoy because they weren’t warned up. I got a simple passion tea with Thai walls… and they even managed to mess that up. The Thai wasn’t even on the walls of the cup and there was too much sauce at the bottom, it just tasted horrible. Starbucks is my go to coffee stop? However, I do not recommend going to this Starbucks. If you need a coffee break, invest your time in going to someplace that actually is worth it.

despite mostly negative reviews I must say that my experience there was always good. I’m not a huge fan of starbucks but I do really like their app and rewards program. Drinks here are always good and fast. Today I wanted to try limited time special Birthday cake frap and barista asked me if i liked too sweet which I didn’t. She said the drink was super sweet and I could order it, and if I didn’t like it she could replace with another drink of my choice. That was very nice of her, I just don’t like to waste food so I ordered my regular drink. And of course they always mess up my name(like everywhere else 90% of the time), but it only makes me laugh.

Location: Located inside of Safeway, near the Deli section of the store. Parking is okay although if you go during lunch, good luck. Service: Possibly one of the slowest Starbucks I’ve been to. You’ll think you’re lucky if you walk up and there is only one other person in line. However, most times I end up waiting for what seems like an eternity just to order. Once you order, it feels as if you may be speaking another language. Granted, this morning, the one girl who was working by herself(Kanani?) was on the ball. She managed to do what typically takes 3 people to do. I noticed they had a «Now Hiring» sign out. Does that mean the slower people are gone? I don’t wish anyone out of a job, but perhaps better training would help alleviate the lines? The lines can get pretty long stretching back to the elevators. *sigh* Has tons of potential, but just needs to have better trained workers and better customer service. Props to the worker this morning though. She was on it! :) #3 of 1002015

What I like most about this Starbucks is that they let me be Superman! What I mean by that is that I have tried numerous times to have them write Superman on their cups and every location has always asked me for my real name. This place simply said okay, and wrote Superman on their cup. The barista that made my drink gave the strangest look and then called out«Superman?» And I got to answer, «Yes. That’s me.» :D This Starbucks is located on the second floor inside of Safeway on Beretania Street. it’s not too hard to get to because there are escalators, elevators, and stairs to help you get there. Service can be a little slow, but they try to get your drinks out as quickly as they can. They seem to be a little overwhelmed sometimes by the amount of stuff they have to do and the amount of workers there are. What’s really cool is that they offer free high speed wifi without a password and they also have a large open-air seating area right outside.
