Steve Lee does it Asian with a twist. Katsu Curry Cake Noodle, Bacon-Brie-Bao, Ma Po Tofu etc. The creativity keeps coming and I can’t wait to see what he comes up with. I also ordered a catering platter of a few items and its very affordable plus made to order. Check em out!

The SL2 Delectables food stand made its debut in May’s Eat the Street. We sampled their grindz at the September Eat the Street in Mililani. Steven Lee specializes in fuzing Chinese ingredients in non-traditional presentations, such as Chinese tacos. SL2 currently does catering and operates the food stand at ETS and other fair-type things. At today’s ETS you could get one of both tacos for $ 4.75 — salt and pepper pork chop and shoyu chicken with bok choy — or for $ 6.50 one of each taco plus two homemade siu mai. Since we’d been stuffing our faces all afternoon, we opted for only tacos. The bao«tortillas» were perfectly soft and I was surprised(and happy) to see they didn’t get soggy. However, the stuffing wasn’t really my jam. I liked the pork chop better than the chicken, but the chicken had a flavor that made me not even want a second bite, plus the bok choy was difficult to bite into without pulling the whole thing out of the taco. Great concept but the execution and flavor pairings could use a little fine tuning.
